INTRODUCTION
Congratulations! Thank you for purchasing the Great
Planes UltraSport 60!JimFeldmann'soriginal design was
featured as a construction article in the August,1989issue of
RC Modeler magazine, and has been hailed by manyas "the
best sport flyingairplane ever''!The design startswiththe
legendary "Kaos" wingplatform,and features modem
stylingand state-of-the-art construction techniques. The
resultisan ultra-stable, ultra-smooth flyingairplanethatdoes
what you wantit to, no more and no less.
The Ultra Sport 60is easy to build, totally predictable,
smooth-flyingand has very docile stall characteristics, mak-
ingittheultimatesportairplaneforthemodelerwhowants to
flywitha higherdegree of precision. Because itnaturally
tracks throughmaneuversbetter thanother sport airplanes,
you'llfly belterwhen you're flyingan Ultra Sport 60.
This is nota beginner'sairplane!Whilethe Ultra
Sport 60is easy to buildand flies great, we mustdiscourage
youfromselectingthiskitasyourfirstR/Cairplane. Itisfast,
highlymaneuverable,and lacks the self-recovery character-
istics of a good basic trainersuch as the Great Planes PT
Series airplanes. On the other hand,if you havealready
learned thebasics of R/C flyingand you are able to safely
handle an ''aileron trainer''airplane suchasthe GreatPlanes
TrainerSeries or Big Stick Series airplanes, the Ultra Sport
60isan excellent choice.
