V-Mount adaptor operating instructions
Before operating the unit, please read this manual thoroughly and save it for future reference.
• Cost effective solution for professional broadcast camcorders, HBP-NPF allows you to power any
V-Mount Broadcast Camcorder with two standard high-capacity L-series or NP-F Batteries.
• With this solution, you will be able to replace usually high cost 14.4V V-lock batteries, which are
the standard for powering all broadcast camcorders worldwide.
• The combined voltage of the two L-series or NP-F Batteries make 14.4V ~ 14.8V.
• The HBP-NPF converts two DV F series 7.2V batteries into a 14.4V V-Mount battery.
• With an extra D-tap 14.8V/50W DC power output, it can deliver 14.4V 72W/8A to all external devices.
• Upon the press of a button, the built in 4-LED power indicator displays the remaining battery percentage
at 100%, 75%, 50%, or 25%.
• HBP-NPF has a standard V-mount connection with a high-quality lightweight aluminum V-Wedge to
ensure safe and reliable mounting.

Testing the capacity of the battery pack:
• A four-step Blue LED display indicates the remaining capacity.
• Press the Test / Check button, and the remaining capacity of the battery pack will be
shown on four-step LED display.
• If the Battery Pack is instilled on the Camcorder with the function of powering the camera,
the four-step LED Capacity Display may not show the exact capacity status of the battery pack.
• When only one (0%) LED indicates, please recharge the battery immediately.

Caution on Use
CAUTION:
• Never short-circuit the power plate terminals.
• Never attempt to open the power plate.
• Avoid mechanical shock.
• Never expose the plate to rain or moisture.
• Keep away from children.
• Never expose the plate to temperatures above 60°C (140°F)
• Please consult the store where you purchased this battery power plate or your sales representative
before using the power plate with battery pack in a product whose Operation Manual/Operating
Instruction does not explicitly state that the battery pack can be used, or before using the power plate
with battery pack in conjunction with another power supply. Inappropriate use of the power plate may
result in unit misoperation.
• The internal impedance of the battery pack installed on power plate increases as the temperature
drops to 5°C (41°F) or below. This may result in a shorter operating time or the failure of the component
to which it is connected to turn on. This occurs more frequently in battery packs that have been charged
many times than in new ones.
• The performance and operating time of the installed battery may drop under cold conditions.
• A large discharge amount may accelerate the deterioration of the battery power plate. To prevent this,
use the battery power plate with a discharger amount of about 3 A or less.
• The maximum discharge amount is 3.5 A for this battery power plate at 23°C (73°F).
Continuous use at levels beyond the maximum discharge level may cause the protection circuit
to shut off the current to protect the internal components.
• If the battery pack is mishandled, the battery pack can burst, cause fire or even chemical burns.
Observe the following cautions:
• Do not disassemble. • Do not crush and do not expose the battery pack to any shock or force
such as hammering, dropping or stepping on it. • Do not short circuit and do not allow metal objects
to come into contact with the battery terminals.• Do not expose to high temperatures above 60 °C
(140 °F) such as direct sunlight or in a car parked in the sun. • Do not incinerate or dispose of in
fire. • Do not handle damaged or leaking lithium ion batteries. • Be sure to charge the battery pack
using a genuine Hedbox battery charger or a device that can charge the battery pack. •Keep the
battery pack out of the reach of small children. • Keep the battery pack dry. • Replace only with the
same or equivalent type recommended by Hedbox. • Dispose of used battery packs precisely as
described in the instructions.• Do not use battery pack near water. • Clean only with a dry cloth.
• Do not install near any heat sources such as radiators, heat registers, stoves, or other appliances
that produce heat. • Only use attachments/accessories specified by the manufacturer.
• Unplug battery from the supply unit during lightning storms or when unused for long periods.
• Refer all servicing to qualified service personnel. Servicing is required when the battery pack
has been damaged in any way, such as power plug damage, liquid spill or objects
have fallen into the battery pack, the battery has been exposed to rain or moisture, does not operate
normally, or has been dropped.

• D-Tap DC Power Output 14.4V DC / 6A / 72W
• Keep D-Tap Power socket clean from dust
• A D-tap DC output socket is equipped on the side of the HBP-NPF battery pack. With this
external power supply facility, you can connect an on-camera LED light, video monitor, wireless
transmitter or digital recorder, and get simultaneous power with the battery attached to the camera,
or separately as an independent power station. The max power from the D-tap is 72W, 6A.
NOTE:
• Please do not use D-Tap power out to charge installed Li-Ion NP-F battery packs.
• The D-Tap is a one-way power-out delivery and can not sustain the charging function of the
installed battery packs.
