SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
Before installation and operation, read these instructions carefully and use this product only in the manner
described by the manufacturer in the operation manual.
The signal words shown below are used to alert you to potential personal injury and property damage
hazards.
There are three hazard classifications based on potentially dangerous situations.
Obey all safety instructions that show these symbols to avoid possible injury, death and property damage.
WARNING:WARNING indicates a potentially hazardous situation which, if not avoided, could
result in death or serious injury.
CAUTION:CAUTION indicates a potentially hazardous situation which, if not avoided, may
result in minor or moderate injury.
CAUTION:CAUTION used without the safety alert symbol indicates a potentially hazardous
situation which, if not avoided, may result in property damage.
WARNING
1. TO REDUCE THE RISK OF FIRE, ELECTRIC SHOCK, OR INJURY TO PERSONS,
OBSERVE THE FOLLOWING:
a) Use this unit only in the manner intended by the manufacturer. If you have questions, contact
the manufacturer.
b) Before servicing or cleaning the unit, switch power off at service panel and lock the service
disconnecting means to prevent power from being switched on accidentally. When the
service disconnecting means cannot be locked, securely fasten a prominent warning device,
such as a tag, to the service panel.
2. To reduce the risk of fire or electric shock, do not use this product with any solid-state speed
control device.
3. TO REDUCE THE RISK OF FIRE, ELECTRIC SHOCK, OR INJURY TO PERSONS,
OBSERVE THE FOLLOWING:
a) Installation work and electrical wiring must be done by a qualified person(s) in accordance
with all applicable codes and standards, including fire-rated construction.
b) Sufficient air is needed for proper combustion and exhausting of gases through the flue
(chimney) of fuel burning equipment to prevent back drafting. Follow the heating equipment
manufacturer’s guidelines and safety standards such as those published by the National Fire
Protection Assoiation (NFPA), and The American Society for Heating, Refrigeration and Air
Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE), and the local code authorities.
c) When cutting or drilling into wall or ceiling, do not damage electrical wiring and other hidden
utilities.
d) Ducted fan must always be vented to outdoors.
4. TO REDUCE THE RISK OF FIRE, USE ONLY METAL DUCTWORK.
5. This unit must be grounded.
6. Install this range hood to the cabinet. Check that the hood is correctly installed, since
incorrect installation could result in the range hood becoming detached and falling off.
7. Connect only to an AC120 Volt power source or the range hood could result in fire, electric
shock, and damage.

exhaust air into spaces within walls, ceilings or into attics, crawl spaces or garages.

•Check that the liner is correctly
installed, since incorrect installation
could result in the detachment of the
blower unit and the unit falling off.
•The total weight of the blower unit is
8.0 kg.
•The minimum distance from the
cooking surface to the bottom of the
housing must be 24".
CAUTION
•To protect hands from injury, wear
working gloves when installing the
blower unit.
•The blower unit must be installed just
above the cooktop.
•Power requirements are as follows:
AC 120V, 60 Hz, 1.3 Amp

1. PREPARATION
WARNING
Ensure that the size of the liner opening is the same as the following figure. If the
liner is larger than that of the figure, the blower unit could become detached and fall
off.
Check that the liner is installed tightly.
2. DUCT SEAL PREPARATION
Apply one piece of adhesive-backed duct seal (furnished) around the exhaust pipe.
Position the sealing about 3/8 inch below from the top edge of the exhaust pipe.

3. ADJUSTING CONNECTING DUCT
WARNING
Ensure that the metal duct does not touch other metal housing materials. If it touches
other metallic materials, fire or electrical shock could result.
CAUTION
Do not install this blower unit in the bathroom or in other wet rooms since electrical
shock and damage may result.
•Keep the overlapping length of the
exhaust pipe and transition duct
cover 1-3/16".
•The diameter of the transition duct
(locally purchased) must be 5".

4. BLOWER UNIT MOUNTING
CAUTION
The blower unit must be installed in the liner, which should be securely installed. If
the liner installation is not correct, the blower unit may become detached and fall off.

SETTING THE BLOWER UNIT ON THE LINER TEMPORARILY
Hold up the blower unit with both hands and insert it into the opening of the liner.
Make sure that the four securing plates are turned outward at the top of the
housing. Then secure the blower unit temporarily to the top of liner. At the same
time, make sure that the top of the exhaust pipe is inserted securely into the
bottom of the transition duct.

OPENING THE FRONT COVER
While holding the front cover, remove the four screws from the front cover. Swing
the front cover in the direction of arrow

CAUTION
Do not remove the hanging front cover from its hinge. This may damage the hinge.

ATTACHING THE BLOWER UNIT TO THE LINER
Align the holes and securely fasten the blower unit to the liner using the nuts and
screws (included).
NOTE
Fasten all nuts and screws evenly.

5. CONNECTING THE EXHAUST PIPE TO THE
TRANSITION DUCT
The size of the exhaust pipe is 4-13/16". Continue running the duct to the transition
duct (locally purchased) and seal all joints with furnace tape to prevent air leaks and
rattling. Be sure that the shutter can operate freely.
NOTE
The shutter is already installed inside the exhaust pipe.

6. CONNECTING POWER SUPPLY WIRES
WARNING
Electrical wiring should be done by a qualified person(s) in accordance with all-
applicable codes and standards, including fire-rated construction. An unqualified
person doing the work could result in fire, electrical shock or injury.
This blower unit uses 120 VAC. Do not connect to other voltage since fire, electrical
shock or damage could result.

Remove the nut from the conduit connector.

Connect the conduit through the connecting hole of the conduit mount using the
nut previously removed.

Remove one screw and then remove the wire cover.

Connect the electrical wires as follows:
Connect wires tightly and securely using wire connectors (not included).
• Black to Black • White to White • Green to Green

Replace wire cover with one screw removed previously. Make sure that all wires
are enclosed inside.

7. FINAL ASSEMBLY

While holding the front cover with your hand, swing the front cover in the direction

8. FINAL INSPECTION AND SYSTEM CHECK
CAUTION
To reduce the risk of injury, keep your hands and other objects away from the fan
while it is in motion.
•Turn on the electrical circuit to the blower unit.
•Make sure that the blower and light operate correctly. Refer to page 4 of the
Operation Manual.
•Check the ventilating settings at High, Medium and Low positions.
•Make sure that the blower unit has no abnormal noises and/or vibration.

9. EXPLANATION TO THE END USER
•To explain the operation of this unit to end users, refer to the Operation Manual.
•The Installation Manual and Operation Manual should be given to the end user.
