3. General safety instructions
Allpersonsentrustedwithassembly,commissioning,maintenanceandoperationmustcarefullyread
thisoperatingmanualbeforeassemblyandcommissioningofthedeviceonthemachine!Furthermo-
re this manual must always be available at the site of operation.
Thefollowingcontainsbasicinformationthatmustbeobservedforoperationandmaintenance.
3.1 Safety instructions
Observethegeneralsafetyinstructionsinthismainchapterbutalsothespecialsafetyinstructionsin
otherchaptersofthisoperatingandassemblymanual.
Warningofelectricalvoltage.
Safetyinstructionswhichmightcausehazardstopersonsincaseofnon-observanceare
markedwiththegeneraldangersymbol.
This symbol warns of hot surfaces.
Warningofsuspendedloads.
Warningofmaterialdamageduetoelectrostaticdischarge!Markspotentialriskswhich
mayresultinmaterialdamageifnotavoided.
Thisheadingisusedwhenifimproperorgeneralnon-observanceoftheoperating
manual,workinstructions,speciedworkowsandthelikemightresultindamageof
the device.
We use this term to point out particular details.
Strictly observe any instructions that are directly attached to the device and keep them in
readable condition !
3.2 Personnnel qualication and training
The personnel for operation, maintenance, inspection and assembly must have the
appropriatequalicationforthiswork.Theoperatormustclearlydenecompetence,
responsibilites and supervision of the personnel. In case the personnel does not have the
necessaryknowledge,theyhavetobetrainedandinstructedaccordingly.Theoperatoris
obligedtoensurethatthepersonnelfullyunderstandsthecontentsofthisuserinforma-
tion.

3.3 Hazards in case of non-observance of the safety instructions
Non-observanceofthesafetyinstructionscanresultinhazardstopersons,theenviron-
ment,andthedevice.Non-observanceofthesafetyinstructionsmayfurtherresultinthe
lossofanyliabilityclaims.Indetail,non-observancecanentailthefollowinghazards:
• Failure of important device functions.
• Failure of prescribed methods for maintenance and repair.
• Dangertopersonsbyelectrical,mechanicalandchemicaleects.
• Dangertotheenvironmentbyleakageofhazardoussubstances.
3.4 Obligations of the operator / user
• Ifmovable,rotating,hotorcoldmachinepartsbearrisks,thecustomermustprotect
thesepartsagainstcontact.Thisprotectionmustnotberemoved.
• Drainanyleakagesofhazardoussubstancesinawaythatnorisksforpersonsorthe
environment arise. Please also observe the data sheets or safety data sheets of the
respective manufacturers.
• Keeptoalllegalprovisions.
• Excludeanyhazardsduetoelectricalenergy.
• The examinations of pipes or hoses for safe provision, use, proper assembly and
functionhavetobecarriedoutaccordingtoregionallyapplicabledirectives.Inspection
intervals must not be exceeded.
• Replacedefectivepipesandhosesimmediatelyandprofessionally.
• Hydraulichosesandpolyamidepipesaresubjecttoanaturalagingprocessandthus
havetobeexchangedinregularintervalsaccordingtothemanufacturer‘sspecicati-
ons.
• Provide a safety data sheet of the currently used lubricant at the device.
• ObservethegenerallyapplicableOrdinanceonHazardousSubstancesinitslatest
version.

3.5 Safety instructions for maintenance, inspection and assembly
All maintenance, inspection and assembly work may only be carried out by qualied
personnelwhoissucientlyinformedbythoroughreadingoftheuserinformation.
Generally any work at the device may only be done at complete standstill and in
pressureless and disconnected condition. Use appropriate personal protective
equipment (gogglesamongothers). The shutdown procedure of the device as described
intheoperatingmanualmustbestrictlyfollowed.
Securethedeviceagainstintentionalorunintentionalrecommissioningduring
maintenanceandrepair.Putallsafetyandprotectionarrangementsbackinplaceagain
immediatelywhentheworkisnished.
Dispose of environmentally hazardous media professionally and in accordance to
therelevantocialprovisions.Cleanpolluted and contaminated surfaces before
maintenance. Wear protective equipment to that purpose. Observe the lubricant
manufacturer’s data sheets and safety data sheets, respectively the data sheets provided
bythemanufacturersofusedauxiliariesandworkingmaterials.
Checkthesurfacetemperatureofthedeviceasapossibleheattransferbearstherisk of
burns.Wearheat-resistantprotectivegloves!
Open light and rearestrictlyforbiddenduringanymaintenance,inspectionandrepair
due to re hazard.
3.6 Unauthorized modication and production of spare parts
Modication,repairandalterationsofthedeviceareonlyacceptedafterconsultationwith
themanufacturer.Originalsparepartsandauthorizedaccessoriesfromthemanufacturer
contribute to safety. The use of other parts can result in the loss of any liabilities for the
resultingconsequences.Groeneveld-BEKAwillnotassumeliabilityforpartsretrotbythe
operator.
3.7 Inadmissible modes of operation
Operationalsafetyofthedeviceisonlyguaranteedforappropriateuseasstatedintheoperating
manual.Neverexceedoffallbelowthelimitvaluesasstatedinthetechnicaldata.
3.8 Electrostatic discharge
Avoidelectrostaticdischarge!Thereareelectricalcomponentsintegratedintothedevices
whichyoucandestroybyelectrostaticdischargewhenyoutouchthem.Observethe
safetyprecautionsagainstelectrostaticdischargeacc.toDINEN61340-5-1/-3.Ensure
thattheenvironment(persons,workplaceandpackaging)iswellgroundedwhenhandling
the devices.
3.9 General hazard warning - Residual risk
Allcomponentsofthedevicearedesignedaccordingtovalidregulationsforthe
constructionoftechnicalsystemsregardingoperationalsafetyandaccidentprevention.
Independently thereof the use can lead to hazards for the user or third parties and for
other technical facilities. Therefore the device may only be used for its intended purpose
in technically faultless conditionandincompliancewiththerelevantsafetyregulations
andtheopertingmanual.Inspect the device and its attachment parts regularly and
checkthemforpossibledamage or leakages. Fluids could escape under high
pressure from pressurized components which have become leaky.

4. Intended use
The device, as part of a central lubrication system serves to convey lubricant for
the lubricationofmachinesasdescribedinthisoperatingmanual.Thedeviceis
approved for industrial and commercial use only.
The device may only be put into operation if it is installed in / attached to another
machineandisoperatedtogetherwithit.
Onlylubricantaccordingtothespecicationsofthemachinemanufacturermaybe
conveyed.
Thedevicemayonlybeusedasspeciedinthetechnicaldata(seechapter1
„Technicaldata“).Neverexceedorfallbelowthesevalues.Neverrunthedevice
without lubricant.
Unauthorized structural modications of the device are not permitted. Groeneveld-BEKA will not
assumeliabilityfordamageofpersonsorthemachineresultingthereof.
The device has been manufactured in compliance with the Machinery Directive 2006/42/EG. The
customerhastocheckwhetherfurtherdirectivesapplyforthespeciceldofapplicationandsiteof
operation. The device may not be put into operation if it is not conformant with these directives.
Use as intended also includes:
• Observanceofallchaptersandinstructionsoftheoperatingmanual.
• Carryingoutallmaintenancework.
• Observanceofallregulationsconcerningworksafetyandaccidentpreventionduringalllifecycles
of the device.
• Havingthenecessaryprofessionaltrainingandauthorizationofyourcompanytooperatethe
deviceandtocarryoutthenecessarywork.
Another use or a use beyond this is deemed improper.
5. Scope of warranty
Warrantiesregardingoperationalsafety,reliabilityandperformancewillonlybegrantedbythe
manufacturerifthedeviceisusedasintendedandunderthefollowingconditions:
• Assembly,connectionandmaintenancearecarriedoutbyauthorizedprofessionalsta.
• Thedeviceisusedaccordingtothespecicationsintheoperatingmanual.
• The limit values as stated in the technical data must never be exceeded or fallen below.
• ModicationsandrepairsofthedevicemayonlybedonebyGroeneveld-BEKA.
Guaranteeandwarrantyforanydamageatthedevicecausedbyimproperlubricant
(e.g.wearofpistons,pistonjamming,blockades,brittledseals,etc.)willexpire.
Groeneveld-BEKAwillgenerallynotassumeguarantyclaimsforanydamage
causedbylubricants,althoughthosehavebeenlaboratorytestedandreleased
byGroeneveld-BEKA,assuchdamage(e.g.byover-storedorincorrectlystored
lubricants,batchuctuations,etc.).

6. Transportandstorage
Usesuitableliftingdevicesfortransport.
Do not throwthedeviceorimposeittoshocks.
Securethedeviceagainstfallingoverorslippingduringtransport.
Observeallvalidsafetyandaccidentpreventionregulationsforthetransport.Wear
suitable protective equipmentifnecessary!Keepadequate distance to suspended
loads.Thetransporthelportheelevatingdevicemusthavetheadequate carrying
capacity.
Store the device at a cool and dry location to avoid corrosion of individual parts of
the device.
Mindalsothestoragepropertiesofthelubricantinlubricant-lleddevices.Replace
the lubricant when it is overstored (separation of oil and soap).

7. Functional description
TheBEKAONEisanelectromechanicallubricatorforlubricatingasinglelubepoint.
ThedeviceisdesignedtoconveyoilorgreaseuptoNLGI2.
TheBEKAONElubricatorismadeforanindependentoperation.Powerissuppliedbyexchangeable
batteries.
Thelubricantisoptionallycontainedinareservoirwithfollowerplateorinacartridge.Therellable
followerplatereservoirhasallingvolumeof120ml.Thecartridgewithallingvolumeof120mlis
intendedforsingleuseandcanbeeasilyreplaced.
Dependingontheusedlubricantorthetypeofbattery,andtheenvironmentalconditionsthefollow-
uppistonreservoirorthecartridgecanbeemptiedbetween1and5timeswithonesetofbatteries.

9. Commissioning
9.1 Filling the devices
9.1.1 Initial lling when using a reservoir with follow-up piston
You have to ll the ducts of the device with lubricant before you install the
follow-up piston reservoir.
• Detachtheprotectivehousingbyturningitcounter-clockwise.
Useahand-operatedgreasegunforlling.
• Cleanthedevicerst,especiallythellingttinganditsimmediatesurroundingsinordertoprevent
contamination.
• Placethehoseofthegreasegunonthellingtting(g.3left)andpressthelubricantintothe
deviceuntilitgetsvisibleintheintakearea(g.3right).

9.2 Filling the device when using a cartridge
9.2.1 Insert the cartridge
• Youreceivethecartridgelledwithlubricant.
• Detachtheprotectivehousingbyturningitcounter-clockwise.
• Unscrewthecoverfromthecartridge.
• Carefullypresssomelubricantoutofthecartridge(seeg.6left).
• Placethecartridgeontheintakeholeofthedeviceandtightenit.
Becarefulnottoovertightenthethread.
• Collectanyoutcominglubricantinasuitablereceptacleanddisposeofitprofssionally!
• Observe the safety data sheet of the manufacturer.
• Pleasemindthatthelubricantviscositychangeswiththeoperatingtemperature!
• Payattentiontoutmostcleanlinesswhenlling!

9.3 Proper lling interval
Ifyourdeviceisequippedwithareservoirwithfollowerplate,youcanalwaysrellit.
Proceedasdescribedunder9.1.3Fillingthefollowerplatereservoir.
Rellthedeviceaccordingtothetablebelowtoreachanoptimumruntime.
Ifyourdeviceisequippedwithacartidge,exchangeitasfollows:
TheBEKA-ONEshouldnotbeemptiedcompletely.Thedeviceisnotdamagedwhenemptied
completelybutwillconveyair.Thusthelubepointmightnotbesucientlyprovidedwithlubricant
andyouwillhavetoventthelinesanewafterrellingofthepump.
9.4 Insert the batteries
• Detachtheprotectivehousingbyturningitcounter-clockwise.
• Removethebatteryholderfromthehousing.
• Pushthebatteryholderdown(g.7,1).
• Tiltitforwards(g.7,2)assoonasititreleasedfromspringpressure.
• Pullthebatteryholderupwardsoutofthehousing(g.7,3).

• Insert the selected batteries. Pay attention to the recommendations in the table below
• Placethebatteryholderbackintothehousing.

9.5 Switch on the device
By default you will receive the device switched on.
Ifyouwanttocheckwhetheryourdeviceisswitchedonoro,proceedasfollows:
• Taketheactivationmagnetandapproachtheactivationareaorpressthesettingsbutton.
• PayattentiontotheError-LEDsignals:
• LEDglowsorange,deviceisswitchedon
• LEDglowsred,deviceisswitchedo
Ifyourecognizethatyourdeviceisswitchedo,pleaseswitchinonforthefurtherprocedure.
Proceed as follows:
• Taketheactivationmagnetfromtopoftheprotectivehousing(seeg.8).

pressed.
• Flashingofthecurrentmonthsettingsignalsyoutoreleasethebuttonorremovetheactivation
magnet.
• Ifyouhavereleasedthebuttonorremovedthemagnetattherighttime,thecurrentlysetmonth
settingwillashpermanently.

10. Assembly instructions
Checkthedeviceforpossibletransportdamageandforcompletenessbeforeassembly.
Removeanyattacheddevicesfortransportationsafety.
Thefollowingconditionsmustbefullledwhenyouassemblethedevicesothatitcan
be properly mounted and form with other parts a complete machine in environmentally
friendlymannerandwithoutcompromisingthesafetyandhealthofpersons.
Mountthedeviceinbalanceonbothsidesandwiththereservoiruprighttoensuresafeoperation.
Thedevicemustnotbeexposedtocentrifugalforces.
10.1 General installation instructions
Selecttheinstallationlocationforthedevicesothatitisprotectedagainstenvironmentaland
mechanicalinuencesinthebestpossibleway.
Ensurefullaccess,forexampleforrellingoflubricantorvisualinspections.
