General
T is service instruction is intended for t e removal and replacement of knives and ceramic
bus ing on RG-400i dicing grids.
T is service instruction is prepared for t e use of trained service tec nicians and s ould not be
used by t ose not properly qualified.
Installation, operation and cleaning
Refer to HALLDE User Manual.
Tools
•Standards set of and tools
•Rubber or plastic mallet
•HALLDE tool for inner lock ring (HALLDE article number 62449)
Thread locking
•Nylock screws
•Loctite 603
•Loctite Activator 7649

Removal and replacement of part
1. Heat t e dicing grid in an oven for 10 minutes (200°C/390°F) or use a eat gun to eat t e
centerpiece and ceramic bus ing.
2. Place t e dicing grind on a support to make sure a minimum of 5 cm (2”) free space under t e
dicing grid. A sauce pan can be used to support t e dicing grid. Use t e HALLDE inner lock ring
tool and a mallet to carefully knock loose t e ceramic bus ing.
3. Cool t e dicing grid and ceramic bus ing in water.

4. Place t e dicing grid on t e support facing upside down. Use t e HALLDE inner lock ring tool
and a mallet to carefully knock loose t e inner locking ring.
5. Clean t e inner locking ring, ceramic bus ing and inside of dicing grid frame to remove all
residue of Loctite.

6. Undo t e screws t at lock t e outer locking ring.
7. Carefully flip over t e dicing grid and remove t e outer looking ring.
8. Remove and replace t e knives.
9. Assemble t e outer locking ring.
Note! New Nylock screws must be used, do not re-use t e old Nylock screws.

10. Position t e dicing grid on t e support, s arp side of knives facing up.Use a mallet and t e HALLDE
inner lock ring tool knock t e inner locking ring in position.
Note! Make sure t at t e locking ring is pus ed all t e way down against t e knives.

11. Turn t e dicing grid upside down and place it on a flat surface, protect t e knives wit a clot .
12. Position t e ceramic bus ing in t e dicing grid, c amfered surface facing up. T e ceramic
bus ing s ould easily slide up and down and reac t e bottom of t e dicing grid. W en at t e
bottom t e edge of t e ceramic bus ing s ould be just below t e steel edge of t e dicing grid
frame.

13. Remove t e ceramic bus ing and apply Loctite activator 7649 to t e outside of t e ceramic
bus ing. Let it dry for a minute. It can eit er be brus ed on or sprayed. Only a t in cover is
needed.

14. Apply Loctite 603. Apply it at t e top of t e centerpiece. See pictures below.

15. Insert t e ceramic bus ing wit t e c amfered side up and make sure it rests at t e bottom.
Wipe off any excess fluid on bot sides.
16. Rest t e dicing grid wit knives facing down and let t e Loctite set for 2 ours before t e dicing
grid us put back in use.
