How to Remove Protective Shipping Film and Packaging Tape
Carefullygrasp acornerofthe protectiveshippingfilm with
yourfingers andslowlypeelit fromtheappliance surface. Do
notuse anysharpitems to removethefilm. Removeallof the
filmbefore usingtheappliancefor thefirsttime.
Toassurenodamage isdone tothe finishoftheproduct,the
safestwaytoremove theadhesive frompackaging tapeonnew
appliancesisanapplication ofa householdliquid dishwashing
detergent.Applywitha softcloth andallow tosoak.
NOTE:Theadhesive must beremovedfrom all parts.It
cannotbe removedifitis bakedon.

communicationbetween yourapplianceandsmart device.
Byusing theSmartHQmobileapp, youwillbe able tocontrol
essentialoven operationssuchastemperature settingsand
cookingmodes usingyoursmartphoneor tablet.*
What you will need
Youroven usesyourexistinghome WiFinetworkto
communicatebetween theapplianceandyour smartdevice.
Inorder tosetupyouroven, youwillneed to gathersome
information:
1. Eachovenhasaconnectedappliance informationlabel
thatincludesanApplianceNetworkName andPassword.
Thesearethetwoimportantdetails thatyou willneed
toconnecttotheappliance.This informationis found
onalabeltypicallylocatedinside thedoor oftheovenor
drawerorintheWiFiSettings menuon theunitdisplay.
2. Haveyoursmartphoneortablet readywith theabilityto
accesstheinternetanddownloadapps.
3. Youwillneedtoknowthe passwordof yourhomeWiFi
router.Havethispasswordreadywhile youare settingup
youroven.
Connect your oven
1. Onyoursmartphoneortablet visit
GEAppliances.com/connecttolearnmoreabout
connectedappliancefeaturesandtodownload the
SmartHQmobileapp.
2. Followtheapponscreeninstructionsto connectyour
oven.
3. Oncetheprocessiscomplete,the connectionlight
locatedonyourovendisplaywill stayon solidandtheapp
willconfirmyouareconnected.
4. Iftheconnectionlight/symboldoesnot turnon oris
blinking,followtheinstructionsonthe appto reconnect.
Ifissuescontinuepleasecallat 800.220.6899and askfor
assistanceregardingovenwirelessconnectivity.
Toconnectadditionalsmartdevices,repeat steps1 and2.
Notethat anychangesormodifications totheremote enable

Everyradiant surfaceunithasa temperaturelimiter.
Thetemperature limiterprotectstheglass cooktopfrom
gettingtoo hot.
Thetemperature limitermaycyclethe surfaceunitsoff for a
timeif:
• thepan boilsdry.
• thepan bottomisnotflat.
• thepan isoff-center.
• thereis nopanonthe unit.
Radiant Glass Cooktop
Theradiantcooktopfeatures heatingunits beneatha smooth
glasssurface.
NOTE:Aslightodorisnormal whena newcooktopisused
forthefirsttime.Itis causedby theheatingofnewpartsand
insulatingmaterialsandwilldisappearin ashort time.
NOTE:Onmodelswithlight-coloredglass cooktops,it is
normalforthecookingzonesto changecolor whenhotor
coolingdown.Thisistemporaryand willdisappear asthe
glasscoolstoroomtemperature.
Thesurfaceunitwillcycleon andoff tomaintainyour
selectedcontrolsetting.
Itissafetoplacehot cookwareon theglasssurfaceeven
whenthecooktopiscool.
Evenafterthesurfaceunitsare turnedoff, theglass
cooktopretainsenoughheattocontinue cooking.To avoid
overcooking,removepansfromthesurface unitswhen the
foodiscooked.Avoidplacinganything onthe surfaceunit
untilithascooledcompletely.
• Waterstains (mineraldeposits)areremovable usingthe
cleaningcream orfull-strengthwhitevinegar.

Remote starting your oven
Tobe abletostartthe ovenremotelyonce connected to
WiFi,turn theOvenModeSelector KnobtoAPP. The oven
cannow beremotelystartedwith aconnecteddevice. The
OvenMode SelectorKnob mustbelit solidblueto start the
ovenremotely. Thebluelightis notrequiredto change the
oventemperature whileitisrunning ortoturn the ovenoff
fromthe app.Afterusingthe oven,rememberto verify that
theOven ModeSelectorKnobis litsoildblue if youwishto
startthe ovenremotelyinthe future.
Inthe SmartHQappselectyour applianceandtouch the
menuicon. FromhereselectProduct Settingstochoose
fromthe manyadditionalfeaturesavailable throughyour

Exiting Sabbath Mode

Oven Light Operation
Theoven lightisOFFfor durationofSabbath. Opening and

Sabbath Mode Power Outage Note
Ifa poweroutageoccursduring aSabbathbake, the unitwill
returnto Sabbathmodewhenpower isrestoredbut the user
willneed toturntheknob tooffand then backtothe desired
temperature. Theunit willstartwhilecomplying totheStar
Krequirements.
COOKWARE GUIDELINES
Thematerial, finish,andsizeof cookwareaffectbaking
performance.
Dark,coatedanddullpansabsorb heatmore readilythanlight,
shinypans.Pansthatabsorbheat morereadily canresultin
abrowner,crisperandthickercrust. Ifusing darkandcoated
cookwarecheckfoodearlierthanthe minimumcook time.If
undesirableresultsareobtainedwiththis typeof cookware
considerreducingoventemperatureby25º Fnext time.

Bake
Thebake modeisforbaking androasting.When preparing
bakedgoods suchascakes,cookies andpastries,always
preheatthe ovenfirst.Touse thismodeturn the OvenMode
Selector knobto thedesiredtemperature.
ConvectionBakeMultiRack(SmartHQapponly)
TheConvection Bakemodeisintended forbakingon
multipleracks atthesametime. Thismodeuses air
movementfrom theconvectionfanto enhancecooking
evenness.Your ovenisequippedwith AutoRecipe
Conversion,so itisnotnecessary toadjustthe temperature
whenusing thismode.Alwayspreheat whenusingthis mode.
Bakingtimes maybeslightlylonger formultipleracks than
whatwould beexpectedfora singlerack.
Convection Roast (SmartHQ app only)
TheConvection Roastmodeisintended forroastingwhole
cutsof meatonasingle rack.Thismode uses airmovement
fromte convectionfantoimprove browningandreduce
cookingtime. Checkfoodearlierthan therecipesuggested
timewhen usingthismode,or usetheprobe (see theProbe
sectionfor moreinformation).Itis notnecessaryto preheat
whenusing thismode.
Warm
Warmmode isdesignedtokeep hotfoodshot. Cover foods
thatneed toremainmoistand donotcover foods that
shouldbe crisp.Preheatingisnot required.Donot use Warm
toheat coldfood.Itis recommendedthatfood not bekept
warmfor morethan2hours. Tousethis mode turntheOven
ModeSelector knobtoWarm.
Broil
Alwaysbroil with the oven door and drawer closed. Monitor
foodclosely while broiling. Use caution when broiling on
theupper rack positions as placing food closer to the broil
burnerincreases smoking, splattering, and the possibility of
fatsigniting. It is not necessary to preheat when using the
Broilmode. To use this mode, turn the Oven Mode Selector
knobto Broil.
Broil Hi (SmartHQ app only)
TheBroil Highmodeusesintense heatfromthe upper
elementor burnertosearfoods. UseBroilHigh for thinner
cutsof meatand/orwhenyou wouldliketo have aseared
surfaceand rareinterior.Touse thismodefollow the
Instructionsin theSmartHQapp.
Broil Lo (SmartHQ app only)
TheBroilLowmodeuseslessintenseheatfromtheupper
elementorburnertocookfoodthoroughlywhilealso
browningthesurface.UseBroilLowforthickercutsofmeat

Internalfood temperatureisfrequentlyused asanindicator
ofdoneness, especiallyforroastsand poultry.TheProbe
modemonitors theinternalfoodtemperature andturnsthe
ovenoff whentheinternalfood temperaturereachesthe
programmedtemperature.
Alwayscheck thetemperatureatmultiple locationsinthe
foodwith afoodthermometerafter cookingtoensure that
allportions ofthefoodhave reachedtheminimum safe
internaltemperature forthatfood.
Proper Probe Placement
Afterpreparing themeatandplacing itonthe cooking pan
followthese instructionsforproperprobe placement.
• Insertthe probeintothefood, sothatthe tip oftheprobe
willrest inthecenterof thethickestpart of thefood.
Forbest performancetheprobeshould befullyinserted
intothe food.Iftheprobe isnotlocated properly, itmay
notaccurately measurethetemperatureof thecoolest
portionof thefood.Somefoods, particularlysmallitems,
arenot wellsuitedforcooking withtheprobe due totheir
shapeor size.
• Theprobe shouldnottouchbone, fatorgristle.
• Forwhole poultryinserttheprobe intothethickest part

Probe Usage
Thetemperature probecanonlybe usedwithBake,
ConvectionBake, andConvectionRoastthrough the
SmartHQapp.
To use the probe with preheating:
1. Selectthe desiredcookmode(Bake, Convection Bake,
orConvection Roast) through theapp,and selectthe
desiredcooking temperature.
2. Insertthe probeintothefood (seeProperProbe
Placement).
3. Oncethe ovenispreheated,place thefoodin the oven
andconnect theprobetothe probeoutlet,making sure
itis fullyinserted.Usecaution, theovenwalls and probe
outletare hot.
4. Whenthe probeisconnected,the appwillprompt you
toenter thedesiredfoodtemperature. Themaximum
internalfood temperaturethatyoucan setis200° F.
To use the probe without preheating:
1. Insertthe probeintothefood (seeProperProbe
Placement).
2. Placethe foodintheoven andconnectthe probe intothe
probeoutlet intheoven.
3. Throughthe app,selectthedesired cookmode(Bake,
Convection Bake,or Convection Roast), cooking

Cooktop Surface
Donotuse ovencleaners, abrasive cleansers,strong liquid
cleansers,steelwool, plasticscouring pads, orcleaning powders
onthecooktop surface.Clean with amild soapandwater ora
50/50solutionof vinegarand water. Rinsewith cleanwaterand
drywitha softcloth. When cleaningsurfaces, makesurethat
theyareat roomtemperature and notin directsunlight.
Spillageofmarinades, fruitjuices, tomato saucesand basting
liquidscontainingacids maycause discoloration andshould be
wipedupas soonas hot surfacescool, thencleanand rinse.

2. Usea single-edgerazorbladescraper atapproximatelya
45°angle againsttheglasssurface andscrapethe soil. It
willbe necessarytoapplypressure totherazor scraper
inorder toremovetheresidue.
3. Afterscraping withtherazorscraper, spreadafew drops
ofceramic cooktopcleaneronthe entireburnedresidue
area.Use anon-scratchcleaningpad toremoveany
remainingresidue.
4. Foradditional protection,afterallresidue hasbeen
removed,polish theentiresurfacewith ceramiccooktop
cleanerand apapertowel.
Metal Marks and Scratches
1. Becarefulnotto slidepots andpans acrossyourcooktop.
Itwillleavemetal markingson thecooktop surface.
Thesemarks areremovableusingthe ceramiccooktop
cleanerwith anon-scratchcleaningpad forceramic
cooktops.
2. Ifpots withathinoverlay ofaluminumor copper
areallowed toboildry,the overlaymayleave black
discolorationon thecooktop.
Thisshould beremovedimmediatelybefore heating
againor thediscolorationmaybe permanent.

Damagefrom Sugary Spills andMelted Plastic
Specialcare should be taken when removing hot substances
to avoid permanent damage of the glass surface.Sugary
spillovers(such as jellies, fudge, candy, syrups) or melted
plasticscan cause pitting of the surface of your cooktop
(notcovered by the warranty) unless the spill is removed
whilestill hot. Special care should be taken when removing
hotsubstances.
Besure touseanew, sharprazorscraper.
Donot useadullor nickedblade.
1. Turnoff allsurfaceunits.Remove hotpans.
2. Wearingan ovenmitt:
a. Usea single-edgerazorbladescraper (ceramic
cooktopscraper) tomovethespill toacool area on
thecooktop.
b. Removethe spillwithpapertowels.
3. Anyremaining spillovershouldbeleft untilthesurface of
thecooktop hascooled.

Donot allowexcesswaterto runintoany holes orslotsin the
door.
Wipedish soapoveranybaked-on spattersonthe glass. Use
asingle sidedsafetyrazorblade tocleanit off. Thenwipe
overthe glasswithasoapy clothtoremove any residueand
dryoff.
Thearea outsidethegasketcan becleanedwith a soap-filled
plasticscouring pad.Donotrub orcleanthe door gasket-it
hasan extremelylowresistanceto abrasion.
Ifyou noticethegasketbecoming worn,frayedor damaged
inany wayorifit hasbecomedisplaced on thedoor,you
shouldhave itreplaced.

Oven Light Replacement
NOTE: Theglass covershouldberemoved onlywhencold.
Wearinglatex glovesmayoffera bettergrip.
Beforereplacing thebulb,disconnectelectrical powertothe
ovenat themainfuseor circuitbreakerpanel. Let thebulb
coolcompletely beforeremovingit.For yoursafetydo not
toucha hotbulbwitha dampcloth.If you dothebulb may
break.
To remove:
Turnthe glasscovercounterclockwise1/4 turnuntilthe tabs
ofthe glasscoverclearthe groovesofthe socket andpull
thecover off.Removethebulb.
To replace:
Putin anew40-wattappliance bulb.Placethe tabs ofthe
glasscover intothegroovesof thesocket.Turn the glass
coverclockwise 1/4turn.
NOTE:
• A40-watt appliancebulbissmaller thanastandard
40-watthousehold bulb.
• Reconnectelectrical powertothe ovenoncethe newbulb
isinstalled.
• Forimproved lightinginsidetheoven, cleantheglass
coverfrequently usingawetcloth. Thisshouldbe done
whenthe oveniscompletelycool.
OVEN DOOR
Thedoor isveryheavy.Be carefulwhenremoving and lifting
thedoor. Donotliftdoor bythehandle.
To Remove the Door:
1. Fullyopen thedoor.
2. Pullthe hingelocksupand awayfromthe range frameto
theunlocked position.
3. Firmlygrasp bothsidesofthe doornearthe top.
4. Closedoor untilthetopof thedooris approximately 6”
fromthe rangeframe.
5. Liftdoor upandawayfrom therangeuntil both hinge
armsare clearoftheslots intherange frame.
To Replace the Door:
1. Firmlygrasp bothsidesofthe doornearthe top.
2. Withthe dooratthesame angleasthe removal position,
restthe notchontheunderside oftheleft hinge armon
thebottom edgeoftheleft hingeslot.The notch inthe
hingearm mustbefullyseated intothebottom of the
slot.Repeat fortherightside.
3. Fullyopen thedoor.Ifthe doorwillnot fully open,the
notchesin thebottomsofthe hingearmshave not
seatedcorrectly inthebottomedge oftheslot. Lift the
dooroff therangeandrepeat previousstep.
4. Pushthe hingelockstowardthe rangecavityand down
tothe lockedposition.
5. Closethe ovendoor.
