Introduction
®
The Patriot KVL30 adapter (Figure 1) is designed to provide extended operational times by
®
increasing the available battery capacity for the Motorola KVL 3000/3000+ Radio Key-
loader (Figure 2).

The Patriot KVL30 adapter will key and latch onto the Motorola KVL 3000 / 3000+ series
Key-loader, and is designed for use with the GTS H8610-Li High Capacity Lithium Ion
rechargeable battery (Figure 3) which provides power to the device, replacing the
NTN 7394B 1200 mAh Ni/Cd battery pack.
A complete listing of compatible and approved rechargeable batteries as specified and
approved by GTS Battery Services are listed in Table 1.

The Patriot KVL30 adapter's compatible batteries can be recharged in the GTS Patriot
Multi-Chemistry, (Li-Ion, Ni/CD or Ni/MH) Charger line of products or other suppliers as
specified and approved by GTS Battery Service are listed in Table 2.

This reference guide provides basic instructions on the set-up and use of the Patriot KVL30.
Many of the parameters discussed in this document may be updated in the field as required.

Before using the Patriot HKVL30 adapter, please read all instructions and cautionary
notations on the GTS battery, and on the radio host device.

NOTE: Never install the Patriot KVL30 adapter onto the Motorola KVL 3000/3000+ Radio
Key-loader with the battery already attached. This can cause damage to the battery or device

non-approved batteries may cause personal injury and or damage to the equipment.

KVL30 Installation

Installation
® ®
1. To install the Patriot KVL30 latches directly to the Motorola KVL 3000/3000+ Radio
Key-loader exactly as if installing the NTN 7394B 1200 mAh Ni/Cd battery pack.
(See figure 1)

2. Align the Patriot KVL30 guide rails over the KVL device
®
3. Slide the Patriot KVL30 forward until latch is activated (See figure 2)

Removal
® ®
1. To remove the Patriot KVL30 from the Motorola KVL 3000/3000+ Radio Key-loader is
exactly as if removing the NTN 7394B 1200 mAh Ni/Cd battery pack.

2. Depress latch (located on rear device support) and pull the Patriot KVL30 away from
the device until guide rails are aligned and remove.

Installation
®
1. To install the battery on to the Patriot KVL30 is exactly as if installing the NTN 8610
battery packs to the radio.
®
2. Align the battery to the upper Patriot KVL30 guide and lower battery in a pivot
motion until batteries locking mechanism activates onto the Patriot KVL30.

Removal
®
1. To remove the battery from the Patriot KVL30 is exactly as if removing the NTN 8610
battery pack from the radio.
2. Depress battery latch and lift battery off pivoting towards the top of the Key-loader.

 Troubleshooting
®
If the Patriot KVL30 does not properly function after you have followed these operating
instructions:
Check to insure that the battery is charged
®
 Check to insure that the Patriot KVL30 is proper installed on to device
 Check to insure that the battery is charged
 Check to insure that the battery is proper installed on to device
 Cleaning
Periodically wipe the charger with a dry lens tissue or other cleaning materials suitable
for optical applications: such as eyeglasses
CAUTION
Do not pour, spray or spill any liquid into or onto the KVL30 Adapter.

The limits are designed to provide reasonable protection against harmful interference
when electronic devices are operated in a commercial environment.

 Warranty and Support
For warranty and service information call 1-508-650-1172. Outside North America, please
contact your local Global Technology Systems representative.
Global Technology Systems, Inc. products and devices are warranted against defects in
workmanship and materials for a period of one year from the date of shipment. The
product or device must remain unmodified and must be operated under normal and
proper conditions.
The warranty is limited to repair or replacement at Global Technology Systems, Inc.
option, with reasonable promptness after being returned and received by Global
Technology Systems, Inc. These provisions do not extend the original
warranty term for any product or device which was repaired or
replaced.
This warranty applies to the original owner and does not extend to any
product or device which was subject to misuse, neglect, accidental
damage, unauthorized repair or tampering. Preventive maintenance
activities are not covered by this warranty.
