Operating instructions / Technical data
Wall heating panel WHE 170
This document describes the function and installation of wall heating panels and
provides important information for safe handling during installation and initial
operation. Do not start the installation before you are sure that you have technically
understood the instructions and only carry out the work in the correct order given in
these instructions!
Intended use
The wall heating element type WHE described in this document is an electrically
operated infrared panel for indoor use. The wall heating element may only be
operated in connection with a temperature limiter (e ternal thermostat). In order to
comply with the eco-design guidelines, a room thermostat with a built-in weekly
programme and "window open detection" is ideally recommended.
Any other use than described above is not permitted and can lead to danger or
destruction of the heating system. If you are unsure, contact the supplier or
manufacturer for further information.

Where you must not use the wall heating panel:
- Wall heating panels are not intended for outdoor use or for use in wet rooms,
such as bathrooms, showers and similar wet places.

Before the first commissioning:
- Check the Thermotex heating panel for visible damage and check the
accessories supplied for completeness.
- In the event of damage or other defects to the panel, contact the supplier or
manufacturer.
Commissioning:
- The infrared panel heating system is equipped with a connection cable with a
flat mains plug.
- Connect the panel to the mains via a socket thermostat.
To set the room temperature, please read the instructions for use provided for
this purpose. emove the heater from the packaging, lay it out on a flat
surface and plug the mains plug into the socket.
- The wall heating panel can also be connected directly to the mains and be
controlled by an appropriate room thermostat.
Please contact a qualified electrician for doing this.
Safety instructions:
- All work must be carried out in accordance with national electrical and the
relevant local regulations.
Installation and commissioning without a shockproof plug (fixed installation to
the mains) must be carried out by a licensed specialist.
- If there are visible defects in the supply cable or the heating panel, the unit
must not be put into operation. Please inform the customer service
immediately!
- The unit has an integrated temperature limiter of 80°C as an additional safety
feature. However, this is no substitute for an external temperature control.
- The heating conductors described here were designed for a nominal voltage of
- rated voltage of 230V / 50Hz. Operation at deviating nominal data is not
permitted.
- To disconnect the heating system from the mains, an all-pole switching
disconnecting device with a contact opening width of at least 3 mm must be
provided.
- The entire heating system is to be protected by an all-pole switching FI circuit
breaker with a maximum sensitivity of 30mA.
- All work on the installation may only be carried out when the mains are
switched off. All safety regulations for working on the mains must be followed.
- Connection to the mains may only be carried out by qualified electricians.

- The side panels and rear panel of the unit can reach temperatures of up to
50°C.
- Therefore it is important to ensure that adjacent parts are suitable for this
purpose.
- Children younger than 3 years must be kept away from the appliance unless
they are supervised at all times.
Children between 3 years and 8 years may only use the appliance if they are
supervised or have been instructed in the safe use of the appliance and have
understood the resulting dangers.
It´s a must that the appliance has been placed or installed in its normal
position of use. Children between the ages of 3 and 8 are not allowed to insert
the plug into the socket, regulate the appliance, or perform user maintenance.
- The Thermotex heating panel may only be operated when assembled!
- The radiating surface of the heater must be at least 30 cm away from all
objects.
Mounting:
- The wall heating panel is designed for mounting in a horizontal or vertical
position on the wall.
Mounting on the ceiling is not permitted due to the lack of a safety hook.
- There are suspension hooks on the back that allow both a horizontal as well
as a vertical position (see Fig.1 and 2).
- You can use the drilling template supplied as a mounting aid (see Fig. 3).
- The wall heating panel can be mounted directly on the wall intended.
- Due to the slim design, a solution not to be remarked is possible.
(see fig. 4).
- To increase the efficiency of the wall heating panel, you can use the supplied
spacers for mounting.
- So the residual heat streams to the rear and passes into the room as a light
convection heat (see Fig.5).
- To mount the wall heating panel, please use the enclosed spacer sleeves,
dowels and screws and the drilling template supplied. Screw all four screws
into the wall, leaving a gap of approx. 2mm between the screw and the spacer
sleeve or wall.
Take the wall heating panel, press it against the wall at the tixing holes and
