Acadia’s technology allows you to integrate your own
Bluetooth phone for in-vehicle hands-free operation.
Standard on SLE and SLT models, steering-wheel-mounted
controls let you start a call and control volume, then dial
by voice and listen to your call through Acadia’s audio sys-
tem. After a quick setup, connection and disconnection
occur automatically each time you enter or exit the vehicle.
Available on SLE and standard on SLT models are sound
systems featuring an integrated USB port. The port
recharges your iPod
®
/MP3 player while it plays audio from
the device through the sound system. Your play lists and
folders show up on the sound system display, and you can
operate the device with the sound system controls, includ-
ing those on the steering wheel. Speaking of connectivity,
a one-year OnStar Directions & Connections2plan is stan-
dard on Acadia as well (see page 24).

The available Rear-Seat Entertain-

Acadia’s open floor plan reflects
the very notion of what personal
space should be— comfortable
and inviting. Stadium seating, plus
perceivable shoulder and leg room
in the second and third rows give
passengers a sense of autonomy
usually reserved for the front seat.
The seats are sculpted, contoured
and fore-aft adjustable for greater
comfort. Acadia also features
open floor plan
class-leading interior space,1space
you’ll notice when you’re ready
to load passengers or cargo. And
to keep things organized, Acadia
has multiple storage spaces, includ-
ing a large glove box, a bin above
the instrument panel, numerous
cupholders and spaces below the
rear cargo floor and in the available
second-row center console.

CLEVER SEATING ARRANGEMENTS
With either of Acadia’s seating configurations, the SmartSlide system lets
you slide the second-row seats forward with one hand (right) for easy
access to the third-row seat. A second-row bench seat, standard on SL
and available on other models, gives Acadia room for eight. For seven-
passenger seating, choose available second-row captain’s chairs (shown)
and you get a generous aisleway with even easier access to the third row.
The contoured third-row seat has room for three adults, with 57 inches
of shoulder room for unexpected comfort and room to move. Both second-
and third-row seatbacks fold forward and lie flush, effectively creating a
flat cargo area surface and 116.9 cubic feet1of cargo-carrying potential.

The body-frame integral
construction that makes getting
in and out of Acadia easy also
sets the stage for impressive
road manners. It forms a rigid
foundation that contributes to
a smooth ride and permits
traction-enhancing front-wheel
drive. Acadia’s linked H-arm
rear suspension system is state
of the art, featuring twin tube
shock absorbers, coil springs
and forged-steel toe, camber
and pendulum links. It mounts
on an isolated cross-member
subframe, which helps reduce
cabin noise. The lower H-arms
and knuckles are made from
aluminum, reducing unsprung
weight. Cross-axis ball joints
enhance handling in evasive
maneuvers. Together StabiliTrak,
traction control, hydraulic
rack-and-pinion steering and
advanced suspension all help

Helping to keep you firmly in
control, the StabiliTrak stability
control system is standard.
It’s an engineering advance
designed to improve safety,
stability and control on most
road surfaces. Sensors read
the position of your steering
wheel, vehicle speed, brake
pressure, lateral acceleration
and turning rate, and feed the
data to an onboard computer.
If your Acadia is not responding
adequately to your steering
input, the computer adjusts the
engine speed and the brake
pressure to any individual wheel
to help you keep on track. With
sensors that are programmed
to proactively predict and help
counteract vehicle tip-up on
a flat road surface, StabiliTrak
can even help to mitigate the
chance of a rollover.
