Installation Guide
Description of Vehicle Counting
Vehicle counting is a function for estimating the number of vehicles that cross the lines set by the user on the monitoring screen.

1.1 Vehicle Counting Scenario
• After the center of the vehicle moves from a distance that is as far away from the set line as the size of the vehicle and
crosses the line, the vehicle is counted when it moves further away than a distance the size of the vehicle.

WiseAI application settings
In WiseAI, the vehicle counting function can operate in the following way.

1Run [WiseAI App].
2Click [Statistics] on the top tab.
3Click [Vehicle counting].

Click the On button ( ) at the top to enable the
vehicle counting function.
5Set the lines and direction of movement where you
need to count vehicles.
AYou can set up to two lines, and
you can add, edit, and delete them.
BYou can change the direction of vehicle movement by
clicking .
CAfter selecting the set line, you can reset the line.
DThe minimum length of a segment of an area is 5% of
the screen’s diagonal length.
EThe added line is displayed in the list, and you can set
the name of each line.
A line name must be between 1 and 63 alphanumeric
characters.
FWhen you click the recycle bin icon from the list, you
can delete each line.
6Vehicle counting data is displayed in the table at the
bottom of the screen, divided into ve types.

Camera installation guide
The vehicle counting function provides optimal performance when installed and operated according to this installation guide.
Since the AI video statistics function built into the camera can be aected by the surrounding lighting or the camera angle,
please refer to the following information and install it carefully for optimal performance.

This installation guide guides you through the minimum recommendations you need to follow to use the
camera's various AI functions.
If you do not follow the installation instructions, the performance of the functions cannot be guaranteed.

3.1 Recommended Camera Installation Conditions
These are the recommended installation conditions for ensuring stable vehicle counting performance.
The recommended minimum installation conditions for the camera are a height of 3 m or more, angle of 45° or more.
Objects can be detected from at least 5 m from the camera installation location. For stable detection, it is recommended to
install the camera at a side-view angle.

Installation height 3 m or more, 10 m or less
Installation angle Over 45°
Shooting distance
Daytime: 5 m or more
Nighttime: Since it depends on the light level of the surrounding environment,
make sure to check.

Sensing performance limitations
The vehicle counting function may experience degradation in detection performance depending on the installation location and
status of the camera.
The following is a guide for situations in which detection performance is degraded.

The vehicle counting function does not work in areas set to [Exclude area].
If a vehicle is loitering near the line (e.g. repeatedly entering/exiting the line)
If a vehicle is repeatedly entering/exiting from the border of the line
If a moving vehicle is blocked by the background or other objects near the line
If a vehicle is not detected due to the minimum/maximum detection size and sensitivity set in the [Common setup] menu
If there is a gradual or sudden change in lighting
(e.g. sunrise/sunset, vehicle lights shining from outside, changes in the color or brightness of nearby lighting xtures)
If the number of vehicles at the line at the same time (concurrent count) is ve or more
If two or more vehicles pass by while being very close
If the area is highly crowded (e.g. if 70% or more in the monitoring video are moving objects)
If the camera shakes
