will be hot. Mke sure to hold the
portafilter by the hndle nd use
the filter retention clip to dispose
the grounds.

Cord nd Plug Sfety
1. A short power-supply cord is provided to reduce risk of becoming entngled
in or tripping over longer cord.
2. Extension cords my be used if cre is exercised in their use.
3. If n extension cord is used:
• The mrked electricl rting of the extension cord should be t lest equl
to the electricl rting of the pplince.
• The longer cord should be rrnged so tht it will not drpe over the
countertop or tbletop where it cn be pulled on by children or tripped
over.
Electricl Polrized Plug
This unit hs polrized plug (one blde is wider thn the other).
To reduce the risk of electric shock, the plug is intended to be
used by inserting it into the electricl outlet only one wy. If the
plug does not fit securely into the outlet, reverse the plug nd
re-insert. If it still does not fit, contct qulified electricin for
ssistnce. Do not modify the plug in ny wy.

When the espresso mker is turned on for the first time, only the CLEAN icon on the control
panel will be blinking. You must prime the espresso mker to be ble to brew coee. See
“Setting Up nd Priming the Espresso Mker” on pge 8. After priming, ll icons will light up
on the control panel s long s the milk reservoir is correctly inserted into the unit.

Before First Use
1. Remove nd discrd ll pckging mteril nd stickers tht re not
permnent.
2. Remove the water reservoir, milk reservoir, portafilter, filters, measuring
scoop, nd removable drip tray. Wsh them with non-brsive sop.
Thoroughly dry the prts. Wipe the exterior with dmp cloth.

Setting Up nd Priming the
Espresso Mker
When the espresso mker is first turned on, only the CLEAN icon will
pper on the control panel. This will continue until the pplince is
primed.
1. Plce the espresso mker on
hrd, flt, nd het-resistnt
surfce.
2. Detch the water reservoir nd
open the water reservoir cover.
3. Fill the water reservoir with wter
between the “Min” nd “Mx”
mrk nd rettch it to the bck
of the pplince. .
4. Plug the power cord into n
outlet.
5. Turn the espresso mker on by
flicking the power switch on the
right side of the pplince. The
CLEAN icon will blink on the
control pnel.
6. Insert the empty milk reservoir
into the pplince until it clicks
into plce. The CLEAN icon will
stop blinking nd become stedy.
7. Set the froth strength control to
the clean position.
8. Turn the froth dispensing
tube lever to rotte the froth
dispensing tube upwrd.
9. Plce hetproof cup or mug
under the froth dispensing tube.
10. Tp the CLEAN icon. The clen
icon will blink until the espresso
mker is done preheting. After
preheting, wter will dispense
into the cup. When clening is
complete, ll other icons will
pper on the control panel.
11. Discrd the wter dispensed into
the cup.
Before using the espresso mker for the first time, it is required
to prime the pplince. See Setting Up nd Priming the
Espresso Mker below.

Plcing The Portfilter
1. Plce the portafilter underneth
the brew head, with the hndle
fcing towrd the left.
2. Keep one hnd top the
pplince to keep it stedy while
fstening the portafilter into the
brew head. The hndle must
lign with the open lock icon on
the brew head.
3. Turn the hndle to the right to
lock the portafilter into the brew
head. The hndle must lign with
the closed lock icon on the brew
head.
Filling The Portfilter
1. Select your filter size. Use the
single-shot filter for one shot of
espresso. Use the double-shot
filter for lrger sized drinks, or
for double shot of espresso.
Align the gp in the filter with the
groove in the portafilter. Drop the
filter into the portafilter nd rotte
the filter to ensure it’s locked in
plce.
2. Use the measuring spoon to fill
the filter with espresso grounds.
Do not exceed the MAX line in
the filter.
3. Use the tmper end of the
measuring spoon to press on
the grounds. The surfce of the
espresso grounds should be
smooth fter pressing.
4. Clen ny excess grounds from
the rim of the portafilter.

Mking n Espresso
Ensure the water reservoir is filled with wter nd plced to the bck of
pplince nd the espresso mker is plugged in nd turned on.
1. To fill the portafilter with espresso,
follow the instructions under
“Filling the Portfilter” on pge 9.
2. To ttch the portafilter to the
brew head, follow the instructions
under “Plcing the Portfilter” on
pge 9.
3. Plce cup on the drip tray.
4. For single shot, tp the
ESPRESSO icon once. For double
shot, tp the ESPRESSO icon twice.
Your selected drink type will blink
until the espresso mker is done
preheting. After preheting, the
brewing process will begin.
5. When brewing is complete, the
pplince will beep three times
nd your espresso will be redy
for sipping.
6. Discrd the spent grounds by
removing the portafilter from the
brew head. Lift the filter retainer
clip so tht it’s plced over the
filter edge, nd hold it in plce s
you dump the grounds into the
trsh.

Ensure the water reservoir is filled with wter nd ttched to the bck of
pplince nd the espresso mker is plugged in nd turned on.
1. Fill the milk reservoir with milk
below the “Mx” mrk.
2. Insert the milk reservoir into the
pplince until it clicks into plce.
Note: If the milk reservoir is not
securely inside the pplince, the
cppuccino function will not be
vilble s n option.
3. Set the froth strength control to
the maximum strength.
Note: The bove setting is
recommendtion only.
4. To fill the portfilter with espresso,
follow the instructions under
“Filling the Portfilter” on pge 9.
5. To ttch the portafilter to the
brew head, follow the instructions
under “Plcing the Portfilter” on
pge 9.
6. Position the froth dispensing tube
over lrge hetproof cup.
7. For single shot, tp the
CAPUCCINO icon once. For
double shot, tp the CAPPUCCINO
icon twice. Your selected drink
type will blink until the espresso

Brewing in Mnul Mode
Ensure the water reservoir is filled with wter nd ttched to the bck of
pplince nd the espresso mker is plugged in nd turned on.
1. To fill the portafilter with espresso,
follow the instructions under
“Filling the Portfilter” on pge 9.
2. To ttch the portafilter to the
brew head, follow the instructions
under “Plcing the Portfilter” on
pge 9.
3. Plce hetproof cup over the
drip tray.
4. Tp the MANUAL ESPRESSO icon.
The text below the icon will blink
for three seconds then the brew
cycle will begin.
5. When your desired mount of
coee hs dispensed, tp the
MANUAL ESPRESSO icon gin nd
coee will cese brewing.
Note: The mximum mount of
coee tht will dispense is 14 oz.
6. Discrd the spent grounds by
removing the portafilter from the
brew head. Lift the filter retainer
clip so tht it’s plced over the
filter edge nd hold it in plce s
you dump the grounds into the
trsh.

Frothing Milk
Ensure the water reservoir is filled with wter nd ttched to the bck of
pplince nd the espresso mker is plugged in nd turned on.
1. Fill the milk reservoir with milk
below the “Mx” mrk.
2. Secure the milk reservoir in the
pplince until it clicks into plce.
3. Set the froth strength control.
4. Position the froth dispensing tube
over hetproof cup.
5. Tp the FROTH icon.
6. Milk will froth for mximum of
three minutes. To stop frothing
erlier, tp the FROTH icon gin
nd milk will cese frothing.

Clening The Portfilter nd Brew Hed
1. Turn the pplince o nd unplug
the power cord from the outlet.
Wit for the metl prts to cool
down before touching them.
2. Remove the portafilter from the
brew head nd dump the used
espresso grounds. Lift the filter
retainer clip so tht it’s plced
over the filter edge, nd hold it in
plce s you dump the espresso
grounds into the trsh.
3. Rinse the single-shot filter,
double-shot filter, nd portafilter
with wrm, sopy wter.
4. Wipe the underside of the brew
head with dmp cloth to clen
o ny excess coee grounds.
Clening The Wter Reservoir
1. Discrd leftover wter.
2. Wsh the water reservoir with sopy wter. Rinse nd dry well.
Clening The Milk Reservoir And Frothing Tube
1. Remove the milk reservoir from
the unit. If there is ny remining
milk, pour the milk into seprte
continer nd store it in the
refrigertor.
2. Wsh the milk reservoir nd milk
reservoir lid thoroughly with wrm,
sopy wter. Do not use brsive
clensers nd scouring pds.
Note: Hnd wsh only! The milk
reservoir is not dishwsher sfe.
3. Ensure there is wter in the water
reservoir.
4. Position the froth dispensing tube
over lrge hetproof cup.
5. Set the froth strength to the Clean
/ Americano position. Tp the
CLEAN icon.
6. Wit until ll the wter hs
finished dispensing before
removing the cup from
underneth the brew head
(the unit will beep three times
nd other function buttons will
repper).
7. Dispose of the wter in the mug
nd ny remining wter in the
milk reservoir nd water reservoir.
The following clening instructions should be followed fter every
use of the espresso mker.

Descling
After using the espresso mker for while, limescle will begin to build up inside
the pplince. After 300 uses, only the CLEAN icon will pper on the control
pnel, indicting the espresso mker needs to be descled.
1. Fill the removable water reservoir
with equl prts wter nd
vinegr between the “Min” nd
“Mx” mrk.
2. Use the froth dispensing
tube lever to rotte the froth
dispensing tube upwrd nd
position mug underneth it.
3. Tp the CLEAN icon.
4. Allow remining wter nd
vinegr to sit overnight in the
water reservoir.
5. On the following dy, discrd the
wter nd vinegr.
6. Rinse the water reservoir
thoroughly with tp wter nd
then pour the wter bck into the
sink.
7. Fill up the water reservoir with
wter nd begin brewing gin.
This wshes out ny remining
vinegr.
NOTE: If n odor of vinegr
persists, run nother cycle with
wter.
Troubleshooting
ISSUE SOLUTIONS
Only the CLEAN icon appears on the
control panel.
The other icons will appear when the
espresso maker is primed. See “Setting Up
and Priming the Espresso Maker” on page 8.
Only the ESPRESSO and MANUAL
ESPRESSO icons appear on the control
panel.
The other icons will appear when the milk
reservoir is correctly inserted into the unit.
Insert the milk reservoir into the unit by aligning
the groove on top of the reservoir with the
notch on the unit and pushing. It will click into
place when done correctly.
A drink has been chosen and the unit is
running, but no coee is dispensing from
the portafilter.
Detach then reattach the water reservoir to the
unit (this may need to be done a few times).
Run a clean cycle. See CLEANING THE MILK
RESERVOIR AND FROTHING TUBE on page 17.
Water is spreading from the drip tray
when brewing or cleaning.
A. Water dispenses from the froth dispensing
tube when brewing Americano or running a
clean cycle. Ensure the froth dispensing tube is
above the cup.
B. Empty the drip tray.
