General
1 GENERAL
1.1. CONCEPT
New feature for the AquaFREE system is the capability of being combined with a “conventional boiler” heating system (gas, gas-oil,
etc…) by using part of the hydraulic system together with the “Boiler Combination Kit” (AF-BCK-01) control kit.
There are three operation modes:
“Automatic” (Heating mode only)
“Boiler only” (Heating mode only)
“AquaFREE only” (Heating & Cooling mode (refreshing oor/Fan Coil))
1.1.1. AUTOMATIC
The control selects between AquaFREE unit or Boiler unit. (Normally installed before than the AquaFREE system).
Controlled by “Outdoor Temperature Setting”:
The system is going to choose between the AquaFREE unit or the Boiler unit depending on the setted outdoor
temperature. If outdoor temperature is higher than “outdoor setting temperature”, the AquaFREE will run. If contrary, the
AquaFREE is going to change to “stand by” (Compressor Thermo OFF), and after some time AquaFREE Water pump
stops (because AquaFREE protection), and Boiler start running.
Controlled by “Time Setting”:
By using this setting the end user choose the operation time if having special tariff contracted with the electricity supplier
company (tariff depending on “pick time” or “valley time” electricity demand). Boiler Combination Kit can be programmed
by the internal timer (eld supplied std. timer) in order to use the AquaFREE unit or conventional Boiler unit.
1.1.2. BOILER ONLY
The control forces the system to use only the Boiler unit.
1.1.3. AQUAFREE ONLY
The control forces the system to use only the AquaFREE unit.
In case of Cooling Mode (refreshing oor / Fan Coil application) this mode is mandatory.
 NOTE:
In each case, AquaFREE Room Thermostat, is used for controlling room setting temperature.




CAUTION
Do not connect voltage input to the control system before
preparation for test run has been correctly completed.
Read this manual carefully before performing installation
work.
Read this in order to congure Boiler Combination Kit.
WARNING
Do not install Boiler Combination Kit in places like:
With vapour, oil or dispersed liquids.
WIth heat sources nearby (sulphuric surroundings).
Where accumulation, generation or leaks of inammable
gases has been detected.
That are near the sea, in saline, acid or alkaline
surroundings.

6.1. GENERAL CHECK
1. Ensure that the eld-supplied electrical components (mains power switches, circuit breakers, wires, connectors and wire
terminals) have been properly selected according to the electrical data indicated. Make sure that they comply with national
and regional electrical codes.
2. Check to ensure that the power supply voltage is within +/-10% of the rated voltage.
3. Check to ensure that power supply has an impedance low enough to warranty not reduce the starting voltage more than
85% of the rated voltage.
4. Check to ensure that the ground wire is connected.
5. Connect a fuse of specied capacity.
 DANGER:
Do not connect of adjust any wiring or connections unless the main power switch is OFF.
Check that the earth wire is securely connected, tagged and locked in accordance with national and local codes.
 NOTE:
Check and test to ensure that if there is more than one source of power supply, that all are turned OFF.

6.4. COMMON WIRING
CAUTION:
All the eld wiring and electrical components must comply with local codes.
Single phase connection:

6.4.1. ELECTRICAL WIRING BETWEEN AQUAFREE
AND BOILER COMBINATION KIT.
Connect the electrical wires between the AquaFREE, the Boiler
Combination Kit and the Boiler, as shown in the next diagram.
Follow local codes and regulations when performing electrical wiring.
Use twist pair wire (more than 0.75 mm²) for operation wiring
between AquaFREE and Boiler Combination Kit.
Use 2-core wire for the operating line (Do not use wire with more
than 3 cores).
Use shielded wires for intermediate wiring to protect the units from
noise obstacle at length of less than 300m and size complied with
local code.

In the case that a conduit tube for eld-wiring is not used, x rubber
bushes with adhesive on the panel.
All the eld wiring and equipment must comply with local and
international codes.

Power supply must be connected to outdoor and indoor unit separately.
ATTENTION:
Remove jumper between terminals 9 and 10 in AquaFREE terminal board when installing the Boiler Combination Kit.
AquaFREE and Boiler working as a whole, if disconnect AquaFREE, Boiler doesn’t run (Both use the same thermostat).
