Assembly and Start Up:
Easy ‘Twist-Lock” Assembly
UltraLux Serenity Floor Lamps assemble using our easy “twist-lock” connectors. Each of the three pole sections has its own twist-lock
plastic connector. You assemble the pole sections with a simple half twist of your wrist. No stripping of metal threads! No knotted and
twisted wires!
Before you start
Never assemble or disassemble the fixture with the power cord plugged into a power supply.
Carefully remove from the package and inspect all the parts and lay them out on the floor. Parts include: decorative collar (A), bowl (B),
upper pole (C), middle pole (D), lower pole (E), base (F), threaded stem (G) with nut and bowl washer and bulb. Handle the glass bowl (B)
section with care. Note, as you assemble the lamp, do no force the connectors. If any components do not align correctly, remove them
and try again. You may find it easier to assemble by laying the lamp sideways on the floor, rather than in the upright position.
Step 1: Attach the Lower Pole to the Base
Connect the lower pole (E) to the base (F) by carefully threading it clockwise. Take particular care with this step to ensure you have the
threads on the pole section aligned properly with the threads on the base. Do not force the pole onto the base or cross-thread the connec-
tions.
Step 2: Attach the Middle Pole to the Lower Pole
Insert the plastic connector at the bottom of (D) into the top of the lower pole (E) and turn clockwise to lock into place. Do not over-tighten.
Step 3: Remove Slack from the Cord
Gently pull the cord out from the base until there is no slack in the cord between the middle pole (D) and the upper pole (E).
Step 4: Attach the Upper Pole to the Middle Pole
Attach the upper pole (C) to the middle pole (D) by inserting the plastic connector at the bottom of the upper pole (C) into the top of the
middle pole (D) and turning clockwise to lock into place. Do not over-tighten. Please note, be careful there is no remaining slack in the
cord by gently pulling the cord from the base to remove the slack between the middle pole (D) and the upper pole (C).
Step 5: Install the Bulb
Carefully hold the bulb by the plastic section located on the side of the bulb. Insert the 4-pin plug attached to the top of the lamp into the
socket on the plastic section on the bulb. Be sure that the connection is secure. Insert the three metal bracket bulb holders into the
interior diameter of smaller circle of the bulb. Important: The smaller circle of the bulb must be on top per the illustration. Do
not install the bulb upside down, as this could cause the metal brackets to break.
Step 6: Attach the Threaded Stem, Bowl & Decorative Collar
Screw the threaded stem (G) with the bowl washer onto the ballast. Place the glass bowl (B) onto the threaded stem (G) (centered on the
bowl washer). Securely screw the decorative collar (A) onto the top of the threaded stem (G). Do not over-tighten the decorative collar
(A).
Operation - Your UltraLux lamp is now ready for use. Plug into any power outlet and turn the switch to the desired level of light. The
plug on the unit is polarized and the larger metal pin must be placed in the matching wall outlet slot. Please note, fluorescent bulbs can
take up to 1 minute to reach their full brightness due to the need for a warm-up period. For best results, leave the bulb on high for the first
two hours of operation prior to dimming.
NOTE: DO NOT ATTEMPT TO REMOVE THE WHITE SILICON MATERIAL OR PLASTIC MATERIAL BETWEEN THE CIRCULAR
TUBES OF THE LIGHT BULBS. THIS MATERIAL IS IN PLACE TO PROVIDE STABILITY AND IS NOT A FIRE HAZARD.
