The lightning flash with arrowhead symbol, within an equilateral triangle, is intended to alert the user to the
presence of uninsulated "dangerous voltage" within the product's enclosure that may be of sufficient magnitude

SOME DOS AND DON’TS ON THE SAFE USE OF EQUIPMENT
This equipment has been designed and manufactured to meet international safety standards but,
like any electrical equipment, care must be taken if you are to obtain the best results and safety is
to be assured.

DO read the operating instructions before you attempt to use the equipment.
DO ensure that all electrical connections (including the mains plug, extension leads and inter-
connections between the pieces of equipment) are properly made and in accordance with the
manufacturer’s instructions. Switch off and withdraw the mains plug before making or changing

equipment and make sure that your family know how to do this. Special arrangements may need

power points in your home or the cable is too short to reach a power point, then obtain an

Should it be necessary to change the mains plug, this must be carried out by a competent

As these colours may not correspond to the coloured markings identifying the terminals in
yourplug, proceed asfollows:
The wire coloured BLUE must be connected to the terminal marked with the letter Nor
coloured BLUE or BLACK. The wire coloured BROWN must be connected to the terminal
marked with the letter Lor coloured BROWN or RED.
Onno account connecteither ofthese wiresto the terminal marked Eor bythe earthsymbol
Eorcoloured green orgreen andyellow.
Alternatively, this equipment may be supplied with a rewireable plug already fitted, which
may be removed if not suitable and an alternative fitted in accordance with the preceding
instructions.

of the disc with a soft cloth before

• Remove the CD from the Disc tray of your unit, if it is not going to be used for a long period.

• If a disc is suddenly removed from
a cold to a hot area, it will not be
played due to moisture on the
disc surface. So wipe off with a
soft cloth. Do not use a hair dryer
to dry moisture on discs.
1. Open a disc case by holding the
bottom left and right sides with the
right hand, and then pulling the
top cover with the left hand.
2. Press down on the center of the
case and lift the disc out
carefully.
3. Hold by the edges without
touching the recording surface.
(Rainbow lighting side is to play)
This unit has been designed to play compact discs bearing the
identification logo shown at the left and MP3 discs.

POWER SOURCES
(Backup Batteries)
1. Operating the player on AC power
Insert one end of the supplied power cord to theAC IN Jack located of the rear of the
unit and the other end into the Wall outlet.
2. Operating the player on batteries
• To play your unit on batteries, the AC power cord
must be disconnected from the player.
• Unplug the AC power cord from the unitand insert
eightsize C/UM-2batteries (notprovided) in the
compartment.
3. Clock and Memory
•Irrespectiveof usingAC mains orDC battery power,2 x UM-3/”AA” SIZE/R6 batteries
must be fitted for the clock and other memory functions to operate.
4. When to replace the batteries
Replacethe old batteries when thesound becomesunstable orcannot be heard.
NOTE:
POWER STANDBY
When you first plug the unit into the mains, the unit will go into standby mode.
– You can press POWER to switch on the unit.
– The standby function of the unit remains on until the unit is switched on.
– Pull the mains plug out of the wall socket if you want to switch off the mains voltage
completely.

• Unpack all parts and remove protective material.
• Insert the batteries (2xUM-4/SIZE "AAA") into the remote control transmitter as
shown in the battery compartment.
• Do not connect the unit to the mains before checking the mains voltage and
before all other connections have been made.
• Do not cover any vents and make sure that there is a space of several
centimetres around the unit for ventilation.
INSTALLATION CLOCK SETTING
1. Under standby mode and with the memory backup batteries fitted, press the MEMORY/
PROGRAM button for 2 sec. to access clock setting.
2. The first and second digit of “12” hour will flash, press Bor Fto set the preferred 12
or 24 hour clock display mode.
3. Press MEMORY/PROGRAM to select the hour setting, the first and second digit will
flash, press the Bor Fto set the correct hours.
4. Press MEMORY/PROGRAM again to select the minutes setting, press the Bor F
to set the correct minutes.
5. Press MEMORY/PROGRAM againto store inthe memory.
OPERATION/TUNER
TUNING
1. Press POWER to switch on the unit.
2. Press the TUNER/BAND button to select the required AM(MW) or FM broadcast band.
3. Press Bor Ffor few seconds, then release the button.
– The tuner will automatically search for the first transmitter of sufficient
strength.
– Repeat this procedure if you wish to select another station.
4. To tune to weak stations, briefly depress Bor Fcontinuously until you read
the correct frequency or the reception is at its optimum.
AM
TheAM antenna is built into the unit.
Rotate the unit to improveAM
Reception.
FM
Extend the FM Rod antenna
to improve FM reception.
FM Stereo indicator will light
up when receiving FM Stereo.

FIND FUNCTION
For MP3 disc playback only: Press "FIND" when playing MP3-CD to access the search
function.
- FIND BY FILE NAME
• Press "FIND" once to access this search mode.
The display will show " ", and letter "A". If any file name start with letter "A", It
will appear on the display. You can Press Bor Fto search from A-Z, 0-9.
• If press and hold the Bor F, you can choose the same letter "A" of the other
song, e.g.., ABBA 01, ABBA 02 etc.
• Press "PLAY/PAUSE RPRP

RP" button to start playing those tracks with your selected
letter.
- FIND BY ALBUM NAME
• Press "FIND" twice to access this search mode.
The display will show " ", and "Album".
• Press Bor Fto search your desired album and press "PLAY/PAUSE RPRP

RP" to start
playing.
TEXT DISPLAY (ID 3 DISPLAY)
During MP3-CD playing, press "FIND" button for 2 Sec to switch to text display mode, it
will show the file name / title / artist / album of the current track.
Press "FIND" button for 2 sec to return to the track playing time.
PROGRAMMING TRACKS
Up to 64 tracks can be stored in the memory.
For CD
1. Load a CD as described previously.
2. Press MEMORY/PROGRAM to start programming.
3. Press Bor Fto locate a particular track.
4. Press MEMORY/PROGRAM to store it in the memory.
5. Continue this process until you have selected all the tracks you require.
6. Press PLAY/PAUSE RPRP

RP to start the program play.
7. To stop programming at any time press CD stop.
For MP3-CD
1. Press MEMORY/PROGRAM to start programming.
2. Press Bor Fto locate the Album/Folder.
3. Press MEMORY/PROGRAM to store it in the memory.
4. Press Bor Fto locate a particular track.
5. Press MEMORY/PROGRAM to store it in the memory.
6. Continue this process until you have selected all the tracks you require.
7. Press PLAY/PAUSE RPRP
RPRP
RP to start the program play.
8. To stop programming at any time press stop button.
REVIEWING THE PROGRAM
1. Press MEMORY/PROGRAM to review of the tracks currently programmed. The tracks
will be displayed on the LCD.
2. Press MEMORY/PROGRAM again for going to the next.
PROGRAMMING OF PRESET STATIONS
1. Select the tuning range with the TUNER/BAND button.
2. Tune to the desired station as described under Tuning.
3. Press MEMORY/PROGRAM button briefly, CHANNEL "01" will start to flash.
4. Press PRESET+ or PRESET- to assign a number (1-10) to the preset station.
5. Press MEMORY/PROGRAM again. The frequency, preset number and stereo setting
are now entered in the memory.
6. Repeat this procedure to store other frequencies and preset in the memory.
TUNING TO PRESET STATIONS
Select a number between 1 and 10 by pressing :
–PRESET+ or PRESET- button.
NOTE: For memory backup, user should load the 2xUM-3/"AA" SIZE/R6 batteries (not
included) in any case, regardless whether the unit is operated on AC or DC, to
ensure that the memories are not lost.
OPERATION/COMPACT DISC/MP3
INSERTING THE MP3-CD/CD DISC
1. Press ee

2. Insert a MP3-CD/CD in the tray.
3. The MP3-CD/CD-player starts and scans the contents list of the MP3-CD/CD.
PLAYING THE ENTIRE DISC
1. Press PLAY/PAUSE RPRP

– Play starts with the first track.
– The display shows the current track number and its elapsed playing time.
– When all the tracks have been played, the CD player stops and the total
number of tracks and total playing time are shown on the display.
2. To stop play, press STOP CC

4. To resume play, press PLAY/PAUSE RPRP

SELECTING A DIFFERENT TRACK DURING PLAY
- Press Bor Funtil the required track number appears in the display.
- MP3-CD mode only:
Press ALBUM/PRESET- or ALBUM/PRESET+ once or more to find your album.
START AGAIN WITH THE TRACK THAT IS CURRENTLY PLAYING by pressing Bonce.
The track will be started again from the beginning.
SEARCHING FOR A PASSAGE DURING PLAY by holding Bor Fpressed down to
search for the required passage. If you release the button, play will continue.

PLAYING A PROGRAM

2. Play starts with the first track of the program.
3. When all tracks have been played, the MP3-CD/CD player stops.
CLEAR PROGRAM TRACKS
Opening and closing the CD tray will erase all programmed tracks.
RANDOM PLAY (Remote Only)
You can play all the tracks in a random order.
1. Press RANDOM button.
2. "RAND" lights up on the display.
3. The tracks will be played in a random order automatically.
4. Press STOP or RANDOM to cancel the random mode.
REPEAT PLAY (For CD)
If at any time you wish to listen to a disc or program over and over again, the REPEAT
function will allow you to do so.
Press REPEAT once.
REPEAT PLAY (For MP3-CD)
1. Press "REPEAT" button once.
2. "REPEAT 1" will be displayed on the LCD.
3. Press REPEAT twice, "REPEAT ALL" will be displayed on the LCD.
4. Press REPEAT three times, "REPEAT ALBUM" will be displayed on the LCD.
5. Press REPEAT four times, to cancel the "REPEAT" function.
OPERATION/TIMER
Before setting the timer, make sure the clock is correctly set.
TIMER ON SETTING
Press CD, TUNER to select the desired sound source.
ForTUNER
1. If you select TUNER, press Bor Fto select a preset station.
2. The display will show the selected preset station and frequency.
3. Press and hold TIMER to confirm your selection (remote only).
4. Icon will appear on the display.
5. The digit of hour segment will flash more than 2 seconds.
6. Press Bor Fto set the hour.
7. Press TIMER again, TIMER and digit of minutes segment will flash on the display.
8. Press Bor Fto set the minutes.
9. Press TIMER again to store the start time.
10. Repeat steps 6~9 to set the timer off.
11. The display will show TUNER segment.
12. Press TIMER to store the sound source.
13. Thevolumelevel 15 willappear onthe display.
14. Press Bor Fto set the desired sound level.
15. Press TIMER again to store the timer setting.
For CD
1. Insert a disc into the CD tray.
2. PressTIMER.
3. Repeatsteps 4~11 under“For tuner” fortimer setting.
4. Press Bor Fto set the sound source to CD.
5. Thevolume level15 will appear on thedisplay.
6. Press Bor Fto set the desired sound level.
7. Press TIMER again to store the timer setting.
8. CD will be played.
TIMER OFF SETTING
1. Press the TIMER.
2. The iconwill disappear.
OPERATION/SLEEP
1. PressSLEEP, “SLEEP”appearon the display.
2. Keep pressing SLEEP to adjust the sleep time in the order of 90>80>70...10 minutes.
3. To cancel the SLEEP mode, pressSLEEP again.
OPERATION/PRESET EQUALIZER
PressPRESET EQ to select thedigital soundperformance inthe orderof CLASSIC, ROCK,
POP, JAZZ and PASS.

LISTENING WITH HEADPHONES (NOT INCLUDED)
CAUTION: Set theVOLUME to a low levelbefore usingheadphones.
Graduallyadjust the VOLUMEto a comfortable listening level.
Please do not play the volume too loudly for extended periods of time.
OPERATION/MUTE (REMOTE HANDSET ONLY)
Press MUTE to terminate the sound output. Press again to cancel this mode.
GENERAL
Set not reacting when any function button is pressed.
Hang up problem due to electro-static discharge and/or software, press POWER
to switch off and then on the unit or in the worst case, pull the mains plug out of
the wall socket and then reconnect the unit.
