1. General description:
The Gneuß temperature measurement amplifier type TMV V2LC 3 is a measurement amplifier for temperature
sensors with thermocouples or PT-100 measuring rheostats. Universal setting possibilities guarantee that all
market-usual temperature sensors can be connected. Furthermore, two freely-adjustable limit contacts and
one analog signal 0-10 V or 0-20 mA or 4-20 mA can be processed. A peak-value memory, simple operation
via touch-sensitive keyboard and extreme sturdiness guarantee a high ease of operation. The unit can be
protected against unauthorized use via possible software settings and/or via jumpers (bridges).

8. Commissioning:
Please find hereunder a detailed description of what steps have to be carried out during commissioning. After
connecting mains voltage, a heat-up phase of 15 minutes is necessary for the TMV V2LC3.
1. Make sure that the unit is dead.
2. Connect the TMV V2LC3 in accordance with the wiring diagram ( see page 3 ).
3. Set the rear jumpers to " free programming ". ( The unit is supplied with this setting .)
4. Switch the supply voltage on. After having switched the power supply on, the TMV V2LC3 carries out a
segment test ( all LEDs are illuminated ).
5. Parameter setting in accordance with programme table (see page 4 ).
Press key . Unit switches to programming mode –programme number P2 flashes. After 3 seconds, the current
set value is displayed (flashing) for further 4 seconds, alternating with programme number P2. By pressing or
the set value is reached. This value is displayed for 3 seconds. After 3 seconds, programme number P2 is
displayed (flashing) for further 4 seconds, alternating with the set value. This set value can be scaled to whatever
value with key or . By pressing keys and at the same time, the next programme number is
reached ( P3 ). The setting scheme for programme number P3 and all further programme numbers is always identical
with programme number P2. If no key is actuated within 7 seconds in the programme mode, the TMV V2LC3
automatically returns to the operating mode, and all modified settings are memorized.
The TMV V2LC3 is now ready for operation. The locking functions for the programming mode
should be activated. The set parameters should be entered into the programme table on page
4 (under “customer settings”).
9. Additional functions:
Peak-value memory:
During normal operation of the TMV V2LC3, it is possible to read out and/or delete the internal peak-value memories.
Both the lowest and the highest temperature values ever reached (in °C) are memorized. This measurement is re-
activated every time the supply voltage is switched on again.
Press . The pressure value in the Min-memory is displayed for 2 seconds.
Press . The pressure value in the Max-memory is displayed for 2 seconds.
Press and at the same time, Memorized data are deleted and set to the current value.
MIN-or MAX-value is displayed. The measurement is re-started and runs until the next deleting
operation and/or until the supply voltage is switched off and on
again.
Sensor-break control:
The TMV V2LC3 includes a sensor-break control for the connected sensor. If the sensor is interrupted or not
connected, the sensor-break control is activated, and the limit values are switched. For units with analog output, it is set
to the max. output.
