 Before placing yo r new appliance into operation
please read these operating instr ctions caref lly.
They contain important information for safe se, for
installation and for care of the appliance.
 Please keep these operating instr ctions for f t re
reference. Pass them on to possible new owners of
the appliance.
Positioning
 Keep packaging material o t of the reach of
children.It can become a choking or s ffocation
hazard. see Precautions and tips).
! The appliance m st be installed by a q alified
person in compliance with the instr ctions provided.
Incorrect installation may ca se harm to persons,
animals or may damage property.
Fitting the appliance
Use the appropriate cabinet to ens re that the
appliance f nctions properly.
 The panels adjacent to the oven m st be made of
heat-resistant material.
 Cabinets with a veneer exterior m st be assembled
with gl es which can withstand temperat res of p
to 100°C.
 To install the oven under the counter (see diagram)
and in a kitchen unit, the cabinet m st have the
following dimensions:
! The appliance m st not come into contact with
electrical parts once it has been installed.
The cons mption indications on the data plate have
been calc lated for this type of installation.
Ventilation
To ens re good ventilation, the back panel of the
cabinet m st be removed. It is advisable to install the
oven so that it rests on two strips of wood, or on a
completely flat s rface with an opening of at least 45 x
560 mm (see diagrams).
Centring and fastening
Position the 4 tabs on the side of the oven according
to the 4 holes of the o ter frame. Adj st the tabs
according to the thickness of the cabinet side panel,
as shown below:

Sec re the appliance to the cabinet by opening the

Electrical Connection
Electrical connection
The electrical connection to the mains m st be made
on the appliance. The power voltage and freq ency
are as indicated on the rating plate.
! THIS APPLIANCE MUST BE EARTHED.
Connecting the power supply cable
To open the terminal board:
 Using a screwdriver, press on the tabs sit ated on
each side of the terminal board cover.
 P ll open the terminal board cover.
To connect the power s pply cable, proceed as
follows:
_Unscrew the cable clamp screw and the contact
screws L-N-$.
 Fasten the wires beneath the screwheads sing the
following colo r scheme: Blue (N) Brown (L)
Yellow-Green$
 Fasten the power s pply cable in the
corresponding cable clamp and close the cover.

Yo can connect yo r oven to the system means of a
terminal board. Refer to above information for the
minimal cable sections and the calibration of the
protective elements according to the connection.
If the appliance is installed with a junction box, an
omnipolar circuit breaker - with a minim m contact
opening of 3mm - sho ld be installed between the
appliance and the mains.
Power cable supply connection to the electrical
mains:
We recommend yo se a power s pply cable which
is long eno gh to allow yo to take the oven o t of its
recess in the event of maintenance operations (only
se HAR - H 05 - RRF q ality cables fitted with a pl g
conforming to the reg lations in force.
The plug must be accessible at all times.
Unplug the appliance before all operations, even
when replacing the oven lamp.
Using the appliance without correct earthing is
highly dangerous.
! After connecting the appliance to the flexible
cable, tighten all the screws on the terminal board.

Start-up and use
! The first time yo se yo r appliance, heat the
empty oven with its door closed at its maxim m
temperat re for at least half an ho r. Ens re that the
room is well ventilated before switching the oven off
and opening the oven door. The appliance may
prod ce a slightly npleasant odo r ca sed by the
b rning away of protective s bstances sed d ring
the man fact ring process.
Starting the oven
1. Select the desired cooking mode by t rning the
SELECTOR knob.
2. Select the desired temperat re with the
THERMOSTAT knob. See the Cooking advice table for
cooking modes and the s ggested cooking
temperat res (see Cooking Modes).
3. When lit, the THERMOSTAT indicator light indicates
that the oven is heating p to the temperat re set.
4. Yo may do the following d ring cooking:
- change the cooking mode by t rning the SELECTOR
knob.
- change the temperat re by t rning the
THERMOSTAT knob.
- stop cooking by t rning the SELECTOR knob to the
0 position.
! Never p t objects directly on the oven bottom to
avoid damaging the enamel coating.
! Always place cookware on the rack(s) provided.
Cooling ventilation
In order to cool down the external temperat re of the
oven, some models are fitted with a cooling fan that
blows o t air between the control panel and the oven
door.
! Once the cooking has been completed, the cooling
fan remains on ntil the oven has cooled down
s fficiently.
Oven light
It goes on when selecting with the SELECTOR
knob. It stays on when a cooking mode is selected.

Setting the clock
 The clock may be set when the oven is switched
off or when it is switched on, provided that a the end
time of a cooking cycle has not been programmed
previo sly.
After the appliance has been connected to the
mains, or after a blacko t, the icon and the fo r
n merical digits on the DISPLAY will begin to flash.
1. Press the b tton several times ntil the
icon and the fo r digits on the display begin to
flash.
2. Use the + and - b ttons to adj st the time; if
yo press and hold either b tton, the display will
scroll thro gh the val es more q ickly, making it
q icker and easier to set the desired val e.
3. Wait for 10 seconds or press the b tton again
to finalise the setting.
Setting the ti er
 This f nction does not interr pt cooking and does
not affect the oven; it is simply sed to activate the
b zzer when the set amo nt of time has elapsed.
1. Press the b tton several times ntil the
icon and the three digits on the display begin to
flash.
2. Use the + and - b ttons to set the desired
time; if yo press and hold either b tton, the display
will scroll thro gh the val es more q ickly, making it
q icker and easier to set the val e.
3. Wait for 10 seconds or press the b tton again
to finalise the setting.
The display will then show the time as it co nts
down. When this period of time has elapsed the
b zzer will be activated.
Progra ing cooking
 A cooking mode m st be selected before
programming can take place.
Programming the cooking duration
1. Press the b tton several times ntil the
icon and the three digits on the DISPLAY begin to
flash.
2. Use the + and - b ttons to set the desired
d ration; if yo press and hold either b tton, the
display will scroll thro gh the val es more q ickly,
making it q icker and easier to set the val e.
3. Wait for 10 seconds or press the b tton again
to finalise the setting.
4. When the set time has elapsed, the text END
appears on the DISPLAY, the oven will stop cooking
and a b zzer so nds.
 For example: it is 9:00 a.m. and a time of 1 ho r
and 15 min tes is programmed. The programme
will stop a tomatically at 10:15 a.m.
Setting the end time for a cooking mode
 A cooking d ration m st be set before the cooking
end time can be sched led.
1. Follow steps 1 to 3 to set the d ration as detailed
above.
2. Next, press the b tton ntil the icon and
the fo r digits on the DISPLAY begin to flash.
3. se the + and - b ttons to adj st the cooking
end time; if yo press and hold either b tton, the
display will scroll thro gh the val es more q ickly,
making it q icker and easier to set the desired
val e.
4. Wait for 10 seconds or press the b tton again
to finalise the setting.
5. When the set time has elapsed, the text END
appears on the DISPLAY, the oven will stop cooking
and a b zzer so nds.
Programming has been set when the and
b ttons are ill minated. The DISPLAY shows the
cooking end time and the cooking d ration
alternately.
Cancelling a programme
To cancel a programme:
 press the b tton ntil the icon corresponding to
the setting yo wish to cancel and the digits on the
display are no longer flashing. Press the - b tton
ntil the digits 00:00 appear on the display.
 Press and hold the + and - b ttons; this will
cancel all the settings selected previo sly,
incl ding timer settings.

Cooking modes
Cooking modes
! A temperat re val e can be set for all cooking
modes between 60°C and Max, except for
 BARBECUE (recommended: set only to MAX power
level);
 GRATIN (recommended: do not exceed 200°C).
TRADITIONAL OV N mode
Both the top and bottom heating elements will come
on. With this traditional cooking mode, it is best to se
one cooking rack only: if more than one rack is sed,
the heat will be distrib ted nevenly.
MULTI-COOKING mode
All the heating elements (top, bottom and circ lar), as
well as the fan, will come on. Since the heat remains
constant thro gho t the oven, the air cooks and
browns food niformly. A maxim m of two racks may
be sed at the same time.
BARBCU mode
The top heating element comes on.
The high and direct temperat re of the grill is
recommended for food that req ires high s rface
temperat re. Always cook in this mode with the oven
door closed.
GRATIN mode
The top heating element, as well as the fan, will come
on. This combination of feat res increases the
effectiveness of the nidirectional thermal radiation of
the heating elements thro gh forced circ lation of the
air thro gho t the oven. This helps prevent food from
b rning on the s rface, allowing the heat to penetrate
right into the food. Always cook in this mode with the
oven door closed.
PIZZA mode
The bottom and circ lar heating elements, as well as
the fan, will come on. This combination heats the oven
rapidly by prod cing a considerable amo nt of heat,
partic larly from the bottom element. If yo se more
than one rack sim ltaneo sly, switch the position of
the dishes halfway thro gh the cooking process.
BAKING mode
The rear heating element and the fan come on,
g aranteeing the distrib tion of heat delicately and
niformly thro gho t the oven. This mode is ideal for
baking and cooking temperat re sensitive foods s ch
as cakes that need to rise and to prepare certain
tartlets on 3 shelves sim ltaneo sly.
Practical cooking advice
! Do not place racks in position 1 and 5 d ring fan-
assisted cooking. Excessive direct heat can b rn
temperat re sensitive foods.
! In the BARBECUE and GRATIN cooking modes,
place the dripping pan in position 1 to collect cooking
resid es (fat and/or grease).
MULTI-COOKING
 Use position 2 and 4, placing the food that req ires
more heat on 2.
 Place the dripping pan on the bottom and the rack
on top.
BARBECUE
 Insert the rack in position 3 or 4. Place the food in
the centre of the rack.
 We recommend that yo set the maxim m power
level. The top heating element is reg lated by a
thermostat and may not always be on.
PIZZA MODE
 Use a light al mini m pizza pan. Place it on the
rack provided.
For a crispy cr st, do not se the dripping pan
(prevents cr st from forming by extending cooking
time).
 If the pizza has a lot of toppings, we recommend
adding the mozzarella cheese on top of the pizza
halfway thro gh the cooking process.

Precautions and tips
! The appliance was designed and man fact red in
compliance with international safety standards. The
following warnings are provided for safety reasons
and m st be read caref lly.
General safety
 The appliance was designed for domestic se
inside the home and is not intended for
commercial or ind strial se.
 The appliance m st not be installed o tdoors,
even in covered areas. It is extremely dangero s
to leave the appliance exposed to rain and
storms.
 When handling the appliance, always se the
handles provided on the sides of the oven.
 Do not to ch the appliance with bare feet or with
wet or moist hands and feet.
 The appliance m st be sed to cook food by
ad lts only and according to the instr ctions in
this man al.
When the appliance is in use, the heating
elements and some parts of the oven door
become extremely hot. Make sure you don't
touch them and keep children well away.
 Ens re that the power s pply cable of other
electrical appliances does not come into contact
with the hot parts of the oven.
 The openings sed for ventilation and dispersion
of heat m st never be covered.
 Always grip the oven door handle in the centre:
the ends may be hot.
 Always se oven gloves to place cookware in the
oven or when removing it.
 Do not se al mini m foil to line the bottom of the
oven.
 Do not place flammable materials in the oven: if
the appliance is switched on by mistake, it co ld
catch fire.
 Always make s re the knobs are in the l/¡
position when the appliance is not in se.
 When npl gging the appliance always p ll the
pl g from the mains socket, do not p ll on the
cable.
 Never carry o t any cleaning or maintenance work
witho t having npl gged the pl g from the
mains.
 In the case of a malf nction, nder no
circ mstances sho ld yo attempt to repair the
appliance yo rself. Repairs carried o t by
inexperienced persons may ca se inj ry or f rther
malf nctioning of the appliance. Contact a Service
Centre (see Assistance).
 Do not rest heavy objects on the open oven door.
 The appliance sho ld not be operated by people
(incl ding children) with red ced physical,
sensory or mental capacities, by inexperienced
individ als or by anyone who is not familiar with
the prod ct. These individ als sho ld, at the very
least, be s pervised by someone who ass mes
responsibility for their safety or receive
preliminary instr ctions relating to the operation of
the appliance.
 Do not let children play with the appliance.
Disposal
 Observe local environmental standards when
disposing packaging material for recycling
p rposes. Observe existing legislation when
disposing of the old appliance.
 The E ropean Directive 2002/96/EC on Waste
Electrical and Electronic Eq ipment (WEEE),
req ires that old ho sehold electrical appliances
m st not be disposed of in the normal nsorted
m nicipal waste stream. Old appliances m st be
collected separately in order to optimise the
recovery and recycling of the materials they
contain and red ce the impact on h man health
and the environment. The crossed o t wheeled

obligation, that when yo dispose of the
appliance it m st be separately collected.

especting and conserving the
environment
 By sing the appliance in the ho rs between late
afternoon and early morning, yo can help red ce
the work load placed on electrical companies.
 Always keep the oven door closed when sing the
BARBECUE and GRATIN modes: to attain best
res lts and to save energy (approximately 10%).
 Reg larly check the door seals and wipe clean to
ens re they are free of debris so that they stick
properly to the door and do not allow heat to
disperse.

Please dispose of packaging and old appliances

To minimise risk of inj ry to children, remove the

appliance. Dispose of these parts separately to
ens re that the appliance can no longer be pl gged
into a mains socket, and the door cannot be locked
sh t.

Maintenance and care
Switching the appliance off
Disconnect yo r appliance from the electricity s pply
before carrying o t any work on it.
Cleaning the appliance
 The stainless-steel or enamel-coated external parts
as well as the r bber seals may be cleaned sing a
sponge that has been soaked in l kewarm water
and ne tral soap. If these stains are diffic lt to
remove, se only specialised prod cts. After
cleaning, rinse and dry thoro ghly. Do not se
abrasive powders or corrosive s bstances.
 Ideally, the inside of the oven sho ld be cleaned
after each se, when it is still l kewarm. Use hot
water and detergent, rinse and dry with a soft cloth.
Do not se abrasive prod cts.
 All accessories - with the exception of the sliding
racks - can be washed like everyday crockery, and
are even dishwasher safe.
 Never se steam cleaners or press re cleaners on
the appliance.
Cleaning the oven door
Clean the glass part of the oven door sing a sponge
and a non-abrasive cleaning prod ct, then dry
thoro ghly with a soft cloth. Do not se ro gh abrasive
material or sharp metal scrapers as these co ld
scratch the s rface and ca se the glass to crack.
To clean more thoro ghly, yo can remove the oven
door.
1. Open the oven door f lly (see diagram).
2. Lift p and t rn the small levers located on the two
hinges (see diagram).
3. Grip the door on the two
external sides and close it
approximately half way. Unlock
the door by pressing on the
clamps F, then p ll the door
towards yo lifting it o t of its
seat (see diagram).
To replace the door, reverse
this seq ence.
Inspecting the seals
Check the door seals aro nd the oven periodically. If
the seals are damaged, please contact yo r nearest
After-sales Service Centre (see Assistance). We
recommend not sing the oven ntil the seals have
been replaced.
Replacing the light bulb
To replace the
oven light b lb:
1. Remove the
glass cover of the
lamp-holder.
2. Remove the
light b lb and
replace it with a
similar one:
Wattage 25 W,
cap E 14.
3. Replace the glass cover (see diagram).
Sliding Rack Kit Assebly
To assemble the sliding racks:
1. Remove the two
frames, lifting them
away from the spacers
A (see figure).
2. Choose which shelf to
se with the sliding
rack. Paying attention to
the direction in which
the sliding rack is to be
extracted, position joint
B and then joint C on
the frame.
3. Sec re the two
frames with the g ide
rails sing the holes
provided on the oven
walls (see diagram). The
holes for the left frame
are sit ated at the top,
while the holes for the
right frame are at the
bottom.
4. Finally, fit the frames on spacer A.
 Do not place the sliding racks in position 5.

12 Months Parts and Labour Guarantee
Your appliance has the benefit of our manufacturers guarantee, which covers the cost of breakdown
repairs for twelve months from the date of purchase.
This gives you the reassurance that if, within that time, your appliance is proven to be defective because
of either workmanship or materials, we will, at our discretion, either repair or replace the appliance at no
cost to you.
This guarantee is subject to the following conditions:
-The appliance has been installed and operated correctly and in accordance with our
operating and maintenance instructions.
-The appliance is used only on the electricity or gas supply printed on the rating plate.
-The appliance has been used for normal domestic purposes only.
-The appliance has not been altered, serviced, maintained, dismantled, or otherwise
interfered with by any person not authorised by us.
-Any repair work must be undertaken by us or our appointed agent.
-Any parts removed during repair work or any appliance that is replaced become our property.
-The appliance is used in the United Kingdom or Republic of Ireland.
The guarantee does not cover:
-Damage resulting from transportation, improper use, neglect or interference or as a result
of improper installation.
-Replacement of any consumable item or accessory . These include but are not limited to: plugs,

5 Year Parts Guarantee
Hotpoint also offers you a free 5 year parts guarantee. This additional guarantee is conditional on you
registering your appliance with us and the parts being fitted by one of our authorised engineers. There
will be a charge for our engineer's time. To activate the extra parts warranty on your appliance, simply

Extended Guarantees
We offer a selection of repair protection plans that enable you to fully cover yourself against the

arrange for an engineer to call. If we cannot resolve the technical problem we will replace your
machine or, if you prefer, give you your money back.
