Hawking Technology guarantees that every H-MP128 MP3 My Drive
USB Flash Drive is free from physical defects in material and
workmanship under normal use for two (2) years from the date of purchase.
If the product proves defective during this two-year warranty period, call
Hawking Customer Service in order to obtain a Return Authorization
number. Warranty is for repair or replacement only. Hawking
Technology does not issue any refunds. BE SURE TO HAVE YOUR
PROOF OF PURCHASE. RETURN REQUESTS CAN NOT BE
PROCESSED WITHOUT PROOF OF PURCHASE. When returning a
product, mark the Return Authorization number clearly on the outside of
the package and include your original proof of purchase.
IN NO EVEN SHALL HAWKING TECHNOLOGY’S LIABILTY
EXCEED THE PRICE PAID FOR THE PRODUCT FROM DIRECT,

Thank you for purchasing the Hawking Technologies’ H-MP128
4-in-1 Multimedia MP3 My Drive.
Operational Notes
If your MP3 My Drive will not be operated for a prolonged
period, please remove the batteries to avoid possible damage
caused by electrical leakage.
The MP3 My Drive player should be kept in areas free from
extreme temperature changes, moisture and dust.
Set the HOLD switch to the release position before operating.
Do not drop your Multimedia MP3 My Drive to avoid damages
to the housing surface and battery.

Battery Status
(Time unit: hour)
*Battery life may vary from one brand to another.
*Please change the battery if the following conditions appear:
The Low Battery Indicator appears, and displays “Low
Battery,” then shuts down.
All the buttons make no response and are not workable even after
the battery is taken out and reinstalled.
Note:
To avoid static electricity, please avoid operating the
player in an extremely dry environment.
If the player stops running under proper conditions, please
reset it by taking out the battery.

Installation and Use
1. Locate the Lithium battery (Type 2032)
2. Install the battery.
3. Reception of radio:
There are three settings when listening to FM Radio using
your FM Tuner Headset. The three settings include “OFF,”
“(L) Low Volume,” and “(H) High Volume”
4. Listen to MP3:
Connect your headphone jack to the headphone jack on the
MP3 Player. Be sure to turn off your FM Radio before
using your MP3 player. Press and hold the Play button on
your MP3 Player to power on the unit.

Repeat modes includes Repeat, Repeat All, Random, Preview,
and Normal (Normal mode isn’t illustrated in the figure.)
Equalizer modes include Jazz, Classic, Rock, Pop, and Normal

Turning the power on/off
The power will be turned on when PLAY/STOP is pressed. In 2
seconds, a display with a blue backlight appears. The backlight
duration time may be adjusted in the “Backlight” setting of the
menu. The shorter the time your Backlight is lit the longer your
battery life will be. This allows the user to utilize the
power-saving features. The power will be turned off when
PLAY/STOP is pressed for more than 3 seconds. “Power OFF”
will be displayed on the screen and the unit will then
automatically shut itself off.
Playing MP3 music
1. When you turn on the Multimedia MP3 My Drive, a set of
numbers will be displayed, ie: 03-33. This means the third song
is currently playing and there are 33 total songs in the My Drive
MP3 Player.
2. When you press PLAY/STOP again, the current track will
be played as shown above. The playback time indicator is
displayed on the top left corner.

3. If you want to select the previous/next piece, scroll through
with the rolling wheel to find the desired track. The music will
stop if you press PLAY/STOP.
4. By pressing PLAY/STOP for 3 seconds, you can turn the
power off.
5. By pressing VOL+/VOL- , you can control the volume
under either PLAY or PAUSE status. The volume steps (see
illustration) will increase or decrease when VOL+/VOL- is
pressed correspondingly. There are 32 volume steps and the
volume level ranges from 0 to 31.
Caution
The battery status indicator may flicker while the MP3
music is playing, which results from heavy movement of the
battery supply. To get an accurate battery life reading, hold
the unit still and read the battery life display.

Use menu under the playing mode
1. Press PLAY/STOP to turn on the MP3 My Drive.
2. To access the MENU, press the MENU toggle down. Be
careful not to push the toggle left or right to avoid skipping tracks.
The following shows the function menu of the MP3 My Drive.
All the options are listed in the above table. You may view and

select an item by using the toggle lever.
1. You can use LAST or NEXT to select every item in the
function menu and press down MODE to enter the function.
2. When “Memory Info” is selected, the MP3 My Drive will
display a dialog box about the capacity of the memory. If no
button is being pressed, it will return to the Play interface after 2
seconds. You can see your Digital Audio memory as following:
Voice Recording Function
1. Press MENU. The following will be displayed.
2. Select REC to enter into the Voice Recording interface (see
illustration).

3. Now you can select the files to be played by using the toggle
lever. Press PLAY/STOP to listen to the recorded files (see the
bottom left illustration). If there are no recorded files, the
interface will display the following (see below right illustration):
4. Press MODE and you will see the function menu under the
Voice Recording mode (see bottom left illustration). Select
“Record” in Menu and press MODE to start voice recording.
The Recording interface is illustrated on the bottom right.
5. You can stop recording by pressing PLAY/STOP
momentarily and exit from the Voice Recording mode and switch
to the MP3 function by selecting the Function menu.

(Note: While recording, all buttons except PLAY/STOP and
HOLD do not work.)

The Voice Recording Mode Menu
You can use the Function menu to operate the MP3 My Drive
Player under the Voice Recording mode.
1. Press MODE, select REC, and press MODE again to enter
the Recording interface.
3. In the Voice Recording interface, press MODE to view the
Function menu in the Recording mode (see below illustration).
There are 6 items in the menu as shown. They denote different
functions such as Return to the Music mode, Voice Record,
Delete Recorded Files, Display Information, the Memory,
Backlight, and Return to Current Interface.
Exit the voice recording mode

After completing your recording, you can exit the Voice
Recording mode and switch to the Music mode by using the

menu.
1. Press MODE in the Voice Recording menu and the
following is displayed:
2. Use LAST/NEXT to select Music Mode.
3. Press MODE to confirm, and then it will return to Music
mode.
To Delete files
If you want to delete files in your MP3 My Drive, you may do so
by using the menu. You can also use the Digital Audio Manager
Software to do so. You can delete songs in the MP3 My Drive
Player by doing the following:
1. Press and hold PLAY/STOP to turn on the MP3 My Drive.
2. Press MODE to get the Function menu.
3. Find “Del File” using the toggle to scroll between selections
in the menu.
4. Press MODE (Push down the toggle) to confirm the
selection. Then the following display will appear. The upper
row displays which track you have selected, and the bottom row
displays the name of the song.

5. Now you may select the files to be deleted. Press MODE
and the dialog box to delete appear (see below illustration). In
this dialog box, press MODE to confirm. If you want to cancel
deleting the file, press any key to return to previous menu.
EQ (Equalizer)
You can select a different EQ mode according to the style of
music you’re enjoying.
1. Press MODE to display the menu.
3. Select EQ by toggling between the selections.
4. Press MODE and the EQ menu is displayed.
5. Select the Equalizer mode.
There are five modes: JAZZ, CLASSIC, ROCK, POP, and
NORMAL. After selecting EQ, the following is displayed:

You can experience perfect Jazz, Classic, Rock, or Pop music by
selecting a suitable corresponding mode. “Normal” mode plays
the song in its original sound.
If you don’t want to change the current settings, choose “Return”
to exit the EQ menu.
Repeat mode
If you would like to listen to a song over and over, then you can
select the Repeat mode.
1. Press MODE to display the menu.
2. Select “Repeat” in the menu using NEXT/LAST.
3. Press MODE to display the Repeat menu. By selecting
“Repeat,” the “Play Repeat” mode can be changed. You may
select the following modes: Random, Normal, Repeat All,
Repeat,and
