required thickness that can withstand any estimated loads.
The effective design for heating up the stones and the steam room is due to numerous
bends, heat-conducting structural elements, which increase the heat dissipation area.
Also, air convection between the heater firebox, radiators and protective shield plays a
significant role.
Heater models of “Long” version are equipped with extended heating flue that allows the
heater to be fired from the adjacent room. Some of the heater models of “Long” version
are equipped with a telescopic heating flue, which allows adjusting the length of the flue
depending on the wall thickness.
Note: dimensions of heaters with a telescopic heating flue are shown in Table 1 and
Appendix 1 as a range of values.
IMPORTANT! When installing the heater after determining the final position of the
telescopic part, it is necessary to lubricate the junction with a high-temperature sealant with
an operating temperature of at least 700 °C, in order to seal the junction of the flue parts.
Heaters are equipped with special reinforcing devices (refer to Appendix 3) that enhance
combustion and additionally protect the heater firebox from exposure to high temperature.
The devices have ducts for supplying additional combustion air, and when it enters the
firebox, the air passes partially above the fire into its upper part, where post-combustion
of flue gases occurs. Additional heat is generated during this process, thus enhancing the
heater’s efficiency.
There is a grate at the bottom of the heater (refer to Appendix 3). Ash falls through the
sheets of the grate into the ash drawer, which allows to conveniently cleaning the heater
without interruption of burning. The grate is one of the most thermally loaded parts of the
heater, it is fabricated of high duty rolled steel with a thickness of 5 mm.
The heater firebox door is fabricated of steel and thermal glass. The door opening angle is
sufficient for convenient loading of fuel and allows monitoring the process of burning visually
due to the availability of the glass.
The outer surface of the heater is covered with anti-corrosion heat-resistant enamel.
IMPORTANT! Unauthorized modification of the heater is prohibited. The manufacturer
reserves the right to make modifications to the design of the heater that do not impair its
consumer properties.
The options for model Cometa 180 EU Vega Short/Long/Window are as follows:
A removable lid allows access to the inner compartment of the stone heater and also serves
as a steam restricting device.
Water is supplied to the inner compartment of the stone heater through funnels.
Cometa Vega allows obtaining several steam modes, namely:
Fine steam mode is a mode for special ultralight steam obtained by pouring water through
the funnels to the inner compartment of the stone heater, the stones in which are heated
to temperatures above 400 °С. Given the stone heater lid is installed contiguously and
the pressure is growing, the steam escapes through a nozzle located on the lid and passes
through the outer stones imitating the singing of blizzard.
Traditional steam mode is achieved when water is poured onto the outer stone heater or
onto the inner one when the lid is removed.
2.3. Heater commissioning
It is recommended to preheat the heater prior to operation. Compound for metal
protection and volatile components of the heat-resistant enamel evaporate as a result of
heating up of the heater.
