Read these instructions completely and carefully.
Installation of this range must conform with
local codes, or inthe absence of local codes,
with the National Fuel Gas Code, ANSI Z223.1/
NFPA.54, latest edition. In Canada, installation
must conform with the current Natural Gas
Installation Code, CAN/CGA-B149.1 or the current
Propane Installation Code, CAN/CGA-B149.2, and
with local codes where applicable. This range
has been design-certFied by CSA International
according to ANSI Z21.1, latest edition and
Canadian Gas Association according to CAN/
CGA-I.1 latest edition.
When installing a gas appliance the use of old
flexible connectors can cause gas leaks and
personal injury. Always use a NEW flexible
connector.
Leak testing of the appliance shall be conducted
according to the manufacturer instructions.
The range must be electrically grounded in
accordance with local codes or, in the absence
of local codes, in accordance with the National
Electrical Code (ANSI/NFPA 70, latest edition).
In Canada, electrical grounding must be in
accordance with the current CSAC22.1 Canadian
Electrical Code Part 1 and/or local codes. See
Electrical Connections in this section.
Do not install this product with an air curtain
hood or other range hood that operates by
blowing air down on the cooktop. This airflow
may interfere with operation of the gas burners
resulting in fire or explosion hazard.
FOR YOUR SAFETY:
Tip-Over Hazard
• A child or adult can tip the range and be killed.
• Install the anti-tip bracket to the wall or floor.
• Engage the range to the anti-tip bracket by sliding the
range back such that the foot is engaged.
• Re-engage the anti-tip bracket if the range is moved.
• Failure to do so can result in death or serious burns
to children or adults.

BEFORE YOU BEGIN
IMPO RTANT = Save these instructions for
local inspector's use.
IMPORTANT -- Observe all governing
codes and ordinances.
IMPORTANT -- Remove allpacking
material and literature from oven before
connecting gas and electrical supply to range.
IMPORTANT -- Toavoiddamageto your
cabinets, check with your builder or cabinet
supplier to make sure that the materials used will
not discolor, delaminate or sustain other damage.
This oven has been designed in accordance with
the requirements of UL and CSA International
and complies with the maximum allowable wood
cabinet temperatures of 194°F 190°C).
Note to Installer - Be sure to leave these
instructions with consumer.
Note to consumer - Keep these instructions for
future reference.
Servicer - The electrical diagram is in on
envelope attached to the back of the range.
Proper installation is the responsibility of the
installer.
Product failure due to improper installation is not
covered under warranty.
Before installing your range on linoleum or any
other synthetic floor covering, make sure the
floor covering con withstand 180°F without
shrinking, warping or discoloring. Do not install
the range over carpeting unless a sheet of 1/4"
thick plywood or similar insulator is placed
between the range and carpeting.
Mobile Home - Additional Installation
Requirements
The installation of this range must conform to
the Manufactured Home Construction and Safety
Standard, Title 24 CFR,Port 3280 (formerly the
Federal Standard for Mobile Home Construction
and Saftey, Title 24, HUD Port 280). When such
standard is not applicable, use the Standard for
Manufactured Home Installations, ANSI A225.1/
NFPA501A or with local codes.
In Canada, the installation of this range must
conform with the current standards CAN/CSA-
A240-1atest edition, or with localcodes.
When this range is installed in a mobile home, it
must be secured to the floor during transit. Any
method of securing the range is adequate as
long as it conforms to the standards listed above.
DIMENSIONS AND CLEARANCES
Provide adequate clearances between the
range and adjacent combustible surfaces. These
dimensions must be met for safe use of your
range.
Allow 30" 176.2cm) minimum clearance between
burners and bottom of unprotected wood or
metal cabinet, or allow a 24" 161cm) minimum
when bottom of wood or metal cabinet is
protected by no less than 1/4" 16.4mm) thick

CONVERTING TO LP GAS
(OR CONVERTING BACK TO

This range leaves the factory set for use with
natural gas. If you want to convert to LP
gas, the conversion must be performed by a
qualified LP gas installer.
The conversion orifices and instructions can be
found on back of the range.
Keep these instructions and all orifices in case
you want to convert back to natural gas.

F_ ELECTRICAL REQUIREMENTS
AWARNING: This appliance must be
properly grounded.
_J_WARNI NG: All new constructions, mobile
homes, recreational vehicles and installations where
local codes do not allow grounding through neutral,
require a 4-conductor UL-listed range cord.
AWARNi NG: TO prevent fire or shock, do
not use an extension cord with this appliance.
AWARNING: To prevent shock, remove
house fuse or open circuit breaker before
beginning installation.
We recommend you have the electrical wiring
and hookup of your range connected by a
qualified electrician. After installation, have the
electrician show you how to disconnect power
from the range.
You must use a single-phase, 120/208 VAC or
120/240 VAC, 60 hertz electrical system. If you
connect to aluminum wiring, properly installed
connectors approved for use with aluminum
wiring must be used.
Effective January 1, 1996, the National Electrical
Code requires that new construction (not
existing) utilize a 4-conductor connection to an
electric range. When installing an electric range
in new construction, mobile home, recreational
vehicle, or an area where local codes prohibit
grounding through the neutral conductor, refer to
the section on four-conductor branch circuit
connections.
Checkwith your localutilities for electricalcodes
which apply inyour area.Failureto wire your
ovenaccordingto governingcodes couldresult
in a hazardous condition. If there are no local
codes, your oven must be wired and fused to
meet the National Electrical Code, NFPA No.
70 - latest edition, available from the National
Fire Protection Association.
This appliance must be supplied with the proper
voltage and frequency, and connected to an
individual, properly grounded, 40 amp (minimum)
branch circuit protected by a circuit breaker
or time-delay fuse.
Use only a 3-conductor or a 4-conductor
UL-listed range cord. These cords may be
provided with ring terminals on wire and a strain
relief device.
A range cord rated at 40 amps with 125/250
minimum volt range is required. A 50 amp range
cord is not recommended but if used, it should
be marked for use with nominal 1_" diameter
connection openings. Care should be taken to
center the cable and strain relief within the
knockout hole to keep the edge from damaging
the cable.
The rating plate is located on the oven frame or
on the side of the drawer frame.
Note: Use of automatic, wireless or wired external
switches that shut off power to the appliances,
are not recommended for this product.

the knockout ring (lSA") located on bracket
directly below the terminal block. To
remove the knockout, use a pair of pliers
to bend the knockout ring away from the
bracket and twist until ring is removed.

For power cord installations only (see the
next step if using conduit), assemble the
strain relief in the hole. Insert the power
cord through the strain relief and tighten.
Allow enough slack to easily attach the
cord terminals to the terminal block. If
tabs are present at the end of the winged
strain relief, they can be removed for
better fit.
NOTE:Do not install the power cord
without a strain relief. The strain relief
bracket MUSTbe installed before
reinstalling the rear range wiring cover.
For 3/4" conduit installations only, purchase
a squeeze connector matching the diameter
of your conduit and assemble it in the hole.
Insert the conduit through the squeeze
connector and tighten. Allow enough slack
to easilyattach the wires to the terminal
block. NOTE:Do not install the conduit
without a squeeze connector. The
squeeze connector MUSTbe installed
before reinstalling the rear range wiring
cover.

connected as shown below for the range to be
properly grounded. Do not remove the ground
strap. Failure follow this instruction may result

A. Loosen the 3 lower screws on the terminal
block. Do not loosen the upper screws.
B. Do not cut or remove the ground strap.
C. Insert the bare wire tip (insulation stripped
5/8") into the bottom terminal block openings.
Be certain the white wire is in the center. On
certain models, the wire must be inserted
through an opening in the ground strap.
Securely tighten each screw onto each wire
(35 to 50 in-lbs.).
NOTE: Aluminum building wire may be used but
it must be rated for the correct amperage and
voltage.

its left edge under the retaining tabs and
replace the screws removed earlier. Make

line connections. Overtightening may crack
the pressure regulator resulting in fire or
explosion hazard.
Gas Pressure Regulator
You must use the gas pressure regulator supplied
with this range. For proper operations the inlet
pressure to the regulator should be as follows:
Natural Gas:
Minimum pressure: 6" of Water Column
Maximum pressure: 13" of Water Column
LPGas:
Minimum pressure: 11" of Water Column
Maximum pressure: 15" of Water Column
If you are not sure about the inlet pressure
contact local gas supplier.
Shut off the main gas supply valve before
disconnecting the old range and leave it off
until the new hook-up has been completed,
Don't forget to relight the pilot on other gas
appliances when you turn the gas back on,
Because hard piping restricts movement of
the range, the use of a CSA International-
certified flexible metal appliance connector is
recommended unless local codes require a hard-
piped connection.
If the hard piping method is used, you must
carefully align the pipe; the range cannot be
moved after the connection is made.
To prevent gas leaks, put pipe joint compound on,
or wrap pipe thread tape with Teflon* around, all
male (external) pipe threads.
A. Install a manual shut-off valve in the gas line
in an easily accessed location outside of the
range. Make sure everyone operating the
range knows where and how to shut off the
gas supply to the range.
B. Install male 1/2" flare union adapter to the 1/2"
NPTinternal thread at inlet of regulator. Usea
backup wrench on the regulator fitting to avoid
damage.
C. Install male 1/2" or 5/4" flare union adapter to
the NPTinternal thread of the manual shut-off
valve, taking care to back-up the shut-off valve
to keep it from turning.
D. Connect flexible metal appliance connector
to the adapter on the range. Position range to
permit connection at the shut-off valve.
E. When all connections have been made, make
sure all range controls are in the off position
and turn on the main gas supply valve.
Use a liquid leak detector at alljoints and
connections to check for leaks in the system.
When using pressures greater than 1/2 psig
to pressure test the gas supply system of the
residence, disconnect the range and individual
shut-off valve from the gas supply piping. When
using pressures of 1/2 psig or lessto pressure
test the gas supply system, simply isolate the
range from the gas supply system by closing the
individual shut-off valve.
When checking for proper operation of the
regulator, the inlet pressure must be at least 1"
greater than the operating (manifold) pressure as
given on rating label of product.

181 CHECK SURFACE BURNERS
Push and turn knob to LITEposition. You will hear
a clicking sound indicating proper operation of
the spark module. Once the air has been purged
from the supply lines, burners should light within
4 seconds. After burner lights, rotate knob out of
the LITEposition. Try each burner in succession
until all burners have been checked.
Quality of Flames
The flame quality of the burners needs to be
determined visually.
If burner flames look like iA), call for service.
Normal burner flames should look like {B) or (C),
depending on the type of gas you use
With LP gas, some yellow tipping on outer cones
is normal.

LEVEL THE RANGE

A. Hug in the unit
B. Measure the height of your countertop at the
rear of the opening (X).
C. Adjust two rear leveling legs so that the rear of
cooktop is at the some height asthe counter (Y).
D. Slide unit into place.
E.Install oven shelves in the oven and position the
range where it will be installed.
F. Check for levelness by placing a spirit level on
one of the oven shelves. Take two readings-with
the level placed diagonally first in one direction
and then the other.
G. Adjust front leveling legs until the range is level.
H. Look under the unit and verify that the rear leg
is fully engaged with the anti-tip device. Ifnot,
remove the unit and adjust the height of the
rear leg so that it is properly engaged.

jZZl FINAL INSTALLATION CHECKLIST
• Check to make sure the circuit breaker isclosed (RESET)or the circuit fuses are replaced.
• Besure power to the building is in service.
• Check that all packing materials and tape have been removed. This includes all adhesive tape, wire
ties, cardboard and protective plastic. Failure to remove these materials could result indamage to the
appliance once the appliance has been turned on and surfaces have heated.
• Check that the door and drawer are parallel to each other and that both operate smoothly. If they do not,
see the Owner's Hanual for adjustment instructions.
• Check to make sure that the rear leveling leg isfully engaged into the Anti-Tip bracket and that the
bracket is securely installed.
OPERATION CHECKLIST
• Check that the clock display is energized. If 'bad line' appears in the display, disconnect power
immediately. Recheckthe range wiring connections. If range wiring is correct, have building wiring
checked for proper connections and voltage.
• Activate BROILand make sure the element glows within 60 seconds.Cancel BROILwhen glow is detected.
Ifglow isnot detected within the time limit, recheck the range wiring
connections. Ifrange wiring is correct, have building wiring checked for proper connections and voltage.
• Besure all range controls are in the OFFposition before leaving the range.
WHEN ALL HOOKUPS ARE
COMPLETED
Make sure all controls are left in the off position.
Make sure the flow of combustion and ventilation
air to the range is unobstructed.
Check that all packing materials and tape have
been removed. This will include tape on metal
panel under control knobs (if applicable), adhesive
tape, wire ties, cardboard and protective plastic.
Failure to remove these materials could result in
damage to the appliance once the appliance has
been turned on and surfaces have heated.

Debido a que 1astuberias dares restringen el
movimiento de la cocina, se recomienda el usa del
conector pare electrodom6sticos de metal flexible
con certificaci6n internacionaJ de CSA,a menos
qua los c6digos locales requieran una conexi6n de
tuberfa dare.
Si se usa el m@odo de tuberfa dare, deber6
alinear la misma con cuidado; la cocina no se
podr6 mover una vez realizada la conexi6n.
Pare evitar p6rdidas de gas, coloque elcompuesto
de lajunta de gas, o envuelva la cinta pare Fasces
de tuberfas con Tefl6n* alrededor de redes las
fasces de tuberfa macho (externas).
A. Instale una v61vula de cierre manual de la Ifnea
de gas en la Ifnea de gas, en una ubicaci6n
de f6cil acceso fuera de la cocina. Aseg0rese
de qua todas las personas qua usen la cocina

E.Cuando todas las conexiones se hayan
realizado, asegOrese de qua redes los controles
de la cocina est6n en la posici6n de apagado y
encienda la v@vula de suministro principal de
gas. Use un detector de p6rdida de Ifquido en
redes las uniones y conexiones, pare controlar
p6rdidas en el sistema.

Estas rejillas poseen las marcas "IZQUIERDA"y
"DERECHA"en sus partes inferiores. Coloque la
rejilla intermedia con el extreme carte hacia el
frente de la parrilla.

CONTROLE LAS CABEZAS
DE LOS QUEMADORES
Presione y gire ]a perflla ala posici6n LITE(Luz).
Escuchar6 un sonido de dic, que indica el
funcionamiento adecuado de1 m6dulo de chispeo.
Una vez qua el aire se haya purgado de las
lineas de suministro, los quemadores se deber6n
encender dentro de los 4 segundos. Luego de qua
los quemadores se iluminen, gire Japerilla fuera
de la posici6n LITE Pruebe cada quemador de
forma sucesiva haste qua todos los quemadores
hayan sido controlados.
Calidad de las Llamas
La calidad de las llamas de los quemadores se
debar6 determiner visualmente.
Si las llamas del quemador se ven coma en {A),
llama al servicio t6cnico. El aspecto de la llama
normal se ve coma en (B)o (C), dependiendo del
tipo de gas qua use.
Con gas LP, es normal que haya aigunas puntas
amarillas en los cones externos.

completamente las pates niveladoras, ya que la
cocina no ester6 asegurada de forma adecuada
al dispositivo anti-volcaduras.
A. Enchufe la unidad.
B. Mida laaltura de su mostrador de encimera en
la parte trasera de la abertura IXl.
C. Ajuste las dos pates de nivelaci6n traseras pare
que la parte trasera de la estufa se encuentre a
la misma altura del mostrador (Y).
D. Deslice la unidad en su lugar.
E.Instale los estantes del homo en la unidad y
coloque la cocina deride se instalar6.
F. Controle la nivelaci6n colocando un nivel de
burbuja de aire sabre uno de los estantes
del borne. Haga dos lectures-con el nivel
ubicado en diagonal primero en una direcci6n
y luego en la otra.
6. Ajuste las pates de nivelaci6n frontales haste
qua la cocina quede nivelada.
H. Observe debajo de la unidad yverifique qua Ja
pate trasera est6 completamente adherida al
dispositivo antivolcaduras. De no ser asi, retire
la unidad yajuste la altura de la pate trasera de
mode qua quede correctamente adherida.
LISTA DE CONTROL FINAL DE LA INSTALACI6N
• Verifique que el interrupter de circuitos se encuentre cerrado (RESET)o que losfusibles del circuito se
hayan reemplazado.
• Aseg0rese de qua se cuente con suministro el6ctrico en el edificio.
• Controle qua se haya quitado todo el material de empaque y la cinta. Esto incluye cinta sabre
el panel de metal bajo las perillas de control (sicorresponde), cinta adhesive, ataduras de alambre, cart6n
ypBstico protector. No quitar estos materiales puede provocar defies al electrodom@stico
una vezqua el aparato se hayaencendido ylas superficies se hayan calentado.
• Controle qua la puerta y el caj6n se encuentren paralelos y qua los dos funcionen correctamente.
Si no esasi, consulte el Manual del propietario pare un reemplazo adecuado.
o Controle qua la pate de nivelaci6n trasera est6 bien introducida dentro del soporte anti-volcaduras
yqua el soporte se encuentre bien instalado.
LISTA DE CONTROL DE FUNCIONAMIENTO
• Accione una de losunidades de superficie pare observer que el elemento se encienda dentro de los60
segundos. Apague la unidad cuando sedetecte el encendido. Si no sedetecta el encendido dentro del limite
de tiempo, vuelva a verificar las conexiones del cableado de la cocina. Si serequiere un cambio, vuelva a
prober el aparato. Sino se requiere un cambio, haga controlar el cableado del
edificio pare verificar conexiones yvoltaje adecuados.
• Controle que la pantalla del reloj (an modelos qua Io incluyan) reciba energ[a. Sien la pantalla
aparecen una serie de lineas rajas horizontales,desconecte laenerg[a de inmediato. Vuelva a
controlar las conexiones del cableado de la cocina. Sise efect0a un cambio en lasconexiones, vuelva
a prober el aparato. Sino se requiere un cambio, haga controlar el cableado del edificio pare verificar
conexiones yvoltaje adecuados. Se recomienda cambiar el reloj si aparecen las lineas rajas.
• Aseg0rese de que los controles de la cocina se encuentren en la posici6n OFF(apagado)antes
de alejarse de la cocina.
CUANDO TODAS LAS

COMPLETADO
Aseg6rese de que redes los controles queden
en la posici6n de apagado. Aseg0rese de que el
flujo de la combusti6n yel aire de ventilaci6n a la
cocina est6n desobstruidos.
Aseg0rese que todos los materiales de empaque
y cintas se hayan retirado. Esto incluye cintas
sabre el panel met61ico debajo de las perillas de
control (si corresponde), cinta adhesive, cintas
de ajuste, cart6n y pl6stico protector. Siestos
materiales no se retiran, se podr6 producir coma
resultado un daflo sabre el electrodom6stico,
una vez qua el mismo haya side encendido y las
superficies est6n calientes.
