1. Unboxing
When a pole accessory is bought, the kit will include:
•ZEB Pole
•Universal Mounting Plate
A screw accessory kit will also be included which contains all of the screws needed to attached the
ZEB Horizon system to the pole.

2. Assembly
Step 1. Removethe handle from the ZEB Horizon scanner head by lifting the pin upwards and sliding
the handle out of the scanner head base. Then remove the rubber dampers from the back of the
ZEB Horizon scanner head.

Step 2. Attach the universal mounting plate onto the back of the ZEB Horizon scanner head using
four M4 x 12mm CSKscrews in mounting holes A. These screws areprovided in the screwaccessory
kit.

Step 3. Remove the pole sections from the box, separate the two parts and screw them together to
create a single pole.

Step 4. Locate the parts kits inside the box for the pole. Use the large HEX key to remove the screw
in the end of the pole and replace this with the small screw –this is required to attach into the
universal mounting plate.

Step 5. Screw the pole into the central threaded hole on the universal mounting plate.

Step 6. Each section can be lengthened by loosening the screws between sections and extending
the pole to the length appropriate for your data capture.

Step 7. Connect one end of the ZEB Horizon main cable into the datalogger and the other end into
the side of the scanner. Ensure the red dots on the casing of the cable are aligned with the dots on
the system component.

The ZEB Horizon is now set up with the pole. Please refer to the ZEB Horizon User Manual for
further information about how to operate the system.
