All wood construction. Everything looks real – the engine cowl, the landing gear, and the pull-pull
control cable, etc.
Balsa built-up wings and tail-surfaces. For easy transportation, the wings are made up of total five
plug-in panels. The tail-surfaces are srewed onto the fuselage.
Covered with real iron-on films.
Comes with all hardware, accessories and flying wires.
Symmetrical airfoil for the upper wing and semi-symmetrical airfoil for the lower wing. Thus, you
can easily fly this Tiger Moth as a slow docile trainer as well as a fully aerobatic pattern model.
Hands-off stability when trimmed properly.

1) Turn the fuselage up side down again. The wires of the main landing gear assembly may need
spreading to match the fore and the rear slots that are located under the covering.
2) There are holes pre-drilled in the bottom of the fuselage for mounting the main landing gear.
You
don ’ t need to cut away the covering in the slots. The gear wire will push the covering into the
slots when you tighten the mounting screws . Leaving the covering in the slots will help keep the
wood from getting oil soaked.
3) Slip the main wheels on the axles and use the four wheel collars (L03) to retain the wheels in
place.
4) Finally, fix the main landing gear assembly in place by tightening the mounting screws (L05) in
the hold-down plates (L04) as shown in Fig. (3).

1) Mount the control horns onto the rudder and elevator respectively.
2) Place the tail wheel on the tail gear axle and use one of the wheel collars (L08) to retain it in
place. The other collar is used to prevent the gear from moving upward through the hole in the
tail gear mounting plate (L09)
3) Insert the sharp end of the tail-gear strut into the hole pre-drilled in the fin and apply thin CA to
secure it in the fin.
4) Refer to Fig. (4), mount the tail surfaces along with the tail wheel sub-assembly onto the tail end
of the fuselage by inserting the two long tail-surfaces mounting bolts (T03) into the holes &
tubes pre-built in the fuselage and securely tightening the bolts into the nuts

Thus, the complete tail-surfaces are fixed in place.

7
5) Tighten the two mounting screws (L10) to secure the mounting plate (L09) along with the tail
gear and wheel in place at the bottom of the fuselage end. Be sure that the tail gear can rotate
freely in the mounting plate.
6) Finally, connect the pull-pull control cables to the horns on the elevator and the rudder
respectiv-ly. Adjust the tension in the cables by turning the clevises clockwise or
counter-clockwise on the threaded connector.

2) Refer to Fig. (5), locate and remove the aileron servo access doors. Mount your aileron servos to
the access doors. Long servo horns are needed to get the pushrods outside the slots in the servo
door.
You
will need two servo extensions and one “ Y ” connector. The wing panels have pull
strings pre-installed. Tie the pull string to your aileron servo wire extensions and carefully pull
the extensions through the wing panels to the exit holes near the center. Connect your extensions
with the “ Y ” connector.
3) Connect the aileron pushrods to the aileron servo arms.
4) After installing the servos and connecting the servo extensions, re-install the access doors.

2) Note that there is a slot pre-built in the fuselage. Line up the ply wood tab at the center section
of the complete lower wing with the slot and slide the tab into this slot to locate the complete
lower wing onto the fuselage saddle.
3) Then insert the two lower wing hold-down bolts (W18) into the bli n d nuts built into the fuselage
and tighten the bolts securely to mount the complete lower wing in place.

If the wings are twisted by misadjusted flying
wires, the airplane may not be controllable in flight.
4) The crimp tubes at the rear of the rudder and elevator pull-pull cables have been left lose so that
you can adjust the length of the cables if necessary. YOU MUST CRIMP THESE TUBES with
a crimping tool or heavy-duty narrow-jaw pliers (not needle nose pliers) after you finish
adjusting the rudder and elevators. Failure to do this could cause you to lose control of the
airplane and to crash it. It
’
s a good idea to check that all of the crimp tubes are tight and then put
a drop or two of thin CA on the tubes to be doubly sure that they won ’ t slip.

Tiger Moth
Moth
Moth
Moth
It
’
s better to test fly your Tiger Moth on a fine day with moderate or little wind though it can handle
reasonably strong winds. Nevertheless, with its light flying weight and large wing area, it naturally
prefers calm conditions .
.
.
.
On take-off, the throttle should be advanced gradually just like a full size Tiger Moth .
.
.
.
You
may need a
little right rudder on the initial take-off roll .
.
.
.The tail will lift fairly quickly and only a little back stick is
needed allow the plane to climb out.
Aerobatics, such as loops and rolls, are easy with the Tiger Moth once it has been trimmed out for straight
and level flight.
To
do loops, merely face the model directly into the wind at a reasonable height. After a
gentle dive apply a medium "up" elevator, taking it half off at the top of the loop and applying it again as
the plane dives on the final part of the maneuver. Rolls are commenced again by flying directly into the
wind and then applying right or left aileron control. It is important, when the model is half way through
its roll and on its back inverted, to give medium "down" elevator to keep the aircraft level. Similarly you
can roll the plane upside down and fly inverted provided you apply the required amount of "down"
elevator. Directional control whether flying upright or inverted is easy with the use of aileron movement .
.
.
.
Spinning is easy with the Tiger Moth .
.
.
.Gradually pull throttle stick and elevator stick to stall your plane,
and apply rudder to make it enter spinning.
To
recover from a spin requires the use of rudder against the
spin, prior to or simultaneously with the elevator. In this way the model will be pitched into an even
steeper attitude but will emerge in a steep dive and pick up speed rapidly .
.
.
.Thus, a normal dive recovery
can be carried out .
.
.
.It is important that if spinning is to be done deliberately, it should be at a good
height .
.
.
.
Landings can be performed on the main gear or as “ three-pointers ” if you allow for a real slow
touch-down speed and keep your model straight and level .
.
.
.
In one word, the Tiger Moth is designed to fly like a trainer for the beginners as well as a sport flier for
the experienced pilots .
.
.
.
Good luck and happy flying!!
