Please refer to the above materials for specific questions regarding your trailer axle
and licensing requirements for your trailer, which are state specific.
Warranty: Ideal Industries, Inc. (hereinafter ‘The Company’) warrants to the original
product purchaser (hereinafter ‘The Customer’) that the product for which The
Customer received this warranty was designed, developed and/or fabricated using all
due reasonable commercial care and good manufacturing practices. The Company’s
product shall be free from defects in material and workmanship for 180 days from the
original date of purchase. The Company’s sole obligation under this warranty is to
repair or replace the product, at The Company’s discretion. The Company must be
notified in writing of any claim under this warranty within 30 days of any claimed lack
of conformity of the product.
Warranty Limitations: Proper use and safe operation are solely the responsibility
of the operator. This warranty will be interpreted pursuant to the laws of the United
States and the State of Iowa.

Maintenance Schedule
Proper maintenance of your tile trailer includes lubrication of the bearings and pivots,
as well as attention to the tires, hydraulic fluid, and battery. See the chart below for
manufacturer recommendations.
NOTE: All maintenance should be performed while the trailer is stationary and parked
on level ground. Stabilize the trailer using the attached jack(s).

General Safety Standards
The following general safety standards are recommended by Ideal Industries for the
proper operation of your equipment and to ensure the safety of the operator.
ROAD SAFETY
It is the owner’s responsibility to know the requirements of local highway authorities
and comply with regulations. Remember to take precautions to adjust for conditions
when towing.
Trailer Considerations
1. Make sure your tow vehicle and the trailer are properly sized for use together.
2. Check your hitch connection to make sure the trailer is properly attached and
locked and safety chains are secured.
3. Before each tow, check the trailer lights for proper operation.
4. Confirm proper tire pressure and inspect the tires for bubbles, bulges or
excessive wear due to use or weather.
Roadway Clearance
Pay attention to clearance height restrictions and traffic considerations when using
public roadways.
Trailer Height: Your tile trailer is 12’-13’ tall. Be aware of railroad and highway
underpasses where the clearance height may be a problem.

Trailer Width: The width of your tile trailer with the table wings folded is 8’. When
loaded with a full roll of tile, that width may increase to 10’ or 11’. Please note this
difference when transporting a roll on the roadway and operate with caution.
When the tile trailer is empty, always fold the wings and lock them securely to the
table with the pins provided.
MAINTENANCE PRECAUTIONS
Take care to make sure the trailer is firmly stabilized using the attached jack(s) before
beginning any work on the trailer, such as greasing the bearings or checking hydraulic
fluid. Most trailers have a single jack attached. 3-PT Hitch trailers have a jack on each
corner to act as parking stands. Make sure your tow vehicle engine is off and parking
brake is set before entering the area under the trailer or tilted table.
Hydraulic Safety
Always place hydraulic controls in neutral before disconnecting from the tow vehicle
or working on the hydraulic system.
Be sure to relieve pressure before working on the hydraulic system.
Replace any worn out, abraded, flattened or crimped hoses.
Do not attempt any makeshift repairs to the hydraulic fittings. Such repairs are not
dependable under the high-pressure conditions of the system and could create a
hazard.
Wear proper protection for hands and eyes when trying to identify a leak in the
hydraulic system.

Types of Tile Trailers
Ideal Industries manufactures four models of tile trailers: single axle, dual axle, walking
beam, and 3 PT hitch models. Your choice of trailer should be based on the size and
weight of your towing vehicle, your expected loads, and frequency of usage.
Single and dual axle trailers use rubber torsion axles. These axles provide extra “give”
in the axle, without springs. See the Trailer Axle Manual that came with your trailer for
detailed information.
SINGLE AXLE MODEL
This model has a single axle and one set of tires for smaller tow vehicles and lighter
duty performance.
DUAL AXLE MODEL
The dual axle model has two axles and two sets of tires for larger towing vehicles and
heavier duty performance.
Both the single and dual models utilize one remote control on a 25’ cord, which can be
hooked up to the tow vehicle for convenient operation.
WALKING BEAM MODEL
This tile trailer model is built with a walking beam configuration, which allows for
increased pivot of the wheels for smoother operation on rough ground. This model
comes with a two-remote system with one remote on a 25’ cord to be hooked up to
the tow vehicle and one remote firmly attached to the battery box.
3 PT HITCH
Ideal Industries manufactures a tile trailer with a 3PT hitch hookup. This option is
suitable for working in muddy soil. Tractors with 4WD or tracks will be able to drive
through less than optimum conditions with the tile trailer suspended behind.

Hooking Up Your Trailer
SINGLE AXLE, DUAL AXLE AND WALKING BEAM
MODELS
No matter what type of hitch you use (ball, clevis, shackle, or pingel hitch), use caution
when backing up to the trailer and make sure to secure all clips and pins.
3 PT HITCH MODEL
Back your tractor up to the trailer, lining up the three points of contact. Secure each
contact point with a locking pin.
ALL MODELS
Hook up the RV plug to connect the tile trailer lights to your towing vehicle.

* OPTIONAL EQUIPMENT : WIRELESS REMOTE
Ideal has a wireless remote option for operating the hydraulic lift for the trailer table
from your truck or trailer without any cords.

Loading a Tile Roll
Before a tile roll can be loaded, the table must be tilted 90 degrees and the top hat
removed. (See the box below concerning Ideal’s optional Autohat feature.)
RAISING THE TABLE
Always transport an empty trailer with the table wings securely folded to reduce the
width of your trailer on the road. Once you are ready to load a tile spool, the first step
is to unfold the table wings.
Unfolding the Table Wings
Release the pins that secure the wings to the table for transport. Unfold the wings and
replace the pins in the clips to lock them securely. We recommend keeping the wing
nearest to the ground folded when loading a spool to allow for more clearance in
order to align the spool.
Tilting the Table
Use the table remote (corded or wireless options) to tilt the table toward the rear.
Press the UP ARROW button to lift the table until the table is in position.
REMOVING THE TOP HAT
Remove the top hat manually by lifting and pulling until the top has been removed.
Set the top hat aside until the tile roll is loaded on the center tube.
Once the top hat has been removed, align the trailer with the tile spool.
* OPTIONAL EQUIPMENT : AUTOHAT
Our Autohat technology allows one person to remove and replace the top hat
automatically with a remote. You can lift and lower the top hat simply by pushing a
button on a remote, all from the comfort of your truck or tractor! Remove the top hat
BEFORE raising the table.

INSERTING THE TUBE INTO THE SPOOL
Back up the trailer until the center tube is completely inserted into the spool and the
tile contacts the table. Misalignment could result in damage to the tile.
REPLACING THE TOP HAT
Replace the top hat manually. (Autohat technology is available for remote operation.)
LOWERING THE TABLE
With the center tube completely inserted into the spool, the tile contacting the table,
and the top hat replaced on top of the center tube, use the table remote (corded or
wireless options) to lower the table back into position on the trailer. Press the DOWN
ARROW on the remote. Stay clear of the table while operating the remote.
NOTE: The tile trailer works best by having the outer tile wrap near the table and the
inner tile wrap at the top. Use the UP and DOWN ARROWS to rotate the table as
needed.

Stringing Your Tile
Once your tile spool has been safely loaded on the trailer and the top hat secured, you
are ready to transport to the location where you plan to string your tile. Muddy
conditions could result in problems with stringing your tile. Be sure to check your
location in advance of stringing any tile.
OPENING THE ROLL OF TILE
To begin stringing your tile, remove the tile tie downs and release a short length of tile
onto the ground before driving forward.
CONTROLLING YOUR SPEED
Gradually drive forward to dispense the tile. Maintain a consistent speed to help with
smooth tile feed. Utilize the table brake to control the uncoiling speed.
CUTTING A TILE MID-SPOOL
If your job requires less than a full spool of tile, you will need to stop and cut your tile.
Then secure the loose end to the spool using string, a rubber strap, or joint tape.
* OPTIONAL EQUIPMENT : PARTIAL SPOOL
IDEAL makes an optional cartridge (Heavy Duty Removable Spool) to move and
store partial spools of tile. The tile gets loaded onto the cartridge (which is
loaded on the center tube) and the cartridge provides a mechanism for securing
the tile end and stability for the partially used roll of tile to be placed on the
ground without unrolling.

Troubleshooting
Trouble with the operation of your trailer may be the result of normal wear and tear or
usage issues which can be addressed with a simple fix or proper maintenance.
BEFORE YOU CALL US:
1. Check your hydraulic fluid levels. Refill as needed.
2. Look for contamination in the fluid. Remove any contaminants or replace the
fluid.
3. Examine all hoses and hydraulic lines for leaks. Repair or replace as needed.
4. Check your battery. Is it charged? Are the cables connected and intact? Are the
connections clean?
COMMON CONCERNS:
PROBLEM: The table won’t tilt up or down
SOLUTION: Check your battery and make sure it’s charged. Check for tight, clean
contacts.
PROBLEM: Table brake does not engage
SOLUTION: Check your battery and make sure it’s charged. Check for tight, clean
contacts.
PROBLEM: There’s uneven tire tread on my tires
SOLUTION: Check for tire balance, spindle alignment, and appropriate tire pressure.
PROBLEM: Trailer pulls to one side
SOLUTION: Make sure tires are evenly inflated to the correct pressure. Use only
matching, evenly worn tires. Check alignment.
PROBLEM: The wireless remote isn’t functioning
SOLUTION: Examine the cords for damage or cuts. (For specific problems with the
wireless remote, please refer to the separate manual included with your remote.)
