SAFE OPERATING PRECAUTIONS
For your safety, avoid starting or operating the engine in
enclosed areas, such as a garage. Your engines exhaust
contains poisonous carbon monoxide gas, which can
collect rapidly in an enclosed area and cause illness or
death.
If the Brush cutter/Line trimmer starts to shake or vibrate,
stop the engine imme-diately.
After the cutter blade has completely stopped, inspect it
to determine the cause of the vibration. Sudden vibration
is a sign of a hazardous problem, such as a loose or
damaged blade. Do not operate the cutter until the
problem has been corrected.
STARTING THE MACHINE
NOTE: It is normal for blue smoke to emit from a
new 2-stroke engine during and after first use.
WARNING! Avoid contact with exhaust;
a hot exhaust can cause serious burns!
The cutting attachment should not rotate at
idle. If attachment rotates, readjust carburetor
according to “Carburetor Adjustment”
instructions in this manual, otherwise this may
result in serious personal injury.
Set the product on the ground, resting on the safety
guard and the fuel tank. Do not allow the cutting
attachment to come into contact with any obstructions.
Always rest the product on the ground for starting.
(See Fig. H1). Do not start whilst in the operating position.
This prevents the end of the product from swinging into
something as you start the engine.

NO
TE: A protective cover is fitted to the line cutoff blade.
Remove this protective cover before operating. (See Fig. I)
As the end of the line wears away, more line must be
released from the cutting line head. Your trimmer is
factory fitted with a semiautomatic (bump feed) cutting
line head. Line must be released from the cutting head
while it is spinning rapidly. With the engine and cutting
head running at full speed, tap the spool on hard, bare

fuelrelated parts.
3. AIR FILTER CLEANING
A dirty air filter will restrict airflow to the carburetor,
reducing engine performance.
If you operate the engine in very dusty areas, clean the
air filter frequently.
1) Loosen the screw on the air filter cover by using the
Socket Spanner(18) and then pull off the air filter cover.

2) Check the filter to be sure it is clean and in good
condition. If the filter is dirty, clean the air filter in warm
soapy water, rinse, and allow to dry thoroughly. Replace
the filter if it is damaged. Reinstall the filter and air filter
cover.
NOTE: Operating the engine without an air filter, or with
a damaged air filter, will allow dirt to enter the engine, and
cause rapid engine wear and erratic running.
4. FUEL CAP
A leaking fuel cap is a fire hazard and must be replaced
immediately.
5. SPARK PLUG
The spark plug must be cleaned or replaced every 20
hours to ensure proper performance of your product.
1) Remove the spark plug cover by unscrewing the screw
on the cover with the screwdriver. (See Fig. K1)
2) Remove the spark plug from the engine by rotating
anticlockwise with the socket spanner provided
(See Fig. K2).
3) Follow these cleaning instructions (See Fig. K3).
·Spray the spark plug with a quality carbon cleaner.
·Gently clean using a wire brush.
·Install the new or cleaned spark plug with 0.6~0.7mm
electrode gap and reassemble completely before use.
6. REPLACING THE CUTTING BLADE
When the blade is blunt or damaged, it will affect the
tool’s performance, so you must replace the blade
immediately.
ATTENTION: Spindle is provided with left hand thread
open clockwise.
Refer to “ASSEMBLING THE METAL SAFETY
GUARD AND CUTTING BLADE “.
NOTE: If one side of the blade is damaged simply
remove and turn the blade over.
Use only the recommended cutting blades.
7. EXTRACTION OF NYLON LINE
The nylon line can be cut off by debris or by coming into
contact with solid parts, on these occasions follow this
procedure to extend the cutting line.
1) Stop the engine and wait until the spool has stopped.
Push rim of coil, turn it a little to the left, then to the right.
2) Pull out both nylon lines until the line is long enough to
be cut off by the line cutting blade.
8. REPLACE NYLON LINE
NOTE: Stop the engine and wait until the spool has
stopped.

1) Clean any mud, dirt, debris, etc, from the area around
the trimmer head; otherwise, it will make it more difficult
to service.
2) Remove the spool from spindle. Then remove the old
nylon line.
3) Measure approximately 2 meters of line, and then
thread one end through the hole on the spool. Pull the line
until the two line lengths are equal (See Fig. L1).
4) Wind both lines tightly and evenly from side to side
and feed the line while turning the spool in the direction
of the arrow winding clockwise. Do not allow the lines to
become twisted (See Fig. L2).
It is important to prevent the two lines from becoming
twisted with each other. Position a finger between the
lines as you turn the spool to prevent any twisting.
5) When you have about 6 inches (150mm) of line
remaining, press the line into the two notches on the
bottom of the spool. This will hold the line on the spool for
reassembly (See Fig. L3).
6) Put the Washer on the position as show in Fig. L5.
Insert each end of the cutting lines through the eyelets in
the cutting head (See Fig. L4).
7) Once the spool is in place, apply pressure on the spool
and compress the spring. Depress the button and rotate
the spool anticlockwise. Pull each end of the lines sharply
to unlock the line from the slots. Then locate the spool
over the spindl. (See Fig. L5).

9. CARBURETOR ADJUSTMENT
WARNING! Incorrect adjustment may cause
damage to your unit. If the engine does not run
well after adjusting the carburetor, please contact the
Helpline for advice.
The idle adjustment screw (n) (See Fig. M) is used to
adjust the engine rotation speed. Whilst the throttle lever
is set to the lowest speed position, turn the idle screw
clockwise to increase idle speed; counterclockwise to
decrease idle speed.
If the blade or cutter continues to rotate, or the engine
stops with the throttle lever in the idle position make the
necessary adjustments to the ‘idle adjustment’ screw.
DANGER! When carburetor adjustment is
completed, the cutting attachment should not
turn at idle.
STORAGE
Proper storage preparation is essential to keep your
brushcutter trouble free and looking good. The following
steps will help to keep rust and corrosion from impairing
your brushcutter function and appearance and will make the
engine easier to start when you use the brushcutter again.
1. Cleaning
Wash the blade, including the area around the cutter head.
Wash the engine by hand and be careful to prevent water
from entering the air filter.
NOTE: A garden hose or pressure washing equipment
will force water into the air filter. Water in the air filter will
allow water to enter the carburetor or engine, causing
damage.
Water on a hot engine can cause damage. If the engine
has been running, allow it to cool for at least 1/2 hour
before washing.
After washing the cutter, wipe dry all accessible surfaces.
Start the engine outdoors, and let it run until it reaches
normal operating temperature to evaporate any water
remaining on the engine. Stop the engine and allow it to cool.
After the cutter is clean and dry, coat areas that may rust
with a light film of oil. Lubricate the control cable cores
with a silicone spray lubricant.
2. Fuel
Petrol will oxidise and deteriorate during storage. Old fuel
will cause hard starting and leave gum deposits that will
clog the fuel system.
The length of time that fuel can be left in the fuel tank/
carburetor will vary depending upon storage conditions
–approximately 60 days after mixing.
You can avoid fuel deterioration problems by draining
the fuel tank and short starting the engine afterwards to
empty the carburetor.
