Smart drip coffee maker

IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS
When using electrical appliances, necessary safety precautions should
always be followed to reduce the risk of tire, electric shock, and injury to
people. These safety precautions include the following
1. READ ALL INSTRUCTIONS BEFORE USING.
2. Do not touch hot surfaces. Use handles or knobs
3. To protect against electrical shock, do not immerse cord, plug, or
heating base in water or other liquid.
4. Close supervision is necessary when any appliance is used by or near
children.
5. Unplug the appliance from the outlet when not using or before
cleaning it. Please allow the appliance to cool down before putting on or
taking off parts, and before cleaning it
6. Do not operate the appliance with a damaged cord or plug. If the
appliance malfunctions or gets damaged in any manner, please refrain
from using it and return it to the manufacture for examination, repair, or
adjustment (see warranty)
7. Do not use outdoors.
8. Do not let cord hang over the edge of the table or counter. Please
refrain from touching the hot surface
9. Do not place on or near a hot gas or electric burner or in a heated
oven.
10. Do not move the appliance if it contains hot liquids; allow it to cool
down before moving it.
11. Do not use the appliance for other than intended use
12. Avoid sudden temperature changes, such as adding refrigerated
foods or cold liquids into a heated pot.
13. To disconnect. Remove the plug from the wall outlet

14. The manufacturer does not recommend the use of accessory
attachments as it may cause injuries.
15. Keep 6 inches clear from the wall and 6 inches clear on all sides.
16. Make sure the carafe is accurately cantered on the warming plate or
the water and grounds will overflow from the brew basket. An overflow
may cause personal injury or damage to property.
17. To reduce the risk of damaging the carafe and/or the risk of personal
injury, do not add cold water to the carafe if the carafe is already hot.
Allow the carafe to cool before using.
18. Do not brew coffee while the brew basket lid is open.
19. While the coffee is brewing. The in-app Pause and Serve feature
allows you to sneak a cup of coffee from the carafe. REPLACE THE CARAFE
ON THE WARMING PLATE WITHIN 30 SECONDS TO PREVENT OVERFLOW
AND POSSIBLE INJURY.
20. If the brew basket overflows or fails to empty into the carafe, do not
open the brew basket. Unplug the coffeemaker and wait for the contents
to cool before handling.
NOTE: This appliance is for HOUSEHOLD USE ONLY.
•Some countertops and table surfaces are not designed to withstand
the prolonged heat generated by certain appliances. Do not set the heated
unit on a finished wood table. We recommend placing a hot pad or trivet
under your carafe to prevent possible damage to the surface.
•Slight smoke or odor might emit during the first few times you use
the appliance: this is a normal phenomenon with many heating appliances
and should not continue after the first few uses.
WARNING: To reduce the risk of fire or electric shock, do not remove any
service covers. There are no user-serviceable parts inside the coffee
maker. Only authorized personnel should repair the coffee maker.

Before you begin
Know your Wi-Fi network and password.
Make sure that you are operating on:
iPhone or higher and iOS or higher.
Any previous iPhone or iOS may experienceslowconnections.
Android or higher.
Make sure that you connect to a GHz Wi-Fi network (smart can't
connect to GHz networks).
Cleaning your Smart Coffee Maker before first use
Make sure your first cup of coffee is as good as it can be by cleaning your
Smart Coffee Make before its first use.Just follow these simple steps:
Wash the carafe, carafe lid and the filter basket in a mixture of mild
detergent and water. Rinse each thoroughly.
Run a brew cycle with water only, without adding coffee and coffee
filter.
When brewing is complete, turn your Smart Coffee Maker off, discard
the water in the carafe and rinse the carafe, carafe lid, and filter basket.

Preparing your Smart Drip Coffee Maker for use
Selecting and Measuring Ground Coffee
For best results, use a level tablespoon for ground coffee measurement.
Make sure you use medium grind coffee for a perfect brew.

Adding Water and Ground Coffee
1. Open the top lid of the Smart Drip Coffee Maker.
2. Place a paper basket-style filter or the included reusable filter into
the removable filter basket.
Press "Continue" on
the “Hafele Smart
Living” app.
Enter your net work
and password.
Enter your network
and password. Press
"Confirm".

NOTE: If using paper filters. The sides of the filter must fit flush against
the side of the filter basket. If filter collapse occur, dampen the filter
before placing it in the filter basket. Add the desired amount of coffee and
gently shake to level the coffee.
3. Fill the water reservoir with cold, fresh water to the desired capacity
(1 cup estimate 5 ounces). For an easy and accurate filling, the water
markings on the water reservoir show the amount of water needed to
make the corresponding desired number of cups. Do not fill past the "1.L
line" or water will flow out of the Smart Drip Coffee Maker.
NOTE: The amount of brewed coffee would be slightly less than the
amount of water poured in the water reservoir. This is due to the
absorption of water by the coffee grounds.
Using your Smart Drip Coffee Maker without the smart app
1. After completing the steps in the Adding Water and Ground Coffee section
and with the carafe and the filter basket securely in place, turn the Smart
Coffee Maker on by pressing the POWER button once. The POWER button light
will turn on to signal that the Smart Coffee Maker is on and brewing.
NOTE: Brew can be stopped by pressing the POWER button a second time.
2. After the used coffee grounds have cooled, carefully remove the filter
basket and discard them.
NOTE: The brew basket drawer is hot after brewing. Always allow the Smart
Coffee Maker to cool down before cleaning.
3. Make sure the Glass Coffee Carafe is empty and in place before starting
to brew coffee.
4. Be sure to turn your Smart Coffee Maker off when no longer using it.
The button should be disabled to use TIMER and STRONG features.

Cleaning and maintaining your Smart Drip Coffee Maker
Daily Cleaning
Always unplug g the Smart Drip Coffee Maker and allow it to cool before
cleaning.
-Remove and wash the filter basket. Permanent filter, carafe and carafe
lid in a solution of hot water and mild liquid soap.
-Never use abrasive cleaners, steel wool pads, or other abrasive
materials.
CAUTION: Never immerse the Smart Coffee Maker itself in water, in any liquid
or in the dishwasher.
Cleaning the Glass Coffee Carafe
Hard water can leave a white stain on the carafe, and coffee may then turn this
stain brown.
To remove carafe stains:
1. Fill the carafe with a solution of equal parts water and vinegar and let the
solution stand in the carafe for approximately 20 minutes.
2. Discard the solution, then wash and rinse the carafe.
Do not use harsh abrasive cleaners that may scratch the carafe.
Setting and changing the time
Setting the time through Hafele Smart Living app
Open up the Hafele Smart Living app, choose your Smart Drip Coffee Maker
then select the clock icon to configure clock settings automatically.
Setting the Time Manually
1. Make sure that the WiFi butt on is disabled.
2. Hold down the MINS/HOUR button until "00:00" is blinking on the display.
3. Set current minutes by pressing the MINS/HOUR button.
4. Press the TIMER button to switch to hours.

5. Once "00:00" is blinking, set the current hour by pressing the
MINS/HOUR button.
Troubleshooting
Cannot connect to your Wi-Fi network.
Make sure you entered the correct Wi-Fi password during the Wi-Fi setup.
Check if there are problems with your internet connection. If the Wi-Fi signal is
too weak, reset your Wi-Fi router and try again.
The “POWER” light does not light up.
The Smart Drip Coffee Maker is unplugged; plug the Smart Drip Coffee Maker
into the wall outlet.
The coffee is not brewing.
1. The Smart Drip Coffee Maker is unplugged; plug the Smart Drip Coffee
Maker back into the wall outlet.
2. There's a power outage; wait for power to be restored.
3. The filter basket is not inserted correctly; insert filter basket correctly.
4. The carafe is not correctly placed on the warming plate; place the carafe
correctly on the warming plate.
The Smart Drip Coffee Maker only brews water.
There are no coffee grounds in the filter basket; add the amount of coffee to
the filter.
