Installation Overview – Receiver (to opener)
On the back of your garage door/gate opener motor you have two wires that run to your wall button switch that operates the
door. You will connect the two wires from the Receiver to these two terminals on the garage door motor. You will then plug
the AC Adapter to the outlet above your garage door opener motor.
Installation Overview – Transmitter (in car)
You will locate the two wires that are connected to your high beams. You will only need to connect the Transmitter to one of
your headlights. Choose the one with the most working space behind it. You will use the supplied wire connectors to tap into
those high beam wires. You will then mount the transmitter and secure the wiring with the provided plastic ties and adhesive.
Compatibility
The transmitter will work with virtually all cars, trucks, motorcycles, or any vehicle with a 12volt electrical system. Any
vehicle with a high beam that can be activated by pulling on the turn-signal stalk is compatible with this product.
activate the high beam.
The Receiver is compatible with most garage door and gate openers manufactured from 1983. There are a few
models manufactured from 2011-on that may not work, check our website for the latest incompatible models list.
‘2 and 2’ Simple Installation -
Just Two Wires to Your Car and Two Wires to Your Garage Door!
Follow wall button wires to locate
the terminal connection area of the
garage motor unit. It typically looks
like the below two types:
Installing the RX-Receiver Inside Your Garage
1. Disconnect/Unplug the power to garage door opener so it will not operate accidentally during installation.
2. Locate the terminals on the garage door motor that the two wires of the wall button switch connect to.
If you have more than two wires, you will need to decipher the two wires (one positive, one negative) that
operate the garage door. This information can be found in your garage door manual.
3. Connect the BLUE and BROWN wires from the Receiver to the garage door terminals.
Connect one wire to each of the two terminals (it does not matter which color wire goes to which terminal).
See diagrams below for common terminal types and sample wire connections.
4. Connect the AC Adapter to the Receiver and plug into a wall outlet.
5. The LED on the receiver should light up and stay GREEN.
6. Mount the Receiver in a location away from any moving parts of the garage door opener.
(Typical mounting point is on the metal support straps above garage opener motor)
7. Secure the Receiver Unit and wires with the provided plastic ties, avoiding any moving parts of the door/gate.
8. Restore power to your garage door opener.
9. Receiver Installation is complete!

Installing the TX-Transmitter In Your Car
1. Be sure the Garage Door is in sight and all vehicles and any persons are away from the garage door during the
installation of the Transmitter.
2. Determine which headlamp has more working room behind it. The Transmitter can be installed on either headlamp.
3. Operate your high beam switch and observe which lights are the actual high beams. You will tap the two wires of
the Transmitter to the two wires that power the high beam.
4. If your high beam connector has more than 2 wires, refer to the diagram below to see if your headlight
connector/bulb code matches the below. Your highbeam bulb will have one of the numbers stamped on it.
If your high beam only has 2-wires, go on to step-5.
IMPORTANT: Only operate the garage door when it is in sight to prevent injury to people or property.
The door will activate a second after receiving the signal.
If you are still unable to activate the door, see our troubleshooting section on our website (www.rinkuhaus.com).
Operating range is up to 100ft (30meters) depending on vehicle and other physical obstructions.

Tap Red wire from TX to the Highbeam Power wire. Tap Black wire from TX to the Highbeam Ground wire.
See diagram below on how to correctly secure the wire Posi-tap connectors.
When the Transmitter is activated, the LED will light up RED. The door will open or close.
7. Secure the Transmitter and all wiring away from any moving parts of your vehicle using plastic ties and the adhesive.
If you have a sealed back cover type headlamp, mount the Transmitter inside the headlamp and close the back cover.
