Congratulations and thank you for choosing our Grillo VOLTIQ electric bar-
becue as part of your outdoor kitchen. We are sure you will find it easy and
a pleasure to use.
Before you install and use this appliance, we would recommend you read
through the relevant sections of this manual to ensure your safety and the
correct use of the appliance.
This appliance has been tested and certified in order to comply with the
UKCA mark, see separate documentation, available on request.
We recommend that you keep this instruction booklet for future reference.

1. PURPOSE AND USE
a. This appliance is designed for cooking food as part of a Grillo
outdoor kitchen in a household or similar application. This can
include use in restaurants or hotels.
b. WARNING! Not to be used indoors.
Not certified for use for Industrial purposes or on-board ship.
WARNING! Not to be used to burn charcoal or similar combustible
fuels
WARNING! Do not use in locations where special conditions
prevail, such as the presence of a corrosive or explosive atmosphere
(dust, vapour or gas).
c. WARNING - This appliance may not be used by children, or persons
with reduced physical sensory or mental capabilities or lack of
experience and knowledge.
d. WARNING - Children must not play with this appliance
e. WARNING - Cleaning and user maintenance must not be carried
out by children.
2. LOCATION & CLIMATIC CONDITIONS
a. This Grillo appliance is IPX4 rated, which means it is made to a high
standard to have protection against rain.
b. It should not however be sprayed with a hose or pressure washer.
c. It should be protected against floodwater or flash floods caused by
heavy rain.
d. It is designed to be installed in a worktop within the designated
outdoor kitchen cabinet supplied by Grillo which gives additional
protection.
e. It is important to ensure the ventilation openings in both the
appliance and the enclosure are not obstructed or blocked

3. SAFETY INFORMATION
a. WARNING: Charcoal or similar combustible fuels must not be used
with this appliance;
b. WARNING: Appliance is heavy (about 40 kg). Should only be
moved, installed or removed (after isolating) by two persons trained
and experienced in manual handling.
c. WARNING: When positioning, ensure the supply cord is not trapped
or damaged
d. WARNING: Keep ventilation openings clear, both in the appliance
and the enclosure
e. WARNING: HOT SURFACES Do Not Touch.
4. ELECTRICAL SAFETY
a. WARNING! This appliance may only be plugged directly into a
suitable outdoor socket which is;
• correctly rated for outdoor use
• earthed
• with RCD protection (supplied through a residual current device
(RCD) having a rated residual operating current not exceeding
30mA),
• installed by a qualified electrician
• accessible-- so that it can be unplugged to isolate the appliance
for cleaning and maintenance and when not in use.
b. Servicing and removal or replacement of any parts including the
supply cord must only be carried out by an authorised service agent.
Repairs not authorised by Grillo may invalidate the warranty.
c. WARNING! Always allow to completely cool down and isolate
before cleaning and before removing any panels or covers.

d. The supply cord should be regularly examined for signs of damage
and the appliance not used if the cord is damaged. Contact Grillo if
replacement is needed.
e. Do not immerse any parts in water except for the removable drip
tray, grill plate and heat deflectors.
5. INSTALLATION
The appliance should be installed by an approved Grillo installer.
a. Ensure the appliance is Isolated (by un-plugging) whilst it is being
installed.
b. The appliance may only be used within the designated kitchen
cabinet supplied by Grillo. This is important to ensure there is
adequate air space around the appliance.
c. The unit fits into the pre-cut worktop in the cabinet and is held by
the upstand at the back. It will require a 2 person lift and should only
be installed and removed by Grillo approved installers and
technicians.
d. Please note that the rear of the BBQ can become very hot. The
kitchen layout should be arranged to prevent access to the rear to
avoid accidental touching.
e. Other surfaces can get very warm as with all similar appliances and
should not be touched.
f. Ensure position of BBQ is a safe distance from any flammable
materials and free from other hazards. It is important to carefully
consider all risks including for example timber or plastic cladding,
thatched roof, living wall, insulation, anything that could get hot or
catch fire including materials that may be hidden
g. Under no circumstances may the barbecue be used inside a
combustible worktop or cupboard but only in the Grillo unit
supplied.
h. Ensure the ventilation holes are not blocked or obstructed.
i. Ensure the cable is not trapped or damaged or stretched.
j. This appliance may only be plugged into a suitable approved
outdoor socket with RCD protection, installed by a qualified
electrician (see details above at 4a).
k. The appliance contains 2 heat deflectors and a removable inner drip
tray inside the drawer, and the grill plate
l. Warning! Ensure the appliance has cooled down before touching
any parts (see Maintenance).
m. Warning! Grill plate is heavy (about 6 kg).

6. CONTROLS
a. The appliance has very simple controls
with two control knobs for adjusting the
power to the two elements, like shown
here.
b. The “O” position is clearly indicated.
c. The setting for grilling is clockwise to the
right.
d. The upper knob controls the right-hand
side of the grill, and the lower knob
controls the left-hand side, as indicated by the graphic underneath
each knob.
7. FOOD SAFETY
a. The appliance should be operated by a competent person who
ensures that younger and vulnerable people do not come into
contact with any hot surfaces.
b. Regularly clean all surfaces that can come into contact with food.
c. Ensure all food is properly cooked, using a thermometer probe if
necessary.
d. As with all appliances it may take time and research to know how
long is needed to cook dierent foods.
8. MAINTENANCE AND CLEANING
a. Always unplug the appliance before cleaning or maintenance or
servicing and ensure the appliance has completely cooled down.
b. For cleaning use a damp cloth with water or mild household #
cleaners.
c. Do not use a hose or pressure washer on the appliance; or any
abrasive cleaners that could scratch or damage inside or outside
surfaces.
d. The appliance contains 2 heat deflectors and a removable inner drip
tray inside the drawer, and the grill plate. The drip tray should be
emptied and the parts should be cleaned after each use to avoid fat
built up which could cause a fire.
e. Warning! Ensure the appliance has cooled down before touching

any parts
f. Warning! Grill plate is heavy (about 6 kg).
g. Warning! Heat deflectors may have sharp edges, wear gloves
h. Warning! Risk of fire if fat is allowed to build up.
i. When not in use, cover the BBQ with a rain cover (once completely
cooled).
9. END OF LIFE
a. The appliance must be disposed of in accordance with WEEE and
local regulations, not with normal waste. Contact your local
authority or the manufacturer for details.
b. Grillo are registered with the Environmental Agency as a WEEE
Producer.
10. WARRANTY
a. Grillo undertake to provide the following warranty against defective
materials and workmanship aecting this appliance: 1 year from
invoice date.
This warranty is only valid where the product has not been
modified, relocated or changed in any way. It does not apply outside
of the United Kingdom unless separate arrangements have been
made in writing. Corrosion and related damage may be excluded
where kitchens are installed in coastal areas.
Grillo undertake to rectify free of charge any material fault which
develops within the period shown above, so far as is reasonable,
other than wearing parts or anything caused by unfair wear and tear
or natural weathering and aging.
