1. Bestimmungsgemäße
Verwendung
Die Schleifmaschinen der POLIFOX Serie
sind zur Bearbeitung von Marmor, Granit,
Keramik und Kunststein bei Verwendung von
Diamant-Werkzeugen entwickelt worden.
Verwendet werden können z.B. kunstharzge-
bundene Diamant-Schleifscheiben oder
metallische Diamant Fräs- und Schleifteller.
Die Maschinen sind nur bedingt geeignet für
herkömmliche Schleifwerkzeuge und Schleif-
mittel, die bei niedriger Drehzahl einen ho-
hen Arbeitsdruck benötigen.
Für die bestimmungsgemäße Verwendung
gelten die nationalen Arbeitsschutzbedingun-
gen (z.B. das Gesetz über technische Ar-
beitsmittel - Gerätesicherheitsgesetz).
Bei dem von uns in den Verkehr gebrachten
Elektrowerkzeugen berücksichtigen wir die
Vorschriften des Gesetzes über technische
Arbeitsmittel, das dem Schutz vor Gefahren
für Leben und Gesundheit dienen.
Dieses Gerät darf nur wie angegeben be-
stimmungsgemäß verwendet werden.
2. Hinweise für Ihre Sicherheit
Bitte lesen Sie diese Betriebsanleitung
sorgfältig!
Bitte beachten Sie auch die Sicherheits-
hinweise auf dem roten Beiblatt!
• Gehäuse der Maschine nicht anbohren, da
sonst die Schutzisolierung unterbrochen wird
(Klebeschilder verwenden).
• Stecker aus der Steckdose ziehen bevor
irgendeine Einstellung oder Wartung vorge-
nommen wird.
• Maschine nur ausgeschaltet an die Stek-
kdose anschließen.
• Anschlußkabel stets vom Wirkungsbereich
der Maschine fernhalten. Kabel immer nach
hinten von der Maschine wegführen.
• Vor jedem Gebrauch Gerät, Anschlußkabel,
Verlängerungskabel und Stecker auf Be
schädigung und Alterung untersuchen. Be-
schädigte Teile nur von einem Fachmann
reparieren lassen.
• Werkzeugspindel läuft nach, nachdem das
Gerät ausgeschaltet ist. Maschine erst nach
Stillstand dieser Spindel ablegen.
• Nicht in den Gefahrenbereich der laufen-
den Maschine greifen.
• Beim Arbeiten mit der Maschine stets
Schutzbrille und Gehörschutz tragen.
Schutzhandschuhe, festes und rutschsiche-
res Schuhwerk und Schürze werden emp-
fohlen.
• Niemals Kindern die Benutzung des Gerä-
tes gestatten.
• Nur Arbeitswerkzeuge verwenden, deren
zulässige Drehzahl mindestens so hoch ist
wie die höchste Leerlaufdrehzahl des Gerä-
tes, d.h. Werkzeug muß zugelassen sein für
3.600 Umdrehungen pro Minute.
• Abmessungen der Arbeitswerkzeuge be-
achten. Nur Werkzeuge mit passendem Ge-
winde montieren (M 14 oder 5/8-11 UNC).
• Schleifwerkzeuge vor dem Gebrauch über-
prüfen. Das Schleifwerkzeug muß einwand-
frei montiert sein und sich frei drehen kön-
nen. Probelauf mind. 30 Sec. ohne
Belastung durchführen. Beschädigte, unrun-
de oder vibrierende Schleifwerkzeuge nicht
verwenden.
• Gerät sofort ausschalten wenn beträchtli-
che Schwingungen auftreten oder andere
Mängel festgestellt werden. Überprüfen Sie
die Maschine um die Ursache festzustellen.
• Das zu bearbeitende Werkstück muß fest-
gespannt werden, sofern es nicht durch sein
Eigengewicht stabil positioniert ist. Niemals
Werkstück mit der Hand gegen die Scheibe
führen.
• Staub der bei der Bearbeitung von Gestein
mit kristalliner Kieselsäure entsteht, ist ge-
sundheitsschädlich. Asbesthaltiges Material
darf nicht bearbeitet werden. Beachten Sie
die Unfallverhütungsvorschriften VBG 119
der Berufsgenossenschaft.
• Bei extremen Einsatzbedingungen kann
sich eine starke Verschmutzung im Inneren
der Maschine aufbauen. In solchen Fällen
empfiehlt sich eine Verkürzung der Reini-
gungszyklen.
• Vorsicht vor verdeckt liegenden
elektrischen Leitungen, Gas- und Wasser-
rohren. Den Arbeitsbereich überprüfen; z.B.
mit einem Metallortungsgerät.
• Geräuschmeßwerte: Der A-bewertete Ge-
räuschpegel des Gerätes beträgt typischer-
weise:

3. Vor Inbetriebnahme
3.1 Montage des Arbeitswerkzeuges
Arbeitsspindel (3) durch Drücken auf die
Spindelarretierung (1) feststellen. (Siehe Ab-
bildung unter Punkt 13.)
Achtung! Spindelarretierung nur bei still-
stehender Arbeitsspindel betätigen!
Schleifkörper montieren und mit Maulschlüs-
sel festziehen.
4. Ein- / Ausschalten
Einschalten: Den roten Schalter nach vorne
und oben drücken.
Ausschalten: Den grauen Schalter nach
oben drücken. Der Schalter geht automa-
tisch zurück in die 0-Stellung.
5. Elektronik
Die Elektronik regelt die Drehzahl bei stei-
gender Belastung nach.
Bei längerer Überlastung schaltet die
Elektronik auf reduzierte Drehzahl. Die Ma-
schine läuft langsam weiter zum Kühlen der
Motorwicklung. Nach Aus- und Wiederein-
schalten kann mit der Maschine im Nennlast-
bereich weitergearbeitet werden.
Die Dauer der Abkühlphase ist abhängig
vom Grad der Überlastung.
Unter Einwirkung extremer elektromagneti-
scher Störungen von außen können im Ein-
zelfall vorübergehende Drehzahlschwankun-
gen auftreten.
6. Sanftanlauf
Der elektronische Sanftanlauf erhöht die Le-
bensdauer von Motor und Getriebe, der Ein-
schaltstrom wird um ca. die Hälfte reduziert.
7. Zubehör
Information über Zubehör mit dazugehörigen
Bestellnummern entnehmen Sie bitte unse-
ren Katalogen.
8. Wartung
Gerät und Lüftungsschlitze stets sauber hal-
ten.
Nur GALESKI Zubehör und Ersatzteile ver-
wenden. Reparaturen sollten nur von Fa.
GALESKI Werkzeuge und Maschinen durch-
geführt werden.
Bei Bedarf kann eine Ersatzteilauflistung mit
Abbildung bei uns angefordert werden. Bitte
dabei unbedingt Maschinentyp und Serien-
nummer (auf dem Leistungsschild der Ma-
schine) angeben.
9. Arbeitshinweise
Bitte unbedingt die Angaben vom Hersteller
des verwendeten Arbeitswerkzeuges beach-
ten. (Beim Modell POLIFOX VARIO entspre-
chende Drehzahl einstellen. - Drehzahlwerte
siehe Punkt 12.) Für Beschädigungen die
durch das Arbeiten mit ungeeigneten Dreh-
zahlen entstehen übernehmen wir keine Haf-
tung.
Maschine niemals zum Trockenschleifen
verwenden – die Dichtringe in der
Maschine benötigen Wasser zur Kühlung!
Handhabung:
• Passendes Werkzeug auf Arbeitsspindel
schrauben und mit Schlüssel festziehen
• Wasserregulierung öffnen und gleichmäßi-
ge Wasserzufuhr einstellen. Verwenden Sie
nur so viel Wasser wie unbedingt nötig.
• Maschine einschalten
• Beim Arbeiten mit Diamantbohrern Maschi-
ne waagrecht zum Werkstück halten, lang-
sam und gleichmäßig bohren, nicht verkan-
ten
• Niemals trocken bohren; Bohrer bei laufen-
dem Motor aus dem Bohrloch ziehen
• Beim Schleifen nicht in das Werkstück hin-
eindrücken sondern Schleifscheibe gleich-
mäßig über das Werkstück hin und her be-
wegen
• Achten Sie beim Kantenschleifen darauf,
daß die Maschine so trocken wie möglich
bleibt. Dazu kann die Steinplatte geneigt
werden, indem man an der Vorderkante ein
Kantholz unterlegt.
• Gesinterte Diamantwerkzeuge können mit
einem Schärfstein nachgeschärft werden
(galvanisch belegte Diamantwerkzeuge nie-
mals schärfen, da sie dadurch unbrauchbar
werden!)
• Arbeitsende: unbedingt Maschine reini-
gen und mit Druckluft trockenblasen!

10. CE-Konformitätserklärung
Wir erklären in alleiniger Verantwortung, daß
dieses Produkt mit den folgenden Normen
oder normativen Dokumenten übereinstimmt:
EN 50 144, EN 55 104, EN 55 014, EN 60
555, HD 400, gemäß den Bestimmungen der
Richtlinien 73/23/EWG, 89/336/EWG,
89/392/EWG.
Bei einer nicht mit uns abgestimmten Ände-
rung des Elektrowerkzeuges verliert diese
Erklärung ihre Gültigkeit und die Gewährlei-
stung erlischt.
11. Änderungen
Text, Bilder und Daten entsprechen dem
technischen Stand zur Zeit des Druck-
termins. Änderungen im Sinne der Weiter-
entwicklung unserer Produkte behalten wir
uns vor.

1. Specified Conditions of Use
The POLIFOX machines are designed for
using suitebale diamond tools for wet polish-
ing on marble, granite, ceramics and artificial
stone. They work with resin-based diamond
grinding discs or metal based diamond abra-
sive wheels or cups for squaring (edging)
and milling.
The machines are suitable under certain
conditions also for conventional abrasive
tools and methods which need high working
pressure with low (revolution-) speed.
The national (local) working safety rules (e.g.
Law on the Safety of Technical Appliances)
are applicable for its proper use. This electric
power tool developed by us is in strict con-
formity with legal requirements for technical
appliances, which are for the protection of
health and life during its use.
Do not use this product in another way as
stated for normal use.
2. Safety Advice
Read operating instructions thoroughly!
Observe safety instructions (see red in-
sert-sheet !)
• Do not pierce the motor housing, as this
could damage the double insulation (use
adhesives).
• Always pull the plug from the mains (power
supply) before making any settings or carry-
ing out maintenance.
• Only plug in when machine is switched off.
• Keep mains clear from working range of
the machine. Always lead the cable away
behind you.
• Before use check machine, cable and plug
for any damages or material fatigue. Repairs
should only be carried out by authorised
service agents.
• After switching off, the machine will not be
idle immediately. (After-running of the work
spindle.) Allow the machine to come to a
stop before putting down.
• Never reach into the danger area of the
machine when it is running.
• Never allow children to use the machine.
• Always wear safety goggles and ear pro-
tectors when working with this machine. It is
further recommended to wear safety gloves,
apron, as well as sturdy non-slipping shoes.
• Only use tools approved for speed of at
least as high as the highest no-load speed of
the machine. (Must be approved for 3,600
r.p.m.)
• Pay attention to the dimensions of the
tools. Use only tools with suitebale thread
(M14 or 5/8 -11 UNC).
• Check grinding tools before use. The grind-
ing tool must be properly mounted and turn
freely. Do not use damaged, out-of-round or
vibrating grinding tools.
• Dust that arises when working in stones
with crystalline silicic acid can damage your
health. Do not work o any material contai-
ning asbestos. Please note the safety regu-
lations of the employer´s liability insurance
association.
• Immediately switch off the machine in case
of considerable vibrations or if other malfunc-
tions occur. Check the machine in order to
find out the cause.
• The workpiece must be fixed if it is not
heavy enough to be steady. Never lead the
workpiece to the grinding disk with your
hand.
• In case of extreme operating conditions
strong contamination can build up inside the
machine. In such cases it is recommended
to shorten the cleaning cycles.
• Be careful of hidden electrical lines or gas
and water pipes. Check the working area,
e.g. with a metal detector.
• Typically the A-weighted noise levels of the
machine are:
Sound pressure level: 87 dB (A)
Sound power level: 100 dB (A)
Wear ear protectors!
• Typically the weighted acceleration is
7 m/s2

3. Before Operation
3.1 Mounting of Tools
Lock the work spindle (3) by depressing the
spindle lock (1). (Refer to picture at chapter
no. 13.)
Attention! Use spindle lock only when
working spindle is not in operation!
Mount tool and tighten with appropriate
spanner.
4. Switching on and off
Switching on: Push the red switch forward
and upward.
Switching off: To unlock, press the grey
part of the switch upward. The switch will
automatically move back to "0".
5. Electronic Device
The speed of rotation is adjusted electroni-
cally when the load increases.
In case of a longer overload period the
speed is decreased electronically. The ma-
chine continues to run slowly to cool down
the motor coil. After switching off and on, the
machine can be used at rated load.
The duration of cooling-down period
depends on the grade of overload.
Under the effect of extreme electro-magnetic
interferences from the outside, temporary
variations in the speed of rotation could arise
in particular cases.
6. Smooth Start
The electronic smooth start feature
prolonges the life of both motor and gear,
power input at start-up is reduced by approx-
imately half.
7. Accessories
Please refer to our catalogue for a range of
accessories along with order-numbers.
8. Service
Keep the machine and the ventilation slots
clean.
Use only GALESKI accessories and spare
parts. Should components need to be ex-
changed which have not been described,
please contact GALESKI company.
If needed, a listing of the machine parts with
picture can be requested from GALESKI
company. Please indicate machine type and
serial-number found on rating label of ma-
chine.
9. Using the Machines
Carefully consider information given by tool-
manufacturer as to proper tool-speed. (If you
work with Polifox Vario 1500, adjust machine
to the correct speed. See chapter 12 for
speed values.)
We do not accept liability for any damage
caused by operating tools with improper
speed.
Never use machine for any dry grinding
or polishing! (The sealing rings need wa-
ter for cooling.)
Handling:
• Mount the appropriate tool to the working
spindle and tighten with spanner.
• Open water control valve until there is an
ample, continuous water supply. Use water
moderately.
• Switch on machine.
• When working with diamond-armed drill
bits, position machine level with the work-
piece, drill slowly but steadily, do not cant.
• Never use without water! Remove drill bit
from workpiece while turning.
• When grinding do not apply pressure on
tool but use it with gentle reciprocating
movements.
• Make sure, that during work machine re-
mains as dry as possible. For that purpose
the workpiece could be tilted at an angle by
resting the closest flank on a supporting tim-
ber.
• Sintered diamond tools can be sharpened
with a sharpening stone. Never sharpen gal-
vanic-plated (electro-plated) tools!
• After finishing work: it is important to
clean the machine and dry it by using
some compressed air.

In case of a modification of the electric pow-
er tool which we have not agreed to, the
above declaration becomes null and void
and warranty expires.
