rubbergloveswhenworkingonornearbatteries.
•Donotwearlooseclothingorjewelrysuchasrings,watches,chains,etc.,whenservicingthevehicle.
•Useinsulatedtoolswhenworkingnearbatteriesorelectricalconnections.Useextremecautionto
avoidshortingofcomponentsorwiring.

acceleratorpedal(Example:SH0501-583947)(Figure3).Thereisalsoasecondserialnumberdecalmountedon
thefrontbodyframebehindtheinstrumentpanel.Theinstrumentpanelmustberemovedtoviewthisdecal.See

Thekeyswitchismountedontheinstrumentpaneltotherightofthesteeringcolumn(Figure4).Ithasthreepositions:
OFF,ONandSTART.T ostartthevehicle,placetheForward/ReversehandleintheNEUTRALpositionandturnthe
keypasttheONpositiontotheSTARTpositionandholduntiltheengineisrunningsmoothly.Releasethekeyandit
willreturntotheONpositionandtheengineshouldidle.Theenginewillcontinuetoidleuntilthekeyisturnedtothe
OFFposition.SeefollowingWARNING,CAUTIONandNOTE.

vehicleintheforwarddirection,ortowardsthepassenger(REVERSE)tooperatethevehicleinreverse.Theengine
canbestartedonlywhenthehandleisinthestraightupposition(NEUTRAL).Theenginemustbeatidlebefore
shiftingtheForward/Reversehandle.SeeprecedingWARNINGandCAUTION.
Husqvarnavehiclesoperateatareducedspeedinreverse.Thereversebuzzerwillsoundasawarningwhenthe
Forward/ReversehandleisintheREVERSEposition.

BRAKEPEDAL
ThebrakepedalisthelargepedalontheleftwiththewordSTOPmoldedintoit(Figure6).T osloworstopthe
vehicle,pressthebrakepedal(Figure7).
PARKBRAKE
Theparkbrakehandleislocatedbetweenthedriverandpassengerseats.T oengagetheparkbrake,rstapply
pressuretothebrakepedal,thenpullupontheparkbrakehandleuntilhandlelatchesintoplace.T odisengage,pull
uponthehandleandpressthebuttonontheendofthehandle.Pushhandledown.SeefollowingWARNING.
WARNING
•Theparkbrakehasmultiplelockingpositionsandshouldbermlylockedtopreventvehiclefrom
rolling.
LOCKOUTCAM
Thekey-startvehicleisequippedwithalockoutcamthatallowstheenginetobestartedonlywhenthe
Forward/ReversehandleisintheNEUTRALposition.Thelockoutcam(yellow)islocatedonthebackofthe
Foward/Reversehandleinsidetheenginecompartment(Figure8).
NOTE:Besurethecamisinthecorrectposition.Thecamshouldactivatethelimitswitchonlywhenthe

2.Todisengagethedifferentiallock,cometoacompletestop,thenpushlevertowardfrontofvehicle.
LOWOILWARNINGLIGHT
Thevehicleisequippedwithalowoilwarninglight,locatedontheinstrumentpaneljusttotherightofthesteering
columnandkeyswitch(Figure11).Ifthewarninglightcomeson,oilshouldbecheckedandaddedtotheengineas
necessarybeforecontinuingtousethevehicle.Thevehicleshouldneverbedrivenwhenthelowoilwarninglight
remainson.Ifthewarninglightgoesonandoff,thevehiclemaybedriven,butoilshouldbeaddedattherst
opportunity.Iftheoilleveliscorrectandthewarninglightstayson,haveatrainedtechniciancheckthevehicle.
SeefollowingCAUTION.
CAUTION
•Failuretoaddoilimmediatelywhenthelowoilwarninglightstaysonmayresultinpermanent
enginedamage.

Afuelgaugeandhourmeterarehousedtogetheratthelowerleftcorneroftheinstrumentpanel.Thefuelgauge
operateswhenthekeyswitchisintheONposition,andallowstheoperatortomonitorthefuellevelinthevehicle.The
hourmeteroperatesonlywhentheengineisrunning,andshouldbeusedonlybytrainedtechnicianstotrackvehicle
usageanddeterminewhenperiodicserviceproceduresarerequired.SeePeriodicServiceScheduleonpage27.
HEADLIGHTCONTROL
Theheadlightcontrolislocatedonthefrontinstrumentpanelbetweenthefuelgauge/hourmeterandsteeringcolumn.
Pulltheheadlightcontrolknobouttoturntheheadlightsonandpushtheknobintoturntheheadlightsoff.
NOTE:Usingtheheadlightsforextendedperiodsoftimewithouttheenginerunning,orwiththeengineidling,will
dischargethebattery.
LIGHTBARCONTROL
Thelightbarcontrolisatoggleswitchlocatedontheinstrumentpanelaboveandslightlyleftoftheheadlightcontrol
knob.Placethetoggleswitchintheupperpositiontoilluminatethelightbarlightsandinthelowerpositiontoturnthe
lightbarlightsoff.
SEATLATCHANDADJUSTMENT
Theseatsarehingedtoalloweasyaccesstotheenginecompartment.Alatchattherearofeachseatbottomkeeps
theseatfrommovingonitshingeswhilethevehicleisinoperation.T odisengagethelatch,grasptheseatbackand
pullrmlyinaforward/upwarddirectionuntilthelatchreleases.Toengagetheseatlatch,pushdownrmlyontheseat
backuntiltheseatlocksintoplace.SeefollowingWARNING.

Thebucketseatsonallvehiclesareadjustableandcanbemovedforwardorbackwardtoaccommodatethedriver
orpassenger.Toadjustaseat:
1.Removetheseatfromthevehicle.
2.Removethefourboltsandwashersfromthebottomoftheseatmountingplate.
3.Alignthemountingplateholeswithholesintheseattoachievethedesiredseatposition.
4.Installwashersandboltsandtightento96in-lb(10.8N·m).

EachHusqvarnavehiclehasbeenthoroughlyinspectedandadjustedatthefactory;however,uponreceivingyournew
vehicle(s),youshouldbecomefamiliarwithitscontrols,indicators,andoperation.Carefullyinspecteachvehicleto
ensurethatitisinproperworkingconditionbeforeacceptingdelivery.
Usethefollowingchecklistasaguidetoinspectthevehicle.Thischecklistshouldbeuseddailytoensurethat
thevehicleisinproperworkingconditionandinconjunctionwiththePerformanceInspectiononpage17andthe
PeriodicServiceScheduleonpage27.AnyproblemsshouldbecorrectedbyaHusqvarnadistributor/dealerora
trainedtechnician.
•General:Allthepartsshouldbeinplaceandproperlyinstalled.Besurethatallnuts,bolts,andscrewsaretight.
Checkhoseclampsfortighttandthestarterbeltfortightness.
•Safetyandinformationdecals:Checktoensurethatallsafetyandinformationdecalsareinplace.SeeSafety
DecalandFeatureIdenticationonpage4.
•Tires:Checkforpropertirepressure.Visuallyinspecttiresforwear,damage,andproperinationonadailybasis.

•Battery:Beforeusingvehicleforthersttime,checkelectrolytetoensureitisattheproperlevel(Figure26).
Checkbatteryposts.Wiresshouldbetightandfreeofcorrosionandbatteryshouldbefullycharged.

PERFORMANCEINSPECTION
Afteryouhavefamiliarizedyourselfwiththevehiclecontrolsandhavereadandunderstoodthedrivinginstructions,
takethevehicleforatestdrive.

DrivingInstructions
Usethefollowingchecklist,inconjunctionwiththePre-OperationandDailySafetyChecklist,asaguidetoinspectthe
vehicleandcheckdailyforproperoperation.AnyproblemsshouldbecorrectedbyaHusqvarnadistributor/dealerora
trainedtechnician.
•Forward/Reverseshifter:Checkforproperoperation.SeeControlsandIndicatorsonpage11.
•Brakes:Besurethebrakesfunctionproperly.Whenbrakepedalisfullypressedundermoderatepressure,it
shouldnotgomorethanhalfwaytotheoorboard,andvehicleshouldcometoasmooth,straightstop.Ifthebrake
pedalgoesmorethanhalfwaytotheoorboard,orifthevehicleswervesorfailstostop,havethebrakesystem
checkedandadjustedasrequired.Whenbrakepedalisfullypressedunderheavypressure,pedalshouldfeelrm
andfootpadshouldbeaminimumof2inches(5.1cm)fromoorboard.Brakeadjustmentmustbemaintainedso
thebrakepedalcannotbepressedtotheoorboardunderanycircumstance.
•Parkbrake:Applymoderatepressuretoparkbrakehandle.T ensionshouldincreaseasthehandleispulled.When
latched,theparkbrakeshouldlockthewheelsandholdthevehiclestationary(onaninclineof20%orless).
•Reversebuzzer:ThereversebuzzershouldsoundasawarningwhentheForward/Reversehandleisinthe
REVERSEposition.
•Steering:Thevehicleshouldbeeasytosteerandshouldnothaveanyplayinthesteeringwheel.
•Acceleratorforpedal-startvehicle:WiththekeyswitchintheONpositionandtheForward/Reversehandleinthe
FORWARDposition,astheacceleratorpedalispressed,theengineshouldstartandthevehicleshouldaccelerate
smoothlytofullspeed.Whenthepedalisreleaseditshouldreturntotheoriginalpositionandtheenginestop.
Husqvarnavehiclesoperateatreducedspeedinreverse.
•Acceleratorforkey-startvehicle:AfterstartingtheenginewiththekeyswitchandplacingtheForward/Reverse
handleintheFORWARDposition,thevehicleshouldacceleratesmoothlytofullspeedastheacceleratorpedalis
pressed.Whentheacceleratorpedalisreleaseditshouldreturntotheoriginalpositionandtheengineshouldidle.
•Governor:Checkmaximumvehiclespeed.Itshouldoperateinforwardat17-19mph(27-31km/h)onalevel
surface.
•Differentiallockcable:Withthewheelsatrest,pullthedifferentiallockhandletowardtherearofthevehicle
(lockedposition).Thedifferentiallockarmattheotherendofthecableshouldmoveapproximatelyone-halfinch
(12.7mm)downward.Whenthedifferentiallockhandleisplacedbackintotheunlockedposition,thedifferential
lockarmshouldmoveapproximatelyone-halfinch(12.7mm)upward.
•General:Listenforanyunusualnoisessuchassqueaksorrattles.Checkthevehicle’srideandperformance.
HaveaHusqvarnadealeroratrainedtechnicianinvestigateanythingunusual.

•Onlylicenseddriversshouldbeallowedtodrivethevehicle.
•Beforeallowinganyonetodrivethevehicle,makesurethedriverisfamiliarwithallcontrolsand
operatingprocedures.
•Nooneundertheageof16yearsshouldbeallowedtodrivethevehicle.
•Nomorethanonepersonperbucketseatatonetime,ortwopersonsperbenchseat.
•Donotallowridersinthecargobed.
•Fornightuse,thevehiclemustbeequippedwithheadlights,taillights,andreectors.
•Thevehicleisnotspeciallyequippedforhandicappedpersons:
