ASSEMBLY GUIDE
“Brockton” Lamppost
TOOLS
• Heavy duty hammer
• Level
• Flathead screwdriver or pliers
• Small block of wood
COMPONENTS
Part Description Qty
(A) Lamppost 1
(B) Metal ground stake (no dig) 1
The highwood® lamppost is pre-assembled and comes with a stable top “shelf” that allows
you to mount any type of lamp/lantern (whether directly into the lamppost neck or by using
any mounting bracket that the lamp would come with).
Your highwood® lamppost can carry wiring to the lamp – please use a standard wood-drill
bit in order to slowly and carefully put a hole in the fl at-top of the lamppost. The wiring
that you use should be fully shielded… no exposed wires. Thread the wiring through from
the ground, up through your lamppost and then out of the hole that you have drilled in the
top and into the lamp. Note that your highwood® lamppost has a fl at top in order to allow
you to either (a) attach a lamp directly to the shelf (screw down into the top) OR (b) attach
an adapter which will then receive your chosen lamp.
STEP 1
Install metal ground stake
Measure and mark the half way point on Metal ground stake (B) as shown in Figure
1 below. Place Stake (B) in desired location and carefully use a hammer to drive it
into ground. Use level to make sure the stake is straight and plumb. Adjust as needed
and fi nish driving it into the ground using a small block of wood on top of stake as
shown in Figure 2 below. Install no deeper than the half-way point.

Before you start
IMPORTANT Check for underground services with your local
authorities BEFORE installation of this product. They will
typically mark out underground cables/gas etc at no charge.

STEP 2
STEP 3
Set ground stake tabs into place
Use a fl at head screwdriver
and/or a set of pliers to
bend the locking tabs on
Metal ground stake (B) into
appropriately a 45 degree angle
as shown in Figure 3.
Attach mailbox to ground stake
With the ground stake in place and the locking tabs set into
position slide your highwood® Lamppost (A) over the stake
as shown in Figure 4 below.
Note: Make sure to slide the post straight down so the locking
tabs touch the inside wall and properly engage in the corners of
the highwood® post as shown in Figure 5 below.

STEP 4
Final adjustment
Final adjustment may require you to
twist the post and ground stake so
the Lamppost (A) is positioned in
the correct direction. This rotation
adjustment will not disrupt the
ground attachment of the stake.

STEP 5
