brewing coee. Exercise cution
when removing the portafilter fter
brewing since the metl prts
will be hot. Mke sure to hold the
portafilter by the hndle nd use
the filter retention clip to dispose
the grounds.

Cord nd Plug Sfety
1. A short power-supply cord is provided to reduce risk of becoming entngled
in or tripping over  longer cord.
2. Extension cords my be used if cre is exercised in their use.
3. If n extension cord is used:
• The mrked electricl rting of the extension cord should be t lest equl
to the electricl rting of the pplince.
• The longer cord should be rrnged so tht it will not drpe over the
countertop or tbletop where it cn be pulled on by children or tripped
over.
Electricl Polrized Plug
This unit hs  polrized plug (one blde is wider thn the other).
To reduce the risk of electric shock, the plug is intended to be
used by inserting it into the electricl outlet only one wy. If the
plug does not fit securely into the outlet, reverse the plug nd
re-insert. If it still does not fit, contct  qulified electricin for
ssistnce. Do not modify the plug in ny wy.

When the espresso mker is turned on for the first time, only the CLEAN icon on the control
panel will be blinking. You must prime the espresso mker to be ble to brew coee. See
“Setting Up nd Priming the Espresso Mker” on pge 8. After priming, ll icons will light up
on the control panel s long s the milk reservoir is correctly inserted into the unit.

Before First Use
1. Remove nd discrd ll pckging mteril nd stickers tht re not
permnent.
2. Remove the water reservoir, milk reservoir, portafilter, filters, measuring
scoop, nd removable drip tray. Wsh them with non-brsive sop.
Thoroughly dry the prts. Wipe the exterior with  dmp cloth.

Setting Up nd Priming the
Espresso Mker
When the espresso mker is first turned on, only the CLEAN icon will
pper on the control panel. This will continue until the pplince is
primed.
1. Plce the espresso mker on
 hrd, flt, nd het-resistnt
surfce.
2. Detch the water reservoir nd
open the water reservoir cover.
3. Fill the water reservoir with wter
between the “Min” nd “Mx”
mrk nd rettch it to the bck
of the pplince. .
4. Plug the power cord into n
outlet.
5. Turn the espresso mker on by
flicking the power switch on the
right side of the pplince. The
CLEAN icon will blink on the
control pnel.
6. Insert the empty milk reservoir
into the pplince until it clicks
into plce. The CLEAN icon will
stop blinking nd become stedy.
7. Set the froth strength control to
the clean position.
8. Turn the froth dispensing
tube lever to rotte the froth
dispensing tube upwrd.
9. Plce  hetproof cup or mug
under the froth dispensing tube.
10. Tp the CLEAN icon. The clen
icon will blink until the espresso
mker is done preheting. After
preheting, wter will dispense
into the cup. When clening is
complete, ll other icons will
pper on the control panel.
11. Discrd the wter dispensed into
the cup.
Before using the espresso mker for the first time, it is required
to prime the pplince. See Setting Up nd Priming the
Espresso Mker below.

Plcing The Portfilter
1. Plce the portafilter underneth
the brew head, with the hndle
fcing towrd the left.
2. Keep one hnd top the
pplince to keep it stedy while
fstening the portafilter into the
brew head. The hndle must
lign with the open lock icon on
the brew head.
3. Turn the hndle to the right to
lock the portafilter into the brew
head. The hndle must lign with
the closed lock icon on the brew
head.
Filling The Portfilter
1. Select your filter size. Use the
single-shot filter for one shot of
espresso. Use the double-shot
filter for lrger sized drinks, or
for  double shot of espresso.
Align the gp in the filter with the
groove in the portafilter. Drop the
filter into the portafilter nd rotte
the filter to ensure it’s locked in
plce.
2. Use the measuring spoon to fill
the filter with espresso grounds.
Do not exceed the MAX line in
the filter.
3. Use the tmper end of the
measuring spoon to press on
the grounds. The surfce of the
espresso grounds should be
smooth fter pressing.
4. Clen ny excess grounds from
the rim of the portafilter.

Mking n Espresso
Ensure the water reservoir is filled with wter nd plced to the bck of
pplince nd the espresso mker is plugged in nd turned on.
1. To fill the portafilter with espresso,
follow the instructions under
“Filling the Portfilter” on pge 9.
2. To ttch the portafilter to the
brew head, follow the instructions
under “Plcing the Portfilter” on
pge 9.
3. Plce  cup on the drip tray.
4. For  single shot, tp the
ESPRESSO icon once. For  double
shot, tp the ESPRESSO icon twice.
Your selected drink type will blink
until the espresso mker is done
preheting. After preheting, the
brewing process will begin.
5. When brewing is complete, the
pplince will beep three times
nd your espresso will be redy
for sipping.
6. Discrd the spent grounds by
removing the portafilter from the
brew head. Lift the filter retainer
clip so tht it’s plced over the
filter edge, nd hold it in plce s
you dump the grounds into the
trsh.

Mking  Cppuccino
Ensure the water reservoir is filled with wter nd ttched to the bck of
pplince nd the espresso mker is plugged in nd turned on.
1. Fill the milk reservoir with milk
below the “Mx” mrk.
2. Insert the milk reservoir into the
pplince until it clicks into plce.
Note: If the milk reservoir is not
securely inside the pplince, the
cppuccino function will not be
vilble s n option.
3. Set the froth strength control to
the maximum strength.
Note: The bove setting is 
recommendtion only.
4. To fill the portfilter with espresso,
follow the instructions under
“Filling the Portfilter” on pge 9.
5. To ttch the portafilter to the
brew head, follow the instructions
under “Plcing the Portfilter” on
pge 9.
6. Position the froth dispensing tube
over  lrge hetproof cup.
7. For  single shot, tp the
CAPUCCINO icon once. For 
double shot, tp the CAPPUCCINO
icon twice. Your selected drink
type will blink until the espresso
mchine is done preheting. After
preheting, the brewing process
will begin.

below the “Mx” mrk.

pplince until it clicks into plce.
Note: If the milk reservoir is not

3. Set the froth strength control to
the minimum strength.

Brewing in Mnul Mode
Ensure the water reservoir is filled with wter nd ttched to the bck of
pplince nd the espresso mker is plugged in nd turned on.
1. To fill the portafilter with espresso,
follow the instructions under
“Filling the Portfilter” on pge 9.
2. To ttch the portafilter to the
brew head, follow the instructions
under “Plcing the Portfilter” on
pge 9.
3. Plce  hetproof cup over the
drip tray.
4. Tp the MANUAL ESPRESSO icon.
The text below the icon will blink
for three seconds then the brew
cycle will begin.
5. When your desired mount of
coee hs dispensed, tp the
MANUAL ESPRESSO icon gin nd
coee will cese brewing.
Note: The mximum mount of
coee tht will dispense is 14 oz.
6. Discrd the spent grounds by
removing the portafilter from the
brew head. Lift the filter retainer
clip so tht it’s plced over the
filter edge nd hold it in plce s
you dump the grounds into the
trsh.

Frothing Milk
Ensure the water reservoir is filled with wter nd ttched to the bck of
pplince nd the espresso mker is plugged in nd turned on.
1. Fill the milk reservoir with milk
below the “Mx” mrk.
2. Secure the milk reservoir in the
pplince until it clicks into plce.
3. Set the froth strength control.
4. Position the froth dispensing tube
over  hetproof cup.
5. Tp the FROTH icon.
6. Milk will froth for  mximum of
three minutes. To stop frothing
erlier, tp the FROTH icon gin
nd milk will cese frothing.

Clening The Portfilter nd Brew Hed
1. Turn the pplince o nd unplug
the power cord from the outlet.
Wit for the metl prts to cool
down before touching them.
2. Remove the portafilter from the
brew head nd dump the used
espresso grounds. Lift the filter
retainer clip so tht it’s plced
over the filter edge, nd hold it in
plce s you dump the espresso
grounds into the trsh.
3. Rinse the single-shot filter,
double-shot filter, nd portafilter
with wrm, sopy wter.
4. Wipe the underside of the brew
head with  dmp cloth to clen
o ny excess coee grounds.
Clening The Wter Reservoir
1. Discrd leftover wter.
2. Wsh the water reservoir with sopy wter. Rinse nd dry well.
Clening The Milk Reservoir And Frothing Tube
1. Remove the milk reservoir from
the unit. If there is ny remining
milk, pour the milk into  seprte
continer nd store it in the
refrigertor.
2. Wsh the milk reservoir nd milk
reservoir lid thoroughly with wrm,
sopy wter. Do not use brsive
clensers nd scouring pds.
Note: Hnd wsh only! The milk
reservoir is not dishwsher sfe.
3. Ensure there is wter in the water
reservoir.
4. Position the froth dispensing tube
over  lrge hetproof cup.
5. Set the froth strength to the Clean
/ Americano position. Tp the
CLEAN icon.
6. Wit until ll the wter hs
finished dispensing before
removing the cup from
underneth the brew head
(the unit will beep three times
nd other function buttons will
repper).
7. Dispose of the wter in the mug
nd ny remining wter in the
milk reservoir nd water reservoir.
The following clening instructions should be followed fter every
use of the espresso mker.

Descling
After using the espresso mker for  while, limescle will begin to build up inside
the pplince. After 300 uses, only the CLEAN icon will pper on the control
pnel, indicting the espresso mker needs to be descled.
1. Fill the removable water reservoir
with equl prts wter nd
vinegr between the “Min” nd
“Mx” mrk.
2. Use the froth dispensing
tube lever to rotte the froth
dispensing tube upwrd nd
position  mug underneth it.
3. Tp the CLEAN icon.
4. Allow remining wter nd
vinegr to sit overnight in the
water reservoir.
5. On the following dy, discrd the
wter nd vinegr.
6. Rinse the water reservoir
thoroughly with tp wter nd
then pour the wter bck into the
sink.
7. Fill up the water reservoir with
wter nd begin brewing gin.
This wshes out ny remining
vinegr.
NOTE: If n odor of vinegr
persists, run nother cycle with
wter.
Troubleshooting
ISSUE SOLUTIONS
Only the CLEAN icon appears on the
control panel.
The other icons will appear when the
espresso maker is primed. See “Setting Up
and Priming the Espresso Maker” on page 8.
Only the ESPRESSO and MANUAL
ESPRESSO icons appear on the control
panel.
The other icons will appear when the milk
reservoir is correctly inserted into the unit.
Insert the milk reservoir into the unit by aligning
the groove on top of the reservoir with the
notch on the unit and pushing. It will click into
place when done correctly.
A drink has been chosen and the unit is
running, but no coee is dispensing from
the portafilter.
Detach then reattach the water reservoir to the
unit (this may need to be done a few times).
Run a clean cycle. See CLEANING THE MILK
RESERVOIR AND FROTHING TUBE on page 17.
Water is spreading from the drip tray
when brewing or cleaning.
A. Water dispenses from the froth dispensing
tube when brewing Americano or running a
clean cycle. Ensure the froth dispensing tube is
above the cup.
B. Empty the drip tray.
