Handmade Bamboo Furniture
Grain Pattern Gives You Options On Leg Assembly
Simple Care Instructions
UNIVERSAL INSTRUCTIONS
This set of instructions are for the entire Brazil Collection. Each table assembles in the exact
same way and uses the same parts, except for the length of the rails or legs, and perhaps a
difference in the number of screws used to attach the table top to the leg & rail frame.
The following pages have both a written explanation, and a set of images during the assembly
process.
INTERESTING FACTS ABOUT BAMBOO & BAMBOOGLE
Thank you for purchasing a piece of our handmade bamboo furniture from Bamboogle. Know that each piece has been
handled dozens of times by skilled craftsman through the cutting, sanding and finishing process. Also know that each
piece is made up of many laminated strips that are glued side by side and create the lumber used for the legs and tops.
Birth marks, or character markings are common in most solid wood furniture, especially if they are handmade. Since
bamboo lumber is made of hundreds of laminations, you will notice end grain, edge grain, and flat grained markings. A
bamboo table leg will have edge grain on two opposing sides, with the other two sides being flat grain. The flat grain
reveals bamboo's most unique and distinctive 'knuckles' or joints, which are the rings you see around a bamboo shoot.
These joints are visible on each strip of laminated bamboo and are the birthmarks and richest characteristics of each
piece.
It is these markings that create the intrigue and drama in each piece. No two legs are ever the same, and certainly no
two tables are ever the same. Enjoy the character markings of your table and prepare yourself for interesting
conversations about it with others.
Treat your Bamboogle table as you would any other piece of finished furniture. Bamboo is harder than maple but care
must be taken to avoid dents and scratches to the surface. Wipe standing water off of finish to reduce the chance of
water marks.
Since bamboo lumber is made of multiple laminations, the legs will reveal edge grain on two sides, and flat grain on the
other two sides. You have a choice as to which grain pattern you prefer to be on the end of the tables, or side. This
only pertains to the legs.

TOOLS REQUIRED: Slot Screwdriver & Phillips Screwdriver (do not use power drill)
TIME REQUIRED: 10-20 minutes, 30 if you're new to assembling things
1 Lay out all parts in like groups
2 Prepare the leg & side rails to attach together
3 Complete the leg & rail assembly, which makes a table frame with no top
4 Attach to top to the leg & rail assembly
5 Hand tighten if necessary (do not use a drill)

1 Lay out all parts in like groups
Call us immediately for damaged or missing parts. Its rare, but it happens.
The disk bushing with the Phillips head will go in the rails, the leg pin bolt goes into the legs
The 8 screws attach the rail / leg assembly to the table top
2 Prepare the leg & side rails to attach together
Legs
Screw 4 leg pin bolts into the metal female leg sockets already fixed into each leg
Lightly hand tighten each leg post bolt using a slot screwdriver (don't slip & scratch!)
Each leg gets 4, so attach all 16 to the four legs
Rails
The disk-like tightening bushings slip into the predrilled holes, but line them up carefully!
and have the screwdriver X facing toward you
The holes on the side need to face the end of the rails (to receive the leg pin bolt)
You can leave the Phillips head tightening bullet in the bushing if you wish
Slip one of the disks into the predrilled holes using the notches to line it up straight
If you pushed the disk in but didn't line it up straight, place a slot screwdriver in a
notch & X (Phillips tightening bullet) to turn the entire bushing disk.
3 Complete the leg & rail assembly, which makes a table frame with no top
Make one end, then the other end, then add the long rails to complete the frame
Make one end:
Slide the shorter rail onto each leg post bolt on both legs making one end of the table
If the posts won't slide on all the way, check two things:
Unscrew the Phillips-head tightening bullet to give clearance inside the bushing
Or turn the bushing by the notches to line up the hole better
(once you get it, it’s a beautiful fit)
Hand tighten the Phillips-head bullet which pulls the rails tight to the legs
(if in the rare event that the rail does not pull snugly to the leg, remove that rail
and retighten that leg post bolt to draw it deeper into the leg socket)
Make the other end (repeat the above steps)
Add the long rails to complete the frame (repeat the same steps as above)
4 Attach the underside of the top to the leg assembly
Before setting the table top upside down for final assembly, make sure to pad the
surface of whatever you intend to set it on to avoid any scratches. A towel placed
on a table top, or the floor would work well.
Place the table top upside down on the soft surface
Gently lift the leg & rail assembly upside down as well, and onto the exposed
underside of the table top.
Line up the predrilled holes on the table top (underside) with the predrilled
holes on the underside of the rails.
Hand tighten the 8 screws with a Phillips screwdriver. DO NOT OVER TIGHTEN
5 Hand tighten if necessary (do not use a drill)
Occasionally, you may want to hand tighten all connections to achieve a tight fit.
This should not have to be repeated after assembly is completed, but in some
climates and due to seasonal moisture, retightening these connections is possible.
