INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE & INSTALLATION

PROPER USE
The refrigerated cabinets as described in this operating manua are
main y intended for storing prepacked fresh and processed meats.
De icatessen, snacks (baguettes, sandwiches etc) beverages,
prepackaged sa ads, dairy products, fruit and vegetab es.
The siting of Frost-Tech cabinets must be carried out by qua ified
technica personne .
Do not oad the cabinet with non refrigerated products or use it to
coo products.
The product shou d be oaded in such a way the correct rotation of
the product is ensured.
Variation in the configuration of equipment and/or the use of the
e ements added without the authorisation of Frost-Tech may cause
incorrect operation.
In the aforementioned product groups, on y prepacked products
with the fo owing product temperatures may be stored.

Proper use means on y the use as described above, adhering to the
specifications on insta ation, connection, operation and service.
Any other use is regarded as being contrary to specification and is
prohibited.

The chart above gives the temperatures that are genera y accepted
as good practice together with the recommended period of time
invo ved where appropriate. Keeping food at these temperatures
p ays a major part in ensuring that food is safe to eat. Do not eave
food standing in a room or in sun ight (for instance, in a shop
window).
Cooking at +70 or hotter for sufficient time ki s most pathogenic
bacteria, a though some bacteria spores can survive high
temperatures. Food must a ways be cooked thorough y, right
through to the centre of the thickest part.
Remember: Keep cold foods really cold

SAFET REGULATIONS
The p ug in refrigerated cabinet as described in the operating
manua is designed and manufactured in comp iance with the
internationa safety regu ations. Like any e ectrica app iance, it
must be hand ed with a due care, particu ar y with consideration to
ensuring e ectrica safety.
To ensure safe operation in a service conditions, the fo owing
safety precautions must be observed.
•The power p ug must be connected in regu ation matter and
as instructed in the this manua
•Contact your service organisation if you are in any doubt
about e ectrica connection, working or safety of your p ug in
refrigerated cabinet.
•Remove the cabinet from use if it is not working proper y or
exhibits any damage. Disconnect the power p ug, transfer the
merchandise to other cabinets or a co d room and ca your
oca service organisation.
•When disconnecting the power p ug, a ways pu on the p ug
itse f and never the cab e.
•Never detach any cover except where specifica y instructed in
this manua . Doing so might expose ive e ectrica parts.
•If any damage occurs to the power cab e, pu the p ug to
disconnect the cabinet.
•Never use a water hose or high pressure jet to c ean the
cabinet.
•A work on e ectrica equipment must be eft to a qua ified
e ectrician. Safety First!!
•Never connect the cabinet to the power supp y if it is
damaged (in transit or otherwise) When in doubt contact your
service organisation or dea er.

INSTALLATION
Selecting the place of installation.
In se ecting the p ace of insta ation, ensure that the fo owing
instructions are observed, this being vita for proper and troub e
free working of the cabinet:
-Do not insta the cabinet outdoors
-Do not insta the cabinet in the vicinity of heating radiators or
other heating sources.
-Do not insta the cabinet where it is exposed to direct
sun ight (e.g. through windows)
-Avoid the insta ation of incandescent i umination.
F uorescent ighting is recommended.
-Do not insta the cabinet where it is exposed to draughts
from air conditioners, venti ators or open doors.
-Do not stack items on top of the unit.
-Keep the air intake and out et area around the front gri area
of the cabinet c ear of cartons and other obstac es.
-When insta ing the cabinet against a wa , make sure the
refrigeration unit fan is free to take in the ambient air from
the room via the front gri area and b ow it off at the back.
Adhere to the minimum specific distance of 80mm
-When insta ing severa cabinets a ongside or behind one
another, be sure to observe the specific insta ation p an.
In all installation options, air exit must be unhindered at the back
of the refrigerated cabinet to exclude the accumulation of heat.
Only then is trouble-free operation guaranteed.
When the cabinet is insta ed as a stand a one unit against a wa ,
a minimum distance of 80mm must be maintained between
cabinet back and room wa to ensure free air exit on the cabinet
back.

REQUIREMENTS FOR ELECTRICAL CONNECTION
The cabinet is connected by inserting the power p ug in a socket.
The p ug is fitted with a 13amp fuse. The cabinet has an ON/OFF
switch but we recommend the provision of a remote switch. Ask
you e ectrician.
The socket emp oyed must be proper y earthed, firm y insta ed
and protected by a 32amp circuit breaker type C.
Supp y vo tage and frequency must be in accordance with the
data shown on the cabinet type p ate. The oca uti ity
company’s regu ations on earth fau t protection must be
observed. If in doubt, consu t a qua ified e ectrician.
The cabinet must not be p ugged into a mu tip e out et power
strip.
Run the power cab es so they are protected from risk of damage
and there is no risk of tripping.
STARTING
If the cabinet has been ti ted sharp y whi st being sited or for
counting of accessories, it must be eft to stand for at east three
hours before being started to a ow the ubricating oi to sett e in
the compressor. Fai ure to do so can cause tota destruction of
the refrigeration system.
Ensure the means of transporting/positioning used does not
damage e ements which may exist in the ower part of the
equipment.
Start the cabinet on y if insta ed as described.

Starting is signa ed by the running noise of fans and
refrigeration system.

SETTING THE STORAGE TEMPERATURE
The temperature regu ation parameters as we as recommended
defrost times for each case are based on Frost-Tech experience
and on the resu ts obtained in aboratory tests.
Regu ation which is different from those recommended may be
necessary for reasons of non-standard ambient and/or operating
conditions.
The units are de ivered with the regu ation a ready factory set.
ADJUSTING THE CONTROLLER
P ease refer to the specific instructions inc uded.
AUTOMATIC EVAPORATOR DEFROSTING
Defrosting of the evaporator fins and evaporation of the drip
water formed during the defrosting is performed automatica y.
During automatic defrosting, the temperature in the disp ay
compartment may rise s ight y.
Defrost frequency as we as duration and time are factory set.
Defrosting is automatic four times a day.
A cabinets have a stain ess stee drip tray with an e ectrica
heating e ement operated by a f oat switch, and a hot gas pipe
running under the tray to evaporate the condensate water.

CLEANING
A genera shut down of the units must be carried out every 30
days in order to carry out genera c eaning and a ow the
e imination of any ice bui d up which might exist. For purposes
of hygiene, more frequent c eaning might be necessary.
Make sure that the drain overf ows are not obstructed to avoid
significant damage being caused.
Turn off power supp y to the cabinet by disconnecting the power
p ug before c eaning.
Do not use any aggressive or abrasive c eaning agents. Never
use a water hose or high pressure jet to c ean the cabinet.
C eaning The Outer Casing
Wipe the outer casing with a cotton c oth moistened with
ukewarm water.
The g azed parts of the end wa s can be c eaned with a
commercia brand a coho based g ass c eaner.
C eaning The Interna Surfaces
Remove the merchandise from the disp ay compartment and
transfer it to another storage p ace.
Do not start c eaning before the interna surfaces have risen to
near room temperature.
-Take accessories out of the disp ay compartment
-Unscrew 2 recessed head screws at the return air gri with a
screwdriver for recessed head screws
-Pu out return air gri backward of the fixing device
o cleaning water must be allowed to flow into the defrost water
drain.
-Moisten c oth with ukewarm water and a itt e detergent
-Wipe fan wa be ow the return air gri
-Wipe disp ay compartment with disp ay she ves
-Carefu y dry a wiped surfaces with a dry cotton c oth

After cleaning, no humidity must remain in the display
compartment.
The defrost water gutter shou d be c eaned 2–3 times per year.
Rep ace return air gri in reverse order and then screw on again
Restart cabinet
The cabinet can be re oaded with refrigerated merchandise
approx 40 minutes after putting into operation.

MAINTENANCE
Maintenance must be carried out by authorised technica
personne .
The positioning and type of the defective e ements to be repaired
or rep aced can be seen in the spare parts drawings.
In order to avoid accidents: where the manipu ation and/or
rep acement of e ectrica components is to be carried out, a ways
disconnect the units from the e ectric mains beforehand.
Turn off power supp y to the cabinet by disconnecting the power
p ug before starting any maintenance on the cabinet.
In case of breakdown in the functioning of the unit, the user
must carry out the necessary steps to prevent the deterioration
of the product. i.e. destocking and remova to operationa
storage faci ity.
C eaning The Condenser Fins
The refrigerated cabinet norma y requires no maintenance
except for c eaning the condenser fins every two to three
months.
-Disconnect the cabinet as described above
-Unscrew 4 recessed head screws with screwdriver for
recessed head screws.
-Remove front gri
-Check whether the condenser fins need c eaning
The condenser only needs cleaning when a layer of dust, fluff
and the like begins to build up between the fins.
-C ean the fins with a vacuum c eaner and brush attachment or
f at nozz e
-Rep ace the front gri after c eaning
-Put cabinet in operation
Regular cleaning of the condenser is important to save power
and avoid unnecessary servicing.

SHUT DOWN
Remove the merchandise from the disp ay compartment and
transfer to another storing p ace.
Unp ug power p ug or switch off contro switch
If the cabinet is to be shut down for any ength of time, c ean
cabinet. When stored in a storage room, cover with a cotton
sheet.
Do not use plastic tarpaulins as these may encourage formation
of moisture and odours inside the cabinet.

TROUBLESHOOTING
Any troub e occurring might be due to a minor prob em that you
can correct yourse f fo owing the instructions be ow. Do not try
any further action if the pointers given cannot so ve the
prob em!!!
Repairs on the cabinet must be made only by a qualified
specialist. Incompetent repair work can cause serious personal
danger; contact your service organisation for any repairs
needed.
