Strap which will detach when the Lid is opened.
Also remove the Base and Grate.
1
ADD CHARCOAL: Put charcoal briquettes into the
Charcoal Basket. Make sure no briquettes fall

must always stay in place while cooking to provide
tension that keeps the Base open.

them outward. On a at level surface, push down
on the Side Handles to fully open the Base. BE
SURE TO STRAIGHTEN ANY FOLDS OR CREASES IN
BASE BEFORE LIGHTING CHARCOAL.

spread evenly within the Charcoal Basket. If any
lit coals fall outside of the basket, use metal tongs
to remove and replace them into the basket.
4
KEEP LID ON: Use the Lid during (and after)
cooking to control heat and prevent are-ups or
grease res that could degrade the coating on the
fabric. Make sure the Lid ts snug and there are no
gaps between the Lid and the Base. Vent Holes in
the Lid and Base will provide sucient airow to
keep coals burning hot.

OWNER’S GUIDE
TIPS &RECOMMENDATIONS
CHARCOAL/FUEL
uWHAT KIND? We recommend using charcoal
briquettes instead of lump charcoal. Briquettes are
easier to arrange, and don’t contain small pieces
that can drop through the Charcoal Basket.
uFor portability and convenience, use starter cubes
or charcoal with starter uid already added such as
Kingsford® Match Light or the portable Kingsford®
Easy Light Bag.
uHOW MUCH? For best cooking results, use 2-2.5
lbs (0.9-1.1kg) of charcoal (30-40 briquettes). Do
not use more than 3 lbs (1.36kg) or 50 briquettes
of charcoal at a time.
uOnly place whole briquettes in the Charcoal
Basket and do not use broken pieces or charcoal
dust that may fall though the basket.
COOKING
uFor direct heat cooking, keep food in the center of
the Grate. Place food on outer edge of the Grate
for warming or lower cooking temperatures.
uTo add more coals during use, lift the Grate from
the last rung on either end. Do NOT lift from the
middle or it will collapse.
uFor indirect heat, coals can be oset in the chain
basket using S-hooks (not included) to close one
side of the Charcoal Basket. Be sure to place a
drip pan under food to catch grease.
uFor easier cleanup, place a sheet of tinfoil on top
of Ember Guard to help catch any grease that
doesn’t burn up in the coals.
TRANSPORT
uUse the Carrying Strap for hands-free transport.
uDo not pack, transport or store near heavy or
sharp objects that could bend the frame, or tear or
puncture the fabric.
CLEANING
uBefore storing, always hand clean the grill with
mild dish soap and warm water. The Chain
Basket and Ember Guard is removable for easier
cleaning.
uUse a plastic scouring brush but never use any
metal scouring brushes or pads to clean the fabric.
STORAGE
uClean and dry thoroughly before storing.
uStore indoors away from humidity and heavy or
sharp objects.
MAINTENANCE TIPS
Your GoBQ is made of durable heat-resistant
fabric that will gradually wear and tear over
time, much like a pair of shoes. Follow these
tips to keep your GoBQ in the best possible
condition for many years of grilling anywhere!
uALWAYS use the Ember Guard! It’s an added layer
of heat-resistant fabric to help protect the base
fabric from hot ash, embers and burnt grease. It is
normal for the silicone coating to wear o in spots
over time/usage.The coating helps make cleaning
easier and protects the fabric from staining and
abrasion, but does not aect the heat resistant
properties of the fabric.
uPlace a sheet of tinfoil on top of Ember Guard to
further guard the fabric from embers and grease
and make it easier to clean.
uReplace the Ember Guard if you see tears or
holes. Only use GoBQ authorized replacement
parts. Use of any other parts for repair will void
your warranty. Go to www.gobqgrills.com to order
replacement parts or call 855-355-4627.
uKEEP THE LID ON: Use the Lid during (and after)
cooking to control the heat and prevent are-ups
or grease res that could degrade the coating on
the fabric.
