2. Do not subject the Spotting Scope lenses
to direct sunlight. Light ray concentration
may cause a fire and/or burns.
3. Do not use when tired or when under the
influence of alcohol, drugs or medication.
4. This product is not a toy. Do not allow
children to play with or near this item.
5. Use as intended only.
6. Inspect before every use; do not use
if parts are loose or damaged.
7. Have product serviced by a qualified repair
person using only identical replacement parts.
8. WARNING: This product contains di (2-ethylhexyl)
phthalate (DEHP), a chemical known to the State
of California to cause cancer and birth defects
or other reproductive harm. (California Health
& Safety Code § 25249.5, et seq.)
9. The warnings, precautions, and instructions
discussed in this instruction manual cannot cover all

Operation
Read the ENTIRE IMPORTANT SAFETY INFORMATION section at the beginning of this
manual including all text under subheadings therein before set up or use of this product.
General Operating Instructions
Note: Do not place the Spotting Scope in water
or use in the rain. The Scope is not waterproof.
1. Remove the protective Lens Cap.
2. Look into the Eyepiece on the Spotting Scope
and rotate the Focusing Knob in either direction
to focus on the object being viewed. Rotate
Knob until a clear image is obtained.
3. To zoom in or out, rotate the Zoom Ring
to the desired magnification setting. Use
the Focusing Knob to refocus.
4. If strong sunshine is affecting visibility,
extend the Sunshade by pulling it out.

5. If the Spotting Scope is moved from a cold
environment into a warmer one, condensation
may form on the lens. This is a normal reaction
which will disappear in about one hour.
Mounting Spotting Scope on Tripod
1. Pull out the Tripod legs and place the
Tripod on a level, stable surface.
2. Place the Mounting Bracket that is attached to
the Spotting Scope onto the Tripod Head.
3. Thread the Screw Knob on the Tripod Head into the
Mounting Bracket attached to the Scope and firmly
tighten to secure the Spotting Scope in place.
Maintenance and Servicing
Procedures not specifically explained in this manual must
be performed only by a qualified technician.
TO PREVENT SERIOUS INJURY FROM TOOL FAILURE:
Do not use damaged equipment. If abnormal noise or vibration
occurs, have the problem corrected before further use.
Cleaning and Maintenance
1. BEFORE EACH USE, inspect the general
condition of the Spotting Scope. Check for:
• loose hardwar
• misalignment or binding of moving parts
• cracked or broken parts
• any other condition that may
affect its safe operation.
2. AFTER USE, replace the Lens Cap and place
the Spotting Scope in its case. Store indoors in a
moisture-free environment out of children’s reach.
3. To clean the lenses, use a soft, lint-free cloth
dampened with a small amount of lens cleaning
solution. Do not pour the lens cleaning solution
directly on the lens. Do not use excessive pressure
to clean the lenses or scratching may occur.

Harbor Freight Tools Co. makes every effort to assure that its products meet high quality and durability
standards, and warrants to the original purchaser that this product is free from defects in materials
and workmanship for the period of 90 days from the date of purchase. This warranty does not apply to
damage due directly or indirectly, to misuse, abuse, negligence or accidents, repairs or alterations outside
our facilities, criminal activity, improper installation, normal wear and tear, or to lack of maintenance.
We shall in no event be liable for death, injuries to persons or property, or for incidental, contingent,
special or consequential damages arising from the use of our product. Some states do not allow the
exclusion or limitation of incidental or consequential damages, so the above limitation of exclusion
may not apply to you. THIS WARRANTY IS EXPRESSLY IN LIEU OF ALL OTHER WARRANTIES,
EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING THE WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY AND FITNESS.
To take advantage of this warranty, the product or part must be returned to us with transportation charges
prepaid. Proof of purchase date and an explanation of the complaint must accompany the merchandise.
If our inspection verifies the defect, we will either repair or replace the product at our election or we may
elect to refund the purchase price if we cannot readily and quickly provide you with a replacement. We will
return repaired products at our expense, but if we determine there is no defect, or that the defect resulted
from causes not within the scope of our warranty, then you must bear the cost of returning the product.
This warranty gives you specific legal rights and you may also have other rights which vary from state to state.
