GENERAL SAFETY RULES
Do not touch areas around the muffler or cylinder of a gas
powerhead.Thesepartsgethotfromoperation.Contact
with hot surfaces could result in possible serious personal
injury.
 Alwaysstoptheengineormotorandremovethespark
plugwire,disconnectfromthepowersupply,orremove
the battery pack before making any adjustments or
repairs.
WHEN USING AN ELECTRIC OR BATTERY
POWER HEAD:
 Donotleaveappliancewhenpluggedin.Unplugfrom
outletorremovethebatterypackwhennotinuseand
beforeservicing.
 Donotallowtobeusedasatoy.Closeattentionisnec-
essarywhenusedbyornearchildren.

 Do not use with damaged cord, plug, or battery. If
appliance is not working as it should, has been dropped,

 Donotliftuporholdthesnowthrowerabovetheground
when operating, which can result in loss of control and
possibleseriouspersonalinjury.Onlyoperatethesnow
thrower in accordance with the operating instructions
providedinthisoperator’smanual.
Alwaysstoptheengineormotorandremovethespark
plugwire,disconnectfromthepowersupplyorremove
thebatterypackbeforemakinganyadjustments,chang-
ingaccessories,orstoringthesnowblower.Suchpreven-
tivesafetymeasuresreducetheriskofstartingthesnow
bloweraccidentally.
 Savetheseinstructions.Refertothemfrequentlyanduse
themtoinstructotherswhomayusethistool.Ifyouloan

Wear rubber boots when operating the snow thrower.
Protective footwear will protect your feet and improve
yourfootingonslipperysurfaces.Donotgobarefootor
wearsandals.
Keepfirmfootingandbalance.Donotoverreach.Over-
reachingcanresultinlossofbalance.
Do not operate the snow thrower in a direction that will
causesnowtobethrownonpeopleorpets.Thrownsnow
orotherobjectscancauseseriouspersonalinjuries.
StoreIdleSnowThrowersIndoors—Whennotinuse,
snow thrower should be stored indoors in a dry, locked
upplace—unpluggedandoutofthereachofchildren.
Neverusesnowthrowernearfires,fireplaces,hotashes,
barbecuepits,etc.Usenearfiresorashescanspread
firesandresultinseriousinjuryand/orpropertydamage.
Neverusesnowthrowertospreadchemicals,fertilizers,
or any other toxic substances. Spreading these sub-
stancescouldresultinseriousinjurytotheoperatoror
bystanders.
Neverplacesnowthroweronanysurface,exceptahard,
cleansurfacewhenmotorisrunning.Gravel,sand,and
other debris can be picked up by the impeller and thrown
at the operator or bystanders, causing possible serious
injuries.
Checktheworkareabeforeeachuse.Removeallobjects
such as rocks, broken glass, nails, wire, or string which
canbethrownorbecomeentangledinthemachine.
Do not use snow thrower on ice, which can cause the
operator to slip and fall, resulting in possible serious
personalinjury.
 Neverusesnowthroweronfrozenlakes,rivers,orsimilar
surfaces.Seriousinjuryordeathcouldoccuriftheice
breaks.
 Neverusethesnowthroweronarooftoporotherunstable
surface, which can result in death or serious personal
injury.
 Thesnowthrowerisdesignedtomovelooseorpowdery
snowthathasnotbeencompacted.Attemptingtoremove
heavyloadsofcompactedsnoworfrozenaccumulation
candamagethetool.

JOINING THE POWER HEAD TO THE SNOW
THROWER ATTACHMENT
See Figure 2.
WARNING:
Never attach or adjust any attachment while power
head is running. Failure to stop the engine or motor
couldcauseseriouspersonalinjury.
Thesnowthrowerattachmentconnectstothepowerhead
bymeansofacouplerdevice.
 Removethesparkplugwire,disconnectfromthepower
supply,orremovethebatterypack.
 Removethehangercapfromtheattachment.
 Loosentheknobonthecouplerofthepowerheadshaft.
 Push in the button located on the snow thrower
attachment.Alignthebuttonwiththeguiderecessonthe
powerheadcouplerandslidethetwoshaftstogether.
Rotate attachment shaft until button locks into the posi-
tioninghole.
ASSEMBLY
NOTE:Ifthebuttondoesnotreleasecompletelyinthe
positioninghole,theshaftisnotlockedintoplace.Slightly
rotate from side to side until the button is locked into
place.
 Tightentheknobsecurely.
WARNING:
Be certain the knob is fully tightened before operating
equipment.Checkitperiodically for tightness during
usetoavoidseriousinjury.
REMOVING THE ATTACHMENT FROM THE
POWER HEAD

Stoptheengineormotorandremovethesparkplugwire,
disconnectfromthepowersupply,orremovethebattery
pack.
 Loosentheknob.
 Pushinthebuttonandtwisttheshaftstoremoveand
separateends.

USING THE SNOW THROWER ATTACHMENT

WARNING:
Engine housing on gas power heads may become hot
duringsnow throweroperation. Do notrestorplace
your arm, hand, or any body part against the engine
housingduringsnowthroweroperation.Onlyholdthe
snow thrower as shown in figure 3 with all body parts
clear of engine housing. Extended contact with the
enginehousingcanresultinburnsorotherinjuries.

OPERATION
WARNING:
Alwayspositiontheunitontheoperator’srightside.The
useoftheunitontheoperator’sleftsidewillexpose
the operator to hot surfaces and can result in possible
burninjury.
WARNING:
Toavoidburnsfromhotsurfaces,neveroperateunit
withthebottomoftheengineabovewaistlevel.
WARNING:
Never use snow thrower on frozen lakes, rivers, or
similarsurfaces.Deathorseriousinjurycouldoccurif
theicebreaks.
WARNING:
Never use the snow thrower on a rooftop or other
unstable surface, which can result in death or serious
personalinjury.
WARNING:
Do not use snow thrower on ice, which can cause the
operator to slip and fall, resulting in possible serious
personalinjury.
WARNING:
Donotwearlooseclothing,scarves,orjewelry.They
can be caught in moving parts and cause death or
seriouspersonalinjury.
WARNING:
Keep all snow discharge pointed away from all electrical
devicestoreducetheriskofelectrocutionorelectric
shock.
WARNING:
Neverpointthesnowthrowerinthedirectionofpeople
orpets.Thrownsnoworotherobjectscancauseseri-
ouspersonalinjuries.
WARNING:
Make sure the area to be cleared is free of stones,
sticks,wires,gravel,andotherobjectsthatcouldbe
accidentally thrown by the snow thrower in any direc-
tionandcauseseriouspersonalinjurytotheoperator
andothers.
When using the snow thrower attachment, hold the unit with
your right hand on the rear handle and your left hand on
thefronthandle.Keepafirmgripwithbothhandswhilein
operation.Thesnowthrowershouldbeheldatacomfortable
positionwiththerearhandleabouthipheight.
NOTE: When used with a gas power head, always operate
atfullthrottle.Prolongedcuttingatpartialthrottlewillresult
inoildrippingfromthemuffler.Iftemperatureisbelow40°F,
allow the engine to warm up by running it in the half choke
positionforapprox.15–30secondsbeforebeginningsnow
throweroperation.
Takenoticeofthedirectionofthewindbeforebeginning.
When possible, discharge snow in the same direction as
thewindtopreventsnowfrombeingthrownbackinto
yourface.
Workinonedirection.Startthesnowthrowerandpush
forward to clear snow, then stop the engine or motor as
you return to the starting point to begin plowing another
strip.
Thesnowthrowerhasaclearingdepthof4in.Ifyour
snowisdeeperthan4in.,itmaytakemorethanonepass
toclear.
Iftheunitcomesincontactwithanytypeofobstruction
or debris during use, stop the snow thrower, disconnect
frompowersupply,removetheobstruction,andinspect
theunitcarefullyfordamagebeforeproceeding.
WARNING:
Neverreachintotheimpellerorplaceanybodypartin
front of the snow thrower when the unit is operating or
whentheunitispluggedinorhasabatteryinstalled.
Alwaysensureallmovingpartshavestoppedandthe
snow thrower has been unpugged, battery pack has
beenremoved,orsparkplugwirehasbeendisconnect-
edbeforeclearinganyobstructions.Failuretofollow
theseinstructionscanresultinseriouspersonalinjury.
Somepartsofthesnowthrowercanfreezeunderextreme
weatherconditions.Donotattempttooperatetheunit
withfrozenparts.
Whenfinished,allowtheunittorunforseveralminutes
toallowallsnowtocleartheimpellerbeforestoring.
NOTE: The snow thrower is designed to move loose or
powdery snow that has not been compacted. Attempt-
ingtoremoveheavy loads ofcompactedsnowor frozen
accumulationcandamagethetool.

LUBRICATION
Allofthebearingsinthisproductarelubricatedwithasuf-
ficient amount of high grade lubricant for the life of the unit
under normal operating conditions. Therefore, no further
bearinglubricationisrequired.
ATTACHING THE STORAGE HANGER
See Figure 4.
Therearetwowaystohangtheattachmentforstorage.
 Tousethehangercap,pushinthebuttonandplacethe
hangercapovertheendoftheattachmentshaft.Slightly
rotate the cap from side to side until the button locks into
place.
 Thesecondaryholeintheattachmentshaftcanbeused
forhangingpurposesaswell.
STORING THE ATTACHMENT
CAUTION:
Ensure all melted snow that may drip from the snow
throwerisproperlywipeduptopreventaslipandfall
hazard.
Wipethesnowthrowerwithacleandrycloth.
Checkallnuts,bolts,knobs,screws,fasteners,etc.,for
tightness.
Inspectmovingpartsfordamage,breakage,andwear.
Haverepairsmadeonanydamagedormissingparts.
Store snow thrower indoors in a clean, dry place out of
thereachofchildren.
Donotstorenearcorrosivematerialssuchasfertilizeror
rocksalt.
WARNING:
Beforeinspecting,cleaning,orservicingthemachine,
shutoffengineormotor,waitforallmovingpartsto
stop, and disconnect spark plug wire and move it
away from spark plug, disconnect from power supply,
or remove the battery pack. Failure to follow these
instructions can result in serious personal injury or
propertydamage.

Failuretodosocouldresultinobjectsbeingthrowninto

GENERAL MAINTENANCE
Avoid using solvents when cleaning plastic parts. Most
plasticsaresusceptibletodamagefromvarioustypes of
commercialsolventsandmaybedamagedbytheiruse.Use
cleanclothstoremovedirt,dust,oil,grease,etc.
WARNING:
Do not at any time let brake fluids, gasoline, petroleum-
basedproducts,penetratingoils,etc.,comeincontact
withplasticparts.Chemicalscandamage,weakenor
destroy plastic which may result in serious personal
injury.
MAINTENANCE
