TheBeamer2isdesignedtobeusedasaparaglidingreserveparachute.Itcannotbeusedwhenjumpingoutof
anaircraft!
TheBeamer2reserveparachutecomplieswithEuropeanconstructionspecificationsgiveninthechecking
guidelines2.DVLuftGerPV1,No.7c/ConformitytestsaccordingtoEN12491:2001.Theuseofthisreserve
parachuteisattheowners(users)ownrisk.Themanufacturercannotbeheldliableforpersonalormaterial
damageresultingfromtheusageofthisreserveparachute.
Itismandatorytopaycloseattentiontothecorrectinstallationofthereserveintotheharness.Thecompatibility
ofthereserveparachutewiththegivenharnesshastobecheckedbyatrainedspecialist.Thisreservewillonly
workandcontributetothepilotssafetyifinstalledandpackedcorrectly.

INTENDEDPURPOSE
Thisreserveparachuteisintendedtobeusedincombinationwithasingleseatparagliderandhastobedeployed
manuallyincaseofanemergency.
OPERATINGLIMITS
Maximumusagespeed:115km/h(32m/s)
Packinginterval:12months,thereafterrepackingisnecessaryandmustberecordedinthepackingdocument.
Re‐inspectioninterval:Werecommendthatthereserveshouldbeinspectedevery24months.There‐inspection
mustberecordedinthepackingdocument.
Certifieddurationofoperation:12yearswithabi‐annualinspectionandupto14yearswithannualre‐
inspections.

Attention:ThelifeexpectancydependsonhowyouuseandhandleyourBeamer2reserve.(Acro,testopenings
etc.canconsiderablyreduceitslifespan).

USEOFTHERESERVEPARACHUTE
Toopenthereserveparachuteinemergencysituationspullthereservehandlewithapowerfuljolt.Bydoingso,
theoutercontaineropensandreleasesthereserveparachutewhichisstillpackedintheinnercontainer.Next,
throwthehandleandinnerbagcontainingtheparachuteintotheair.Thereservehandleisthrownawaywiththe
innercontainer!
Theinnercontainerisconstructedsuchthatthesuspensionlinesdeployfirstandthecanopysecond.Thisprevents
theparachutefromopeningprematurely(beforeachievingmaximumlinestretch).
Thisminimisestheriskofthereserveparachutegettingtangledupwiththeparagliderorthepilotinan
emergencysituation(e.g.collisionwithotherpilotsetc.).Thefasterthereserveisthrown,thequickeritwillreach
linestretchandopen.
Afterbeingthrown,theinnercontaineropensimmediately.Thepowerfulthrowand/ortheairflowstretchesthe
suspensionlinesandopensthecanopy.
Whentheparachutehascompletelyopened,thepilotshouldcheckhis/heraltitude.Withsufficientaltitude,
disablethemainparagliderbypullingtherisers/linesortryingreelinginthecanopytoavoiddownplanning
(opposingcanopies).Ifthereisnotsufficientaltitude,thepilotshouldkeephis/herattentiononthegroundand
prepareforimpact.
CARE&MAINTENANCE
TheBeamer2reserveparachutewasdesignedforhighloadingandextremeoperationaldemands.Accordingly,
onlyhighlydurablematerials,provenovermanyyearswerechosen.However,theservicelifedependstoagreat
extentuponthecareoftheowner.Werecommendregularexaminationforwearandtearandimmediaterepair
ofdamagedcomponentsbyHighAdventureoranauthorisedservicecentres.
Specialattentionshouldbepaidtothefollowingpoints:
•Thereserveshouldnotbeunnecessarilyexposedtothesun(ultravioletrays).
•Adamporwetreserveshouldbecompletelyunpacked&driedatroomtemperatureoroutsidein
theshade.
•Donotexposethepackedreservetolargechangesintemperature.Providesufficientair
circulationtoavoidcondensation.
•Handlewithcarewhenhandlingonthegroundafteradeploymentduringsafetytraining/SIV.
•Onlycleanthereservewithfreshwater,andaneutralsoapifnecessary.Donotusesolvents.
Warning:Mechanicalinfluences,chemicals,cleaningagents,insects,mildewetc.canreducethestrengthofthe
reserve.

STORAGE
Oils,fats,acidsandpaintsmustnotbestoredintheimmediatevicinityofthereserve.Storeinawell‐ventilated
anddryroom.Storeunpackedifnotusedforlongerperiods.
PACKING&INSPECTIONINTERVALS
Inordertoguaranteeareliableandquickopeningatanytime,thereserveparachutemustbeunpacked,airedand
repackedevery6monthsaccordingtocurrentpackinginstructions.Immediaterepackingisnecessaryifthe
reservehasbeenexposedtomoisture,dampnessorextremeheat.
Ifthereservehasbeensubjecttoanemergencydeployment,oradeploymentduringsafetytraining,itmustbere‐
inspectedbythemanufacturerorbyanauthorisedservicecentre.Likewisethereservemustbethoroughly
inspectedbytrainedpersonnelincaseofhighorasymmetricalloading(e.g.landinginatree).
INCASEOFDAMAGE
Shouldthereserveexperienceanydamageorifyoucannotclearlydecideaboutitsairworthiness,thereserve
mustbesenttoHighAdventureAGtoberepaired.Repairsmustbeundertakenonlybytheauthorisedservice
centres!
REPAIRS
Repairsofreserveparachutesmustneverbedonebyunauthorisedpersonnel.Thevariousseamsandlineshave
beenmanufacturedwiththeutmostprecision.Thereforeonlythemanufacturerorauthorisedservicecentres
shoulddorepairsusingoriginalmaterials.Acidsandmildewcaninfluencethestrengthofthereserve.Reserve
parachutesexhibitsustainingsuchdamagemustbereturnedtothemanufacturerforre‐inspectionandrepair.
RESERVEPARACHUTECHECK,ATTACHMENTTOTHEHARNESSANDPACKING
INSTRUCTIONS
Beforepacking,thereserveshouldbevisuallyinspected.Thereservemustthenbeairedoutforatleast24hours.
Thehumiditylevelshouldbeadjustedto60–65%.Packingshouldbestbecarriedoutonapackingtable.The
surfaceshouldbecleanandstaticfree.
Necessaryequipment:
•Lineseparator.
•Packingweight.
•Specialrubberbandsmustbereplacedeverytimethereserveisrepacked(theseareavailablethrough
HighAdventure)
•Packingtoolsandequipmenttoinsertthereserveintothereservecontainerofaharness.
Thereserveshouldonlybepackedbycertifiedpersonal.
