A UHF880
A PC or Controller. PC need already installed UHF880 software (DISK5472)
Start to use UHF880
● The UHF880 use RS232/Wiegand and RS485/Wiegand to connect the PC or
Controller.
● PC open UHF880 software to set up the UHF880.
● Please refer to UHF880 Software User Guide. There are instructions about how to
read EPC
Pin define .
Caution: Do not over-bend, kink or crimp the extenal cable.

Chapter 4:Interface connection
RS232 / Wiegand Model
● Use RS232 to connection
1. UHF880 Reader is an all in one Reader. The Power (need for 12-24VDC) supply
connected to UHF880 Reader 12-24VDC (Red wire) and Power GND (Grey wire). But
before item 3. Don’t turn on the power.
2. PC or Controller need connect RS232 to UHF880 Reader I/O pins TX (Yellow wire)
and RX (Blue wire).
3. Turn on the power (12-24VDC). UHF880 Reader bright constant green light.
4. Open UHF880 software and specify the COM port communication with.
5. Press the Scan mode button. The Reader starts UHF880 detection.
6. When found UHF880 Reader. Software will display UHF880 Reader
7. Press the Auto mode button which start reading TAG information.
8. Put UHF TAG in front of UHF880 circularly polarized antenna within 5 meters. If
properly read UHF TAG information. Tag EPC ID will show on software.

● Use Wiegand to connection
1. Before you start using Wiegand for connection. You must use RS232 to enter the
software and set the device to Wiegand.
2. UHF880 Reader is an all in one Reader. The Power (need for 12-24VDC) supply
connected to UHF880 Reader 12-24VDC (Red wire) and Power GND (Grey wire).
3. PC or Controller need connect Wiegand to UHF880 Reader I/O pins Wiegand D0
(Orange wire)、 Wiegand D1 (Purple wire) and GND (Gray wire)
4. Put UHF TAG in front of UHF880 circularly polarized antenna within 5 meters. If
properly read UHF TAG information.
5. Turn on the power (12-24VDC). UHF880 Reader bright constant green light. Tag
EPC ID will show on the Wiegand software which development by customer
themselves.

RS485 / Wiegand Model
● Use RS485 to connection
1. UHF880 Reader is an all in one Reader. The Power (need for 12-24VDC) supply
connected to UHF880 Reader 12-24VDC (Red wire) and Power GND (Grey wire).
2. PC or Controller need connect RS485 to UHF880 Reader I/O pins RS485- (Yellow
wire) 、 RS485+ (Blue wire) and GND (Gray wire)
Tag EPC ID will show on software

● Use Wiegand to connection
1. Before you start using Wiegand for connection. You must use RS485 to enter the
software and set the device to Wiegand.2. UHF880 Reader is an all in one Reader.
The Power (need for 12-24VDC) supply connected to UHF880 Reader 12-24VDC
(Red wire) and Power GND (Grey wire).
3. PC or Controller need connect Wiegand to UHF880 Reader I/O pins Wiegand D0
(Orange wire)、 Wiegand D1 (Purple wire) and GND (Gray wire)
4. Put UHF TAG in front of UHF880 circularly polarized antenna within 5 meters. If
properly read UHF TAG information.
5. Turn on the power (12-24VDC). UHF880 Reader bright constant green light. Tag
EPC ID will show on the Wiegand software which development by customer
themselves.

● Use multi RS485 to connection
1. Before start to connect multiple UHF880 reader. Must use single RS485 to help
each UHF880 set their Device ID (The default ID is 255. This can not be uses when
more than one connection). The reason is avoid data to collisions and can send and
receive data correctly.
2. Use the software to set Device ID. Enter Device Setting Advance Chose
interface Mulit-RS485 Device ID can set 0 to 254 (each UHF880 Reader Device ID
can not be repeated).
3. When already set all the UHF880 Reader for each ID. Just parallel connection all
the RS485- (Yellow wire) 、 RS485+ (Blue wire) and GND (Gray wire) for all the
UHF880 Reader. And should use 120 ohm resistor to connect RS485 +/- of last an
UHF880 Reader.

4. Connect the other end of the wire RS485 connection to the PC or controller.
5. Turn on the power (12-24VDC). UHF880 Reader bright constant green light.
6. Open UHF880 software and specify the COM port communication with.
7. Press the Scan mode button. The Reader starts UHF880 detection.
8. When found UHF880 Reader. Software will display UHF880 Reader
9. Press the Auto mode button which start reading TAG information.
10. Put UHF TAG in front of UHF880 circularly polarized antenna within 5 meters. If
properly read UHF TAG information. Tag EPC ID will show on software
