Cayo Ironing Board

Please follow these guidelines for safe assembly:
1) Because this item is large, we recommend that two people assemble it together,
in the room in which it will be used.
HomeChoice will not be held liable for damages caused by improper assembly.
2) Please make sure that you have all the parts and hardware items listed before you start
assembling your ironing board mirror cabinet. If you nd that something is missing,
please do not assemble. Contact our Customer Service on 021 680 8000.

1 - Slim-Line ironing board cabinet
2 - Mounting brackets
4 - Drywall anchors & Mounting Screws
1 - ironing board padded cover
• Adhesive tape
• Pencil
• Phillips Head Screwdriver
• Level (optional)
• Stud Finder (optional)
• Measuring tape (optional)
Deciding Where to Install Your New Slim-Line ironing Cabinet:
a) You need a space at least 30” wide to fully open the door.
b) The door can open to either the left or right. (Step 9 shows you how to reverse
the door.)
c) Install Slim-Line ironing board between two wall studs or straddling a single stud.
Checking for wall studs with a stud nder.
We recommend you install your ironing board mirror cabinet on a wall with standard
16” spaced studs or straddling one stud.
You’ll be using drywall anchors for the installation so mark the studs clearly to avoid
them.
Tip: If you don’t have a stud nder, you can tap along the wall & listen for a hollow
sound. That’s a space without a stud.
Step 1
Decide on the most comfortable height for your Slim-Line ironing board.
Fold the bottom edge of the template to the height you want it to be at.
Standard ironing boards are 36” from the oor. Of course, you can mount your Hide Away
Slim-Line higher or lower depending on your personal preference.
Step 2
Installation
Taping the template to the wall.
a. Tape the template bottom edge to the wall at the oor.
b. Starting at the bottom, smooth the paper up the wall.
c. Tape the sides every few inches as you go.
d. (OPTIONAL) Check that the standard ironing board height line is parallel to the oor
with a spirit level.
Tip: Leave the template up until the end of Step 7. Then you can just pull it away!

Taping the template to the wall.
a. Tape the template bottom edge to the wall at the oor.
b. Starting at the bottom, smooth the paper up the wall.
c. Tape the sides every few inches as you go.
d. (OPTIONAL) Check that the standard ironing board height line is parallel to
the oor with a spirit level.
Tip: Leave the template up until the end of Step 7. Then you can just pull it away!
Step 3
Installation
If you nd that something is missing, please do not assemble. Contact our Customer Service on 021 680 8000.
Inserting the self-drilling drywall anchors.
a. Hold the anchor at the mark for the rst hole.
b. Gently tap the anchor until the teeth are
fully seated in the drywall.
c. Use a Phillips head screwdriver to turn the
anchor clockwise for a few turns. This tightens
the anchor inside the wall.
d. Turn counter-clockwise to remove the screw
from the anchor.
e. Repeat for the second upper drywall anchor.

Mounting the upper wall bracket.
a. Place the metal bracket over the upper drywall
anchors you have just installed.
b. Make sure the angle edge is facing towards
the ceiling.
c. Insert the screws through the bracket and into
the anchors.
d. Tighten snugly. DO NOT OVER-TIGHTEN.

Lift the Slim-Line cabinet onto the wall mounting bracket.
a. With the angled edge facing towards the ceiling, slide the lower mounting bracket up
between the cabinet and wall. It will interlock with the lower
mounting bracket on the cabinet back.
b. Use a pencil to mark the wall mounting bracket’s bottom edge.
c. Remove the cabinet from the wall. Repeat Step 4 to install two drywall anchors
for the lower wall mounting bracket.
d. Attach the lower mounting bracket to the wall with the angled edge facing
towards the ceiling.
Step 7
Lifting your Slim-Line cabinet onto the brackets.
a. Lift your Slim-Line onto the upper wall
mounting bracket as in Step 6.
b. Both the upper and lower mounting bracket sets
will rmly interlock.
Step 8
Lift the Slim-Line cabinet onto the wall mounting
bracket.
a. Lift the Slim-Line cabinet until the upper mounting
bracket on the cabinet back is above the upper wall
mounting bracket.
b. Lower it onto the upper wall bracket.
c. The two upper mounting brackets will then interlock.
Step 6
Reversing the door to open to the right.
a. Open the door to the left
b. Remove two screws on the bottom door slide
and two screws on the top door slide.
c. Flip the door so the bottom slide becomes the
new top slide.
d. Realign the top and bottom slides evenly with
the frame.
e. Reattach slides with the screws you have
removed.
