Safety
There are inherent safety issues whilst welding so please ensure you read this
manual carefully before commencing operaons and follow the safety guidelines
below to protect yourself and others from injury:
1. Whilst welding, ensure that you are working in a well venlated area to avoid
breathing in smoke & fumes.
2. Always wear a suitable welding mask/helmet, welding gloves & protecve
clothing whilst welding.
3. When appropriate use a suitable welding screen or curtain to protect other
people.
4. Do not weld near ammable materials or combusble liquids or gases.
5. Ensure the earth return is connected appropriately to prevent danger of electric
shock.
6. Magnec elds produced by the welder during operaon may aect cardiac
pacemakers — pacemaker users should consult a doctor before welding.
Set Up & Working Environment
1. The i-TECH135 welder should be operated from a 240v power input.
2. If you are using a generator, ensure it is powerful enough to operate the
machine. For best results use a generator ed with an AVR.
3. The i-TECH135 welder should be used & stored in dry condions.
4. Avoid working in environments where there is a lot of dust or corrosive gases.
5. Do not grind near to the air intake of the machine
Operang Instrucons
1. Connect the earth return lead to the negave socket on the front of the machine
and the electrode holder lead to the posive socket.
2. Turn the power switch at the back of the machine on — you will hear the
fan start to work & the green “power on” indicator LED will light up.
3. Set the welding current to the required level depending on the size of electrode
you will be using — general guidelines are as follows:
4. Aach the earth return clamp to the work piece or work bench & insert the
electrode into the holder.
5. Strike the electrode on the work piece to establish a welding arc.
6. Once you have nished welding, li the electrode away from the work piece &
switch the power o at the back of the machine.
