Flushing the dispensing system:
It is important to rinse out the dispensing system before starting to use your appliance:
1. Put the base water tank onto the water cooler; ensure that the tank sits into the slots located in top of
the water cooler.
2. Combine two tablespoons of Baking Soda; bicarbonate soda, with 2 Litres of lukewarm water into a
separate jug or container and set aside.
3. Remove the unfiltered water chamber from the cooler.
4. Pour the bicarbonate mixture into the filtered water chamber.
5. Hold the Chilled Water Tap in until water flows out from the tap. This ensures the mixture has entered
from the internal water tank.
6. Cycle the bicarbonate mixture through the front and re-pour back into the top reservoir. Repeat this
process a couple of times.
7. Switch power “ON” and allow the solution to sit in the cooler for a minimum of 4 hours (ideally leave
overnight).
8. Drain all the bicarbonate mixture out through the Chilled Water Tap until you can no longer drain any
water.
9. Remove the Drain Plug from underneath the unit to drain any excess water in the cooling tank. This is
important to ensure all of the mixture is removed from the cooler.
10. While the Drain Plug is open, pour 2 Litres of water through to remove any excess bicarbonate mixture
from the system. Reinstate drain cap and Unfiltered Water Chamber.
11. Flush clean water through the unit and drain out via taps. Tilt the unit back and forth to remove trapped
water from unit. Repeat process to ensure there is no residual taste.
Filter life:
The life of your filter will be affected by the quality of your tap water. When you
notice that the water begins to flow very slowly from the spout it is time to
change the filter. This can be any time from one month to three months
depending on the area where you live.
However, it must be replaced at least every three months. The Date Indicator
for Filter Replacement on the filter will help you to remember when this is.
Example: if the filter was installed in January, turn the dial to show 1 (indicating
1st month of the year). The ‘Change’ window will show 3 (indicating Filter
replacement is due in March, 3rd Month of the year) (See Figure 1).
FIGURE 1
NOTE: During the flushing process, the appliance may splutter as the air inside the filter is replaced by
water. You will notice a change in the filtering noise when the water tank is almost empty.
NOTE: Do not fill the water tank too quickly; because when you fill the upper water tank, the water will go
through the filter and enter into the base water tank and the water chiller. When the top of the filter is
immersed in water, please wait a couple of seconds to allow the water to enter into the base water tank.
