BEFORE YOU BEGIN
Important Information
Please read the following carefully before use:
• Severe dehydration and excessive water loss may cause readings that
are lower than actual values. If you believe you are suering from severe
dehydration, consult a healthcare professional immediately.
• We do not recommend using this product on severely hypotensive
individuals or patients in shock. Please consult a healthcare professional
before use.
• Use only fresh whole blood samples. Using other substances will lead to
incorrect results.
• If you are experiencing symptoms that are inconsistent with your test
results and you have followed all the instructions in this owner’s manual,
contact your healthcare professional.
• Before using this device to test blood glucose or β-ketone, read all
instructions thoroughly. Carry out all the quality control checks as
directed.
• If your biochemical parameter results (blood glucose and/or β-ketone)
are lower or higher than usual, and you do not show any symptoms of
illness, rst repeat the test. If you develop any symptoms or continue to
get results that are lower or higher than usual, consult your healthcare
professional.
• Your meter kit might not include test strips, control solution, a lancing
device or lancets. These can be purchased separately. Please make sure
you have all the items needed before you start testing.
Intended Use
This system is intended for use outside the body (in vitro diagnostic
use) by people with diabetes at home and by healthcare professionals
in a clinical setting as an aid to monitoring the effectiveness of diabetes

4
control. It is intended to be used for the quantitative measurement of
blood glucose and β-ketones in whole blood. It should NOT be used for
diagnosis or screening of diabetes.
Please refer to the table below for the type of whole blood sample* to
obtain:
Home Use* Professional Use
Blood Glucose Capillary Capillary / Venous / Arterial
β-ketone Capillary Capillary / Venous
* Home users should only obtain whole blood samples from fingertips.
Test Principle
The GlucoCheck ConneKT Blood Glucose and Ketone Monitoring
System measures the amount of blood glucose and/or β-ketone
(biochemical parameters) in whole blood. The test is based on the
measurement of electrical current generated by the reaction of the
biochemical parameters with the reagent on the strip. The meter
measures the current, calculates the biochemical parameters in the
blood, and displays the result on the screen. The strength of the current
produced by the reaction depends on the amount of biochemical
parameters in the blood sample.

QUALITY CONTROL TESTS
When to Perform a Control Solution Test?
• if you suspect the meter or test strips are not working properly
• if your test results are not consistent with how you feel, or if you think
the results are not accurate
• practicing the testing procedure
• if you have dropped or think you may have damaged the meter.
How to Perform a Control Solution Test
To perform a control solution test, you will need:
1 Meter 2 Test Strip 3 Control Solution 4 Code Strip
(β-ketone only)
1. Calibrate the meter (For β-ketone testing)
For more information, please consult page 19.
2. Insert the test strip to switch the meter on
Wait for the meter to display“ ” and a ashing “ ”.
3. Press M to mark this as a control solution test (for blood glucose
test)
With “QC”displayed, the meter will NOT store the test result in the meter
memory. If you press Magain, the “QC” will disappear and this test is no
longer a control solution test.

11
4. Apply the control solution
Shake the control solution bottle thoroughly before use. Squeeze out the
rst drop and wipe it o, then squeeze out another drop and place it on the
tip of the bottle cap. Hold the meter to move the test strip absorbent hole
to the droplet. Once the conrmation window lls completely, the meter
will start counting down.
5. Read and compare the result
After counting down to 0, the control solution test result will appear on the
display. Compare this result with the range printed on the test strip vial and
it should fall within this range. If not, please read the instructions again and
repeat the control solution test.
NOTE
• The control solution range printed on the test strip vial is for control
solution use only. It is not a recommended range for your blood test
levels.
• For β-ketone test, your device will tag this measurement as the QC test
automatically.
• To avoid contaminating the control solution, do NOT directly apply the
control solution onto a strip.

12
Important Control Solution Information
• Use only the control solutions provided by Homemed, with this meter.
• Do not use the control solution beyond the expiry date or 3 months
after rst opening. Write the opening date on the control solution bottle
and discard the remaining solution after 3 months.
• It is recommended that the control solution test be done at room
temperature (20°C - 25°C). Please make sure the control solution, meter
and test strips are at the specied temperature range before testing.
• Shake the bottle before use, discard the rst drop of control solution,
and wipe it o the tip to ensure a pure sample and an accurate result.
• Store the control solution with the cap tightly closed at 2°C - 30°C.
Do NOT freeze.

TESTING WITH A BLOOD SAMPLE
Preparing the Lancing Device and Puncture Site
WARNING
To reduce the chance of transmission and infection:
• Never share a meter, lancet or lancing device
• Always use a new, sterile lancet
• Lancets are for single use only
• Avoid getting hand lotion, oil, dirt or debris in or on the lancets and
lancing device
Please follow the instructions in the lancing device insert on how to prepare
the lancing device and collecting a blood sample.
Stimulating blood circulation by rubbing the puncture site before obtaining
a blood sample has a signicant inuence on the Blood glucose or β-ketone
value obtained.
Follow the steps listed below before obtaining a blood sample:
• Wash and dry your hands before you start
• Select a puncture site
• Rub the puncture site for about 20 seconds before penetration
• Clean the puncture site using cotton moistened with 70% alcohol and
let it air dry
