FreezerControl

Note:Whenfirstsettingthecontrolsorwhenchangingasetting,wait24hours
forthetemperaturetostabilizeheforemakingadditionalchanges.
Turningthefreezercontrolmaychangete_oeraturesinbothccmpartments.For
exarple,ifthefreezerccntrolisturnedtoacoldersettir_,therefrigeratorccntrol
mayhavetobeadjustedtoawarmerone. Thtrningtherefrigeratorcontrolwill

IMPORTANT:If the freezercontrolis turnedtoOFF, coolingstopsinboth
compartments.
Youmay hear the "FrostFree"systemworking.A fancirculatesair in the
refrigeratorandfreezerc_ments. Forgoodcirculationandmaintenanceof
propercoolingte_oeratures,donotblockcoldairventswithfooditems.Water
drainingintothedefrostwaterpan andhissingsoundsarenormalduringthe

glassasfarupaspossibletocatchallcubes.Tostopdispersirg,pullglassawayfrcm
dispensingarm.Releasedispensingarmbeforetheglassisfull,butdonotremove
theglassuntiltheicehascompletelydispensed.
A smallheatedareabeneaththedispenserfloorcatchesandevaporatessmallspills.
Do notpour waterorexcesscubesintothisareabecausethereisnodrain.

The dispenser has a iight that can be turned on and of f by sliding the knob to the
desiredposition. The light also turns on automaticallywhen ice and/or water is
dispensed. Repl ace iight bulb with an appl lance bulb of the same war tage.
How the Water Dispenser Works
Thewatertankislocatedbehindthedrawersintherefrigeratorcompartment.As
thewaterisdispensed,tk_tankisautc_mticallyrefilled.Forp__ticnof the
dispenser,thesupplywaterpressuremustfallbetween30psiand120psi.
Aftertherefrigeratorisinstalledandtheplumbingccrmecticrsarecomplete,the
watertankshouldbefilledbydrawingoneglassofwater.Thiswilltakeabout1-
1/2minutes.Then,drawanddiscard7moreglassestobesurethatthetankand
plunbingconnecticmsarerinsedofanyimpurities.
Toensurefresh-tastingwater,plantousethedispensereveryday.Ifthewater
dispenserhasnotbeenused fora weekormore,drawanddiscard7-8 glassesto
freshenthetanksupply.
How the Ice Dispenser Works
Theicemakerandicestoragebinarelocatedinthetopleftcornerofthefreezer
<r_t. Aftertherefrigeratorisinstalledproperlyandhascooledforseveral
hours,theicemakercanbeginmakingice.Tobeginiceproduction,lowerthewire
signalarmto the"down"orCNposition.Ascubesaremade,theyarestoredinthe
storagebin.Withnousageitwilltakea_proximately2daystofillthebin.However,
thedispensermaybeusedafterthefirsthatchoficeismade.Theicemakerturns
offautc_eticallywhentheicestoragebinisfull.
Becauseofnewplumbingconnections,thefirstproductionof icecubesmaybe
discoloredorhaveanoddflavor.Theseshouldbediscardeduntilthecubesmade
arefreeofdiscoloraticnandtaste._ P_, waterqualitydetemnLnes
youricequality.Itisbesttoccrmecttheicemakertowaterthatisnotsoftened.
Chemicalsfromamalfunctioningsoftenercandamagetheicemaker.Ificemaker
isccrmectedtosoftwater,ensurethesoftenerismaintainedandworkingprcperly.
Tostoptheicemaker,liftthewiresignalarmuntilitclicksandlocksinthe"up"
orOFFpositicn.

3. Removeicechipsandcleantheshelfandchutethatsupportstheicestorage

& Replacetheicestoragebin.Lowerthewiresignalarmcntheicemakertothe
"down"orONpositionandthe icemakerwillresumeproduction.
IMPORTANT: Whenremovingorreplacingtheicebin,donotrotatetheauger
intheicebin.Iftheaugerisaccidentallyturned,yoursistrealigntheaugerby
turrir_itin90°turnsuntiltheicebinfitsintoplacewiththedrivemachanism.
Forfurtherinstruction,seethelabelcntheicebucket.
Remove and empty the ice storagebin if:
k An extendedpowerfailure(onehouror longer)causesicecubesintheice
storagebintomeltandfreezetogetherandjamthedispensermechanism.
Z Theicedisl:erserisnotusedfrequently.Icecubeswillfreezetogetherinthebin
andjamthedispensermechanism.Removetheicestoragebinand shaketo
loosenthecubes.

Removeanydustordirtfrcmthefrontofthetoegrillusingavacuumcleanerwith
itsckstingtcolattachrent.R_novethetcegrillbypullingitstraightout.Zhilethe
grillisremoved,vacuumthebacksideofthegrillandwipewithasudsyclothor
sponge.Periodicallycleanthecondenser(blacktubesandwiresbeneaththe
refrigerator,behindthetcegrill).Donotallc_lintorcksttoaccunilatecnthecoils.
