ON/OFF, Analogue
Volume
Rotary
with
LED
PowerON (with modeselection
):
Press
and hold
the
rotary
knob
until
LEDs
light
up
.The
LEDs
(rotary knob, kHz & INPUT} on
the
front
faceplate
will
light-up
corresponding
to
the
last mode used.
Either release
for
last mode
or
keep
the
rotary
knob
pushed in
to
cycle
through
the
two
modes. Release
to
accept
that
mode.

The xDSD allows you

Note:The xDSD does
not
use a
digital
volume
control.
Instead,
it
has
a pure analogue
volume
control
system. For
the
maximum
sound
quality
when
using a
digital
source, place
that
device
at
full
volume
(100%
or
bypass}
so

volume

controlled
only
by
the
xDSD.
Note:When
there
is
no
musicsignal,
the
system wi
ll
go
into
mute
and hence
the
volume
LED
wiU
be
off.This

normal.

USB
and S/PDIF is
done
automatically.
The
USB
signal
input
has
priority
over
S/PDIF.
S/PDIF:To
enter
S/
PDIF
mode
,please make sure
that
there
is
no
USB
signal
on
the
USB
input.
Wireless
Mode
(Bluetooth)
ThexDSD is
able
to
store
up
to
8 paired
Bluetooth
devices.
From switch on,
if
the
xDSD
is
in
Wireless
mode
(Blue)
it
will
'blink'
blue
as
it
searches
for
15seconds
for
a previously paired device.
If
a stored device is
not
found,
it
will
automatically
enter
pairing
mode
(INPUT:
Blue/Red
blinking
).
A
new
Bluetooth
devicecan
be
'force paired'
by
pressing
the
'Settings'
button
(0 / 0 )
for
3 seconds.
3. S-Balanced
headphone
3.Smm/Line

Mode
This
is
adual-
mono
headphone
amplifier
section
with
S-Balanced
3.5mm
TRRS/TRS
connection
.This special
headphone
circuit
is
of
most
benefit
to
'Balanced' headphones,
but
alsoelevates
the
performance
of
'non
-balanced' headphones.
Line Output
Mode
The same 3.
5mm
jack
can
be
used
as
a fixed-level line
out
with
all
headphone
specificsonic
controls
disabled
and
volume
control
bypassed.
Turning
the
volume
will
have
no
effect.The 3.
5mm
output
when
in Line
Output
mode
is
2V.
Warning:
In
Line
Output
mode,
do
NOT have
headphones
inserted
as
damage
to
product/hearing
may ensue.
As
the
xDSD
retains
the
last
mode
on
next
power
on,
it
will
revert back
to
Line
Output
mode
if
that
was
the
last
mode
used.
Enabling Line-Output:When
the
unit
is
OFF,
HOLD
the
'Settings'
button
( 0 /0 )
THEN
press
the
rotary
to
switch
ON.
Once
the
xDSD powers up, release
the
rotary
whilst
still
holding
the
'Settings'
button
( O/
C)
)
for
3 seconds. Once released,
the
rotary
LED
should
indicate
White.
Disabling Line-Output:Turn
the
unit
off
and
HOLD
the
'Settings'
button
( O/ O )
THEN
press
the
rotary
to
switch
ON. Once
the
xDSD has powered-up, keep
the
rotary
pushed
in
to
cycle
as
per
normal
through
the
two
modes
and
release
to
select
the
desired
mode
. The
Line-Output
mode
deactivation
will
be
disabled
by
the
rotary
being
blank(ie:
not
l
it
White).

3D+
•
Matrix
LED
3D+• Matrix (on/
off
) recreates aholographic sound field like listening
to
a pair
of
speakers.
It
is
apure analogue signal processing circuit.

XBass+•
LED
XBass+• (On/Off)
was
uniquelydesigned
to
extend
bass
response
to
suitdifferentheadphones.
It
is
a pureanaloguesignal circuit.
Tip:Sonically-hindering
DSP
is
NOTused
for
XBass+•
nor
30+•
Matrix
systems. They use the
highest-quality
discrete components
and
operate purely
in
the analogue domain. Hence
all
the clarity
and
resolution
of
the
original
music
is
fullyretained.

Filter
-
Different digital filters are available
for
PCM
&
DSD.
For listening
enjoyment, we recommend
the
transient optimized minimum-
phase 'Listen'
filter
but
feel free
to
choose thefrequency response
optimised'Measure' filter.

Type-C
USB
charging
port
TheType-C
USB
port
is
ONLY
for
charging
(it does
not
perfo
rm
any
other
function
).
When
the
xDSD is
off
and
a
SV
USB
power
supply
is
detected
,
the
LED
will
change
colour
to
show
the
various states
of
charge
(see
next
s
ection
).
We
advise
to
charge
the
xDSD swi
tched
off.
It
is
possible
to
charge
the
xDSD
and
listen
to
music
at
the
same
time
,
but
it
maytake l
onger
to
be
fully-charged
,
depending
on
volume
level
and
headphone
sused.
Further,
if
the
most
demanding
headphonesare used,
the
battery
maytakeeven
longer
to
fully
-charge.
The
xDSD

warm

touch
when
it

simultaneously
in

and

If
the
LED
is
BLUE
when
you
first
switch
ON
the
machine,
it
means
that
it
is
sufficiently
charged.
If
the
LED
is
RED,
please
turn
OFF
the
machine
and
charge
until
no
LED
is
lit.
2.
If
you
cannot
power
ON
or
if
there
is
no
LED
light,
please
insert
a
USS
cable
with
USS
power
3-5 times,
then
the
LED
should
be
BLUE.
It
should
stay like
this
for
a
few
hours
(depending
upon
how
flat
the
battery
is).
If
not,
please
re-insert
the
USS
cable
(with
USS
power) 3 5
times
again,
and
once
the
LED
is
BLUE,
leave
for
at
least6 hours.
3.
After
a
long
period
on
inactivity
(say 3-6
months),
please
fully
charge
the
machine
again.
