Use the Backboard Pads as a Template and mark the hole locations on the backboard frame.
Note: Safety glasses required for Step 2.
Drill 9/64 pilot holes through aluminum trim and into Steel backboard frame as shown in .Detail A DO
NOT drill through both sides of tube.
Note: Cordless drill recommended for screw installation. Do not over tighten screws.
Secure Backboard pads using screws provided ( ). Start with the Right Board Pad ( ) secure it by#5 #2
screwing the top ( ) screw all the way in. Next Insert the other two ( ) screws to the pre-drilled holes#5 #5
enough to hold pad but tighten all the way. If you have a 54” Backboard skip to .do not Step 5
If you have a 60” or 72” backboard, use the Middle Pad ( ) or ( ). Slide Middle Pad in to the ( ) pad#3 #4 #2
and insert screw(s) ( ) to the pre-drilled holes to hold pad in place. tighten all the way.#5 Do not
Attach Left Board Pad ( ) and secure it by screwing the top ( ) screw all the way in. Next Insert the other#1 #5
two ( ) screws to the pre-drilled holes to hold pad but tighten all the way. Slide pads together and#5 do not
tighten all screws at this time.
