Playback Basics
During normal playback of MP3 discs,
pressing the CDPor CDRDisplay Button
O_ will showthe following informa-
tion, in order:
Elapsedfloe of currenttrack-_ RemainhlgTime
of currenttrack _ CurrentBackNumber-_ File
nameof Current]rack (Upto the first sixdigits)
lo readthe total time of all tracksrecorded
on an MP3disc,thedisc mustbestopped
Then,pressthe CDPor CDRDisplay Button
O_ (asappropriate)forthreeseconds,until
aTTL TIME ON messageappearsin the
Time/MessageDisplayr-i, Thenpressthe
CDPor CDR Display Button _ againto
alternatebetweena disp(ayofthe total number
of tracksandthe total time of the disc,Press
andholdtheCDPorCDRDisplayButton_
againforthreesecondsunflla TTL TIME OFF
messageappearsintheTime/MessageDisplay[]
to returnto standarddisplay,
While MP3playbackispossiblefrom boththe
CDPandCDRdecks,onlyone MP3discmaybe
playedat atime, ]fyou loadtwo MP3discsat
the sametime, bothMP3 Indicators [] will
flash,Pressthe Play Button I(_i'1_ k'¥1for
the deckyouwishto playfirst,and the MP3
Indicator [] abovethat deckwill continueto
flashto indicateactiveMP3p(ayback,
Ifadiscwith MP3data isinboth decks,eitherin
the form of anMP3-onlydisc,Mu(tisess(ondiscs,
or one of each,an MP3 ON messagewill flash
threetimes in the centerof the Message

HDCD Playback
HDCD,which standsfor E(ighDefinition
CompatibleDigital,isaspecialrecordingprocess
that enablesthe CDR30to deliverthe ultimate
in CDaudioplaybackTheCDR3O'scircuitry
takesadvantageofthe specialHDCDrecording
processwhen HDCD-encodeddiscsareused,and
it isalsocomp(etelycompatiblewith non-HDCD
discs,which benefitfrom the unit's advanced
digital-to-analogconverters
No specialadjustmentis neededto play HDCD
encodeddiscs,Simp(yusethe disc asyouwould
anyother CD,Although thesediscsalsop(ayon
conventionalCDp(ayers,whenplayedon the
CDR30the specialHDCDdecodingcircuitryis
automaticallyactivated,deliveringextraordinary
fidelityandthe highestpossibleoverallquality,
TheCDR30will playbackandinternallydecode
HDCDdiscsfrom eitherthe CDPor CDRdecks,
However,whenthe HDCDdecodingisdonein
anexternalreceiveror processorusingadigital
output connectionfrom the CDR30, playbackof
HDCDor DTS'-encodeddiscsmustbemadefrom
the Play/CDPDeck [] only

individualtracks,dependingon howthe disc's
producersprogramthe information
Whenadisc'sfable of Contents(TOC)hasbeen
read,but the discisstopped,pressthe CDText
Button _ for the deckin use(eitherthe left
side,Play/CDPdeckor the right side,Record/CDR
deck)to viewthe title of the discfollowed bythe
disc'sartist
Whena discwith CDfext informationis p(aying,
pressthe CD Text Button !_ for the deckin
use(eitherthe leftside,P(ay/CDPdeckor the right
side,Record/CDRdeck)to viewthe nameof the
trackthat isplayingandthe artistfor thattrack,
Notes on CDTextDisplay:
• Ifthe CDfext buttonsarepressedwhen the
disc p(ayingdoesnot containCDTextinforma-
tion, a NO TEXT messagewill flashthree
times in the Time/Message Display [],
• CDfext displayswill appearonly in English.
• Onlycapital letterswill bedisp(ayed,and lower
caseletterswill becapitalized.
• Blankspacesmayoccasionallyappearin place
of invalidtext characters
Search
Youmayquicklyscanthroughthe contentsof a
discwhile listeningto the p(aybackat high speed
in forwardor reverse,To moveforwardthrougha
disc,pressthe Forward Search Button _ on
the remoteor pressand hold the Next Button
_'_] on the front panelthat isappropriatefor
the deckin use,Tomovebackwardsthrougha
disc,pressthe ReverseSearchButton O on
the remote,orpressandholdthePrevious Button
_r_R! on the front panelthat isappropriatefor
the deckin use,Whenusingthe remote,always
rememberto makecertainthat youhaveselected
the deckyouwishto controlbypressingthe

Track Skip
Tomovefromone trackon adiscdirectlyto
another,enter thenumberfor the desiredtrack
with the NumericKeys_, Thediscwill pause
brieflyto locatethe track,andthen immediately
playit,Whenenteringa twodigit track number,
the seconddigit mustbe enteredwithinthree
secondsof the firstdigit
Tomoveto the nexttrackon a discbycycling
through the (ndividua]tracks,pressthe Next
Button _) onthe remote,or the appropriate
