Introduction
Tohelp removethe'new'smell, heattheemptyoven tomaximumtemperaturefor aminimumoftwo tothreehours,keeping
the door/s closed. Ensure that the room is well ventilated (eg. open a window or use an extractor fan) and that persons
whomay be sensitive to the odour avoid anyfumes. Itissuggestedthatanypetsbe removed from the room until the smell
has ceased.
Thisodouris due to any temporary finishonoven linings and elements and anymoistureabsorbed by the insulation.
Note: When the oven is first used, an odour may be omitted - this will cease after a short period of use.

The Controls
Thevarious features offered by your oven areselected by
meansof function/temperature selector “B”and grill control
“C”situated on the control panel.
Notice: Never place anything on the bottom of the oven
when it is in operation because this could damage the
enamel. Always place your cookware (dishes, aluminium
foil, etc. etc.) on the shelves provided with the appliance
insertedalong the shelf guides “H”.
Thermostatically controlled oven (Convection Mode)
Turningthecontrolinaclockwise direction will bring you to
thecalibrated part ofthedial(from 60°C toMax).Simplyset
the knob to the desired temperature for the food you are
cookingandtheovenwillcookatthattemperature,controlled
by the thermostat. This method of using the oven utilises
boththeupperand lower heating elements.
Note: Whilst using the oven for conventional cooking the
grillcontrol“C”mustbesetwith“MAX”inlinewiththereference
markon the controlpanel.
Grill d
1 Turnthefunction/temperatureselector “B”clockwise
untiltherequiredgrillingsymbolisinlinewiththemark
onthecontrolpanel. Theelementisnow"on".
2 Thevariablegrillcontrol“C”cannowbeusedtoselect
therequiredheat.
The variable grill control "C" provides varying grilling
temperatureswhen rotated from"max"to"min" and maybe
adjusted to vary the level of heat at any time during the
grillingoperation.
NOTE: Grillingmustbedone with the door partially open.
The oven light
Toturnontheovenlight,setthefunction/temperatureselector
“B”to the 8symbol. The lightwillstay on when any of the
electricalheating elementsinthe ovencomeon.
Timer
To use the timer, the buzzer “D” must be wound up by
turningthe knob one full turnclockwise4;thenturnit
back tothedesired time - so thatthe number of minutes
requiredisbythemarkon the panel.
Coolingventilation
In order to cool down the exterior of the appliance, it is
equippedwitha cooling fan which comes onautomatically
whenthe oven is hot.
Whenthe fan ison,anormal flow ofaircanbeheard exiting
betweentheoven door and the controlpanel.
Note: When cooking is finished, the fan stays on until
the oven cools down sufficiently.

WhenUsing the Grill
Usethe d“grill”mode, place the food in the centre of the
grillpan, situated on the 3rdor4thshelffromthe bottom,

When baking cakes, always preheat the oven. Make
sureyouwait until the oven has preheated thoroughly (the
redoven indicator light "E" willgoout).Donotopen the
ovendoor duringbakingtoprevent thecakefromdropping.
Ingeneral,if:
Pastry is too dark on top
Place it on a lower rack, lower the temperature, and
increase the cooking time.
Pastry dropped
Use less liquid or lower the temperature by 10°C.
Cooking Advice
Whencooking in theoven,useonly one bakingtrayorshelf
ata time. Select an upper or lowershelf position based on
whetherthedishneedsmoreorlessheatfromthetop.
Preheating
Ifthefoodbeingcookedneedstogointoapreheated
oven(thisisgenerallythecasewhencookingleavened
foods),we recommend youwaituntilpreheating is over,
whichis indicated by theredovenindicatorlight “E”going
out,beforeaddingthe food.
CookingFish and Meat
When cooking white meat, fowl and fish, use temperature
settings from 180 °C to 200 °C.
For red meat thatshould be well done on theoutside while
tender and juicy in the inside, it is a good idea to start with
ahigh temperaturesetting (200°C-220°C)fora shorttime,
then turn the oven down afterwards.
In general, the larger the roast, the lower the temperature
setting.Placethemeatonthe centre of the shelf and place
thegrillpan/bakingtraybeneathittocatchthefat.
Makesurethattheshelfisinsertedsothatitisinthecentreof
the oven. If you would like to increase the amount of heat
frombelow,use the low shelf positions.
Cooked well on the inside but sticky on the
outside
Use less liquid, lower the temperature, and increase
the cooking time.
The pastry sticks to the pan
Grease the pan well and sprinkle it with a dusting of
flour or use greaseproof paper.
Pastry is too dry
Increase the temperature by 10°C and reduce the
cooking time.
Pastry has dropped
It is cooked well on the inside but is sticky on the
outside

Care and Cleaning
Beforecleaning or carrying out anymaintenaceonyour
oven,youmustdisconnect it from the power supply.
Insidethe oven
Werecommend you clean youroven each time youuse it,
especiallyaftercookingroasts.Infact,itisadvisabletoprevent
foodresiduefrombuildingupduringcooking:theresiduewould
be re-cooked each time the oven is used and would char
andreleasesmokeandunpleasant odours.
Oven exterior
Cleanthe enamelled or stainless steel exterior surfaces of
your oven using a sponge soaked in soapy water, making
sureyourinseanddrythesethoroughly,withoutusingabrasive
orcorrosiveproductswhichcoulddamagethem.
Stainlesssteel
Rinsestainlesssteelpartsanddry themthoroughlyusinga
soft cloth. Use a specific non-abrasive product to remove
tougherstains,
DONOTusealuminiumfoiltoline thebottomoftheoven.
Toavoidhavingtocleanthebottomoftheoven,youmaybe
temptedtolineitwithsomealuminiumfoil.Westronglyadvise
againstthis. The aluminiumfoil sheet in directcontact
withtheheated enamelcoating couldmeltand damage
theenamelcoating insidethe ovenirreversibly.
Rubber Seal
Thereisarubbersealsurroundingtheovenopeningwhich
guaranteesitsperfectfunctioning. Checkthe condition
of this seal on a regular basis. If necessary, clean it
usingwarmwateranddrythoroughly.
DO NOT use abrasive products or objects to do so.
Should the seal become damaged, please contact
Hotpoint Service (see KEY CONTACTS, back page).
We recommend you avoid using the oven until it has
beenrepaired.
How to Remove the Oven Door
The oven door can easily be removed to clean the space
betweenthe bottomofthedoor andthefrontof theoven.To
disassemblethedoor,proceedasfollows:
-opentheovendoorfully,
-liftupandturnthesmallleverssituatedonthetwohinges,
-shutthedoor,butnotcompletely,
-grip the door on the two external sides and pull it towards
you,pullingitoutofitsseat.
Reassemblethedoor by following the aboveprocedures
backwards.
Replacing the Oven Lamp
• Disconnect the oven from the power supply by means
ofthe omnipolar switchusedtoconnect the applianceto
theelectrical mains;orunplugthe applianceiftheplug is
accessible;
• Removetheglasscoverofthelamp-holder;
• Remove the lamp and replace with a lamp resistant to
hightemperatures(300°C) with the following character-
istics:
- Voltage:230/240V
- Wattage 25W
- TypeE14
• Replacethe glass cover and reconnect the ovento the
mainssupply.

Installation
Theappliance must be installed onlyby a qualified per-
son in compliance with the instructions provided. The
manufacturerdeclinesallresponsibility forimproperinstalla-
tion which may harm persons and animals and damage
property.
Important: The power supply to the appliance must be
cut off before any adjustments or maintenance work is
done on it.
Installation of Built-in Ovens
Inorderto ensure that the built-inappliance functions prop-
erly, the cabinet containing it must be appropriate. The
figurebelowgivesthe dimensions of the cut-out for instal-
lation under the counter or in a wall cabinet unit.
In order to ensure adequate ventilation, the back panel of
the cabinet unit must be removed. Installing the oven so
that it rests on two strips of wood is preferable.If the oven
rests on a continuous, flat surface, there must be an ap-
erture of at least 45 x 560 mm.
Thepanelsoftheadjacentcabinetsmustbemadeofheat-
resistantmaterial.In particular, cabinets witha veneerex-
terior must be assembled with glues which can withstand
temperatures of up to 100 °C.
In compliance with current safety standards, contact with
the electrical parts of the oven must not be possible once
it has been installed.
All parts which ensure the safe operation of the appliance
must be removable only with the aid of a tool.
For the correct centring of your appliance, position the 4
tabs on the sides of the oven in correspondence with the
4 holes on the perimeter of the frame. In particular, if the
cabinet side panel:
•is 20 mm thick:the removable part of the tab must be
removed (Fig.A);
•is 18 mm thick: use the first groove, which is factory-
set (Fig. B);
•is 16 mm thick:use the second groove (Fig.C)

Electricalconnection
Theelectrical connectiontothemains must bemadeonthe
appliance. The power voltage and frequency are as
indicatedon the rating plate.
WARNING: THIS APPLIANCE MUST BE EARTHED.
Mounting the power supply cable
Toopen the terminal board:
•Usingascrewdriver, press on the tabs situated on each
sideof theterminalboardcover.
•Pullopen the terminalboardcover.
Tomount the powersupply cable, proceedas follows:
•Unscrewthe cableclampscrewand the contactscrews.
•Positionthejumpersaccordinglytothetypeofconnection
you wish to make as per the diagrams below.
•Note: The jumpers are factory set for a 230V single
phaseconnection.
•Fasten the power supply cable in the corresponding
cableclampand close the cover.
Power cable supply connection to the electrical
mains:
We recommend you use a power supply cable which is
longenough to allowyou to takethe oven outof its recess
inthe event ofmaintenance operations (onlyuse HAR -H
05-RRF quality cables fitted witha plug conforming to the
regulationsinforce.
Theplug must be accessibleat all times.
Unplug the appliance before all operations, even when
replacing the oven lamp.
Using the appliance without correct earthing is highly
dangerous.
IMPORTANT:
Afterconnectingtheappliancetothe flexible cable, tighten
allthescrewsontheterminalboard.
