Installation
1. Turn o power to the air handler
2. Remove the existing lter from the 2” slot
3. Add foam padding strips (included) to frame as needed to assure a tight t
4. Insert PLP into 2”slot
5. Power the Purity Low Prole (PLP)
A. A eld supplied 24v - 40VA Class 2 plug-in adapter power supply can be add-
ed for multiple lters to systems without factory 24v.
or
B. Locate the 24 volt AC power source in your HVAC system then connect
the leads of the power cord illustrated in the electrical wiring diagram.
See diagram (Fig. 1)

Collector Pad Replacement
1. Turn o the power on the HVAC system.
2. Open the air handler lter access door.
3. Unplug the 24 volt power-cord and remove the PLP from the lter slot
4. Clean heavy accumulated dust on the outside screen with a vacuum.
5. Open the PLP and remove the old Collector Pad and discard it.
6. Insert new Collector Pad by sliding the electrode into the color tube inside the Pad.
7. Close the Air Cleaner and plug the 24 volt power cord into the power head.
8. Restore HVAC system power.
Note: You may hear a little snapping noise at the beginning. This
is normal because of variations in temperature and humidity. This
noise should cease after a few hours of operation. If the noise
persists, contact your HVAC service company.
Periodical Operation Maintenance
Your collector pad should last 4 to 6 months, depending on the
amount of air pollutants and fan usage. For maximum eective-
ness of the PLP, we recommend that the fan control on the ther-
mostat be in the “ON” position.
WARNING: Failure to change the collector pad on a regular
basis will result in a reduction of air ow through the HVAC
system. This can cause short cycling of your air handler system
and may cause damage to your equipment.

Connection
1. Hook lters together by placing the bottom hole
of the Filter B on the pin of the Filter A
2. Latches the top of the lters A and B together
3. Connect th TD (tandem) wires from B to A
4. Repeat for additional lters

1. Mechanically hook-up lter panels at the bottom (See detail “A”)
2. Snap top latches (See detail “B”)
3. Electrically connect the lter panel (See detail “C”)

POWER CONSUMPTION
• 2 VA for each lter, one 24 Volts trans-
former can be used to power all lters.
• Use only 24 VAC to power lters.

MODEL: TUVC-CBX-PLP (Purchased Separately)
The TUVC-CBX-PLP control box is designed to provide 24VAC
power to the Purity Low Prole (PLP) lter(s) through a universal
120-480VAC step down transformer. All TUVC-CBX-PLP will be
supplied from the factory at 120VAC incoming power. A simple
eld wiring change to the transformer, by a qualied technician,
is possible for the alternate incoming voltages.
The control box toggle switch supplies 24VAC to the (PLP) lters
for servicing. Each control box has the capacity to power twenty
(20) standard 1”& 2” lters. The supplied power cord is connected
to the gray terminal blocks within the control box,“TO FILTER”, as
the 24VAC source and inserted into the power-head of the lter
assembly. When the toggle switch is turned to the “ON”position,
the green light indicator labeled “CONTROL BOX ON”will be illu-
minated and the Red on-board LED at the lter will also light.
Filter arrangements can be congured with a supervisory circuit
that provides fault indication on a loss of power for tandem l-
ters. In a tandem system, the lter labeled “FIRST IN”, has a power
cord with a barrel jack adapter. Remove this adapter and splice
extension cable with enough length to reach the control box.
Note that this wire should meet all local regulatory requirements.
This extension wire connects to the blue terminal blocks of the
control box, labeled “FROM FILTER”. With power to all the lters,
the green light indicator labeled “FILTERS ON”will illuminate.
