A good place to look for what you need is the Index in
back of the manual. It’s an alphabetical list of what‘s

the manual, and the page number where you’ll find it.
Safety Warnings and Symbols
You will find a number of safety cautions in this book.
We use a box and the word CAUTION to tell you
about things that could hurt you if you were to ignore
the warning.
These mean there is somethingthat could hurt
you or otherpeople.
In the caution area,we tell you what the hazard is. Then

Seats and Seat Controls
This section tells you about the seats -- how to adjust
them and fold them up and down. It also tells
you about
reclining front seatbacks and head restraints.
Manual Front Seat
If your vehicle has a manual
bucket, split bench
or full
bench seat, you can adjust it
with this lever at the front
of the seat.
You can lose controlof the vehicleif you try to
adjusta manual driver’sseatwhile the vehicleis
moving.The suddenmovement couldstartle and Slide the lever at the front
of the seat toward the

Power Seat(s) (If Equipped)
If your vehicle hasa power seat on the driver’s or
passenger’s side,you can adjust itwith these controls at
the outside edgeof the seat.The switch is located on the
side of the seat,next to thedoor.
You can use the round center knob to move the seat to
where you want
it. To raise the seat, move the knob up.
To lower the seat, move the knob down. To move the
seat forward, move the knob toward the frontof the
vehicle.
To move the seat rearward, move the knob
toward the rearof the vehicle.
You
can also raise and lower thefront and rearof the seat.
To raise the front of the seat, movethe front lever up. To
lower thefront of the seat, movethe frontlever down.
To raise
the rear of the seat, movethe‘rearlever up.
To lower the rear of the seat, move the rear lever down.
The switch located at the frontof this controlpanel
is for the power lumbar adjustment, which is
explained next.
Power Lumbar Adjustment (If Equipped)
If you have power lumbar
adjustment,you can
increase or decrease lumbar
support in an areaof the
lower seatback.
To increase support, press and hold the front of the
rocker switch. Letgo of the switch when the lower
seatback reaches the desired levelof support.
To decrease support, press and hold the rearof the
rocker switch. Let goof the switch when the lower
seatback reaches the desired level
of support.

Heated Front Seats (If Equipped) Reclining Front Seatbacks
The control for the driver’s side heated seat is located on
the left side of the seat. The control forthe right front
passenger is located
on the right side of the passenger
seat. Move the switch forward to
MED or HIGH
temperature to turn on the heating elements in the seat,
To adjust the seatback,move the lever rearward.
Release the lever to lock the seatback where
you want it,
Move the lever again rearward and the seatback will go
to an upright position.
The right front passenger’s safety belt must be buckled
before the heating elements in that seat will operate.
To turn the heated seats off, move the switch rearward
to
OFF.

Sittingin a reclined position whenyour vehicle is
in motion can be dangerous. Evenif you buckle
up, your safety beltscan’t
do their jobwhen
you’re reclined like this,
The shoulderbelt can’t do itsjob because it
won’t beagainst your body. Instead, it will be in
front of you. In
a crash you could go into it,
receiving neck
or other injuries.
The lapbelt can’t
do itsjob either. In a crash the
belt could
go up over your abdomen. Thebelt
forces would bethere, not atyour pelvic bones.
This could causeserious internal injuries.
For proper protectionwhen the vehicle isin
motion, have the seatback upright. Then sit well
back in the seat and wear your safety belt properly.
But don’t have a seatback reclined if your vehicle is moving.
Head Restraints
Slide thehead restraint up or down so that the top of the
restraint is closest to the top
of your ears. Thisposition
reduces the chance
of a neck injury in a crash.

Seatback Latches (2-Door Utility)

If the seatbackisn’t locked,it could move
forward in
a suddenstopor crash. That could
causeinjury
to the person sitting there. Always
press rearwardon the seatback
to be sure it
is locked.
The front seatback folds forwardto let you access the
rear of the vehicle.
To return the seatback to the upright position,just push
the seatback rearward until
it latches.
After returning the seatback to its upright position,
pull
the seatback forward to make sure it is locked.

Easy Entry Seat (2-Door Utility)
If any easy entry seat isn’t locked,it can move. In
a sudden stopor crash, theperson sitting there
could beinjured. And, even
if there is no crash or
sudden stop, a driver sittingin an unlocked easy
entry seatcould bestartled by the sudden
movement and hit thewrong control or pedal,
causing an accident. After you’ve usedit, be sure
to
push rearward on any easy entry seat to be
sure itis locked.
The driver and passenger frontbucket seat and the
60/40 split bench seat of your vehiclehave an easy entry
feature. Thismakes
it easy to get in and out of the rear
seat. On vehicles equipped with the power driver’s seat,
only the passenger’s front seat
will have the easy
entry feature.
To operate the seat, pull
forward on
the top of the
lever located at the side
of
the seatback, and tilt the
back forward toward the
front
of the vehicle.
When
you do, the seat bottom will release. Just pull or
push the seat forward until it stops.
To return the seat to its regular position, return the
seatback to its upright position, then push the whole seat
rearward
until it latches.
After returning the seat
to its regular position, try to
move the seat
with your body, to make sure the seat is
locked into place.

Rear Seats

If a head restraint is not installed on the seatback
orstored in the vehicle properly,it could be
thrown about the vehicle ina crash or sudden
maneuver. People inthe vehicle could beinjured.
Remove the head restraints only when
you need
to fold the seat, and be sure that thehead
restraints arestored securely inthe storage bag
and placed under the rear seat. Whenthe seat
is
returned to the passenger position, besure the
head restraints areinstalled properly.
Folding the Rear Seat (2-Door Utility Model)
If your vehicle has a rear seat, the seat can be folded flat
for more cargo space. Before folding, make sure that
nothing
is under or in front of the seat. When the seat is
folded, it will lay almost flat on the floor.
When folding the seat, first
remove the head restraints.
Push the button at the top
of
the seat back and slide the
Detach the stowage bag from the back
of the rear seat.
Then,
put the head restraints in the stowage bag and
place the bag
in the rear seat footwell, under the seat.
