TheEvolve300CXRFR(Ready‐For‐Receiver)versionisfully‐assembledandtest‐flownatthe
factory(likeallRTFversionmodels).Aftertestflyingiscompletethereceiverisremovedand
thewireleadsthatwillconnecttoyourchosenreceiverareleftlocatedinsidethenoseofthe
body.
Selectasuitable5+channelreceivercompatiblewiththetransmitteryou’vechosentouse
thenlocatethewireleadsandconnectors(5total)thatmustbeconnectedtothereceiver.
Dependingontheavailablelengthofthewireleads,aswellasthesizeandshapeofyour
receiver,determineifthereceivercanbemountedonthetoporbottomoftheplastic
mountingtrayattachedtothemainframe(locatedinsidethebodynearthenoseofthe
helicopter).Whenpossiblewerecommendinstallingthereceiverontopofthetrayandin
frontofthefactory‐installed3‐in‐1controlunit.
Checkthefitofyourreceiverinthechosenmountingpositionwhileensuringthebest
possibleorientationfortheantenna(s)andthewireleads/connections.Afterdeterminingthe
bestmountingpositionremovethereceiverandapplyoneortwosectionsoftheincluded
two‐sidedfoamtapeonthesidethatwillbemountedtothetray.Next,locateallfive(5)of
thewireleadsandconnectorsthatmustbeconnectedtothereceiver.Eachwireleadis
labeledaccordingtothechannelofthereceiveritmustbeconnectedto.Refertothe
markingsonthereceiver,themarkingsonthelabelsandthelistbelowtomaketheproper
connections(youmayalsoneedtorefertotheinstructionmanualforthereceiverand/or
transmitteryou’vechosentouse).
NOTE:It’simportanttoensurecorrectpolaritywhenpluggingthewireleads/connectors
intothereceiver.Refertothemarkingsonthereceiver(ortheinstructionmanualforthe

Afterconfirmingthecontrolsarerespondingproperly,carefullyroutethereceiverandwire
leadsintothenoseofthehelicopterandmountthereceivertothetrayusingthetwo‐sided
foamtape.Inmostcasesitwilltypicallybebesttoroutethereceiverandwireleadsthrough
theopeninginthebottomofthebody,butinsomecases(dependingonthesize/shapeof
thereceiverandtheavailablelengthofthewireleads)itmaybepossibletoroutethem
throughoneofthe‘window’openingsonthesidesofthebody.
Withthereceivermountedonthetrayensurethatallconnectionsaresecureandthatthe
antenna(s)andwireleadsareclearofanymovingparts,electronicsorother
components/partsthatcoulddamagethemand/orhaveanegativeeffectontheradio
systemperformance,range,etc.Werecommendreferringtotheinstructionmanualforthe

befromapproximately40–100°F.Donotstorethebatteryormodelinahotgarage,
carordirectsunlightwheneverpossible.Ifstoredinahotgarageorcarthebattery
canbedamagedorevencatchfire.
•Donotover‐dischargetheLiPobattery.DischargingtheLiPobatterytoolowcan
causedamagetothebatteryresultinginreducedpower,flightdurationorfailureof
thebatteryentirely.
LiPocellsshouldnotbedischargedtobelow3.0Veachunderload.Inthecaseofthe
3‐Cell/3S11.1VLiPobatteryusedtopowertheEvolve300CXyouwillnotwantto
allowthebatterytofallbelow9.0Vduringflight.
The3‐in‐1controlunitdoesnotfeaturealowvoltagecutoff(LVC)ofanytypesoit’s
importantforyoutobeawareofthepowerleveloftheLiPobatteryduringflight.If
youeverfindthatmorethanthetypicalamountofthrottle/powerisrequiredto
hoverand/orthehelicopterwillnotascend/climbevenatfullpoweryoushouldland
themodelanddisconnectthebatteryimmediatelytopreventover‐discharge.
ContinueddischargingcancausepermanentdamagetotheLiPobatteryresultingin
reducedpoweroutputand/orshortenedflightdurationsduringsubsequentflights
(orfailureofthebatteryentirely).
Youmustchargetheincluded800mAh3‐Cell/3S11.1V20CLiPoBattery(IFLB8003S20J)
usingonlytheincluded3‐Cell/3S11.1VLiPo,0.8‐AmpDCBalancingCharger(IFLC308C)ora
suitablycompatibleLiPobatterycharger.ChargingtheLiPobatteryusinganon‐LiPobattery
compatiblecharger(suchasaNiCdorNiMHbatterycharger),orevenadifferentLiPo
batterychargerwiththeincorrectsettings,mayresultindamagetothebatteryorfire
resultinginpropertydamageand/orpersonalinjury.

sidesofthecharger.Also,DONOTplacethechargerindirectsunlightbefore,during
orafteruse.
Connectthewhite4‐pinconnectorfrombattery(alsotypicallyreferredtoasthe
‘balanceconnector’)tothematingconnectoronthecharger.YOUMUSTBECAREFUL
TOENSUREPROPERPOLARITYBEFOREMAKINGTHECONNECTION.Referencethe
markingsonthechargerandensurethattheblackcolornegative/groundwirelead
isorientedsoit’stowardtheright‐handsideoftheconnectoronthecharger.And
althoughtheconnectorsare‘keyed’tominimizetheriskofareversepolarity
connection,ifyouforcethemitispossibletomakeconnectionwithincorrectpolarity
potentiallycausingdamagetothebatteryand/orcharger.Whentheconnectorsare
properlyalignedforcorrectpolarity,connectingthemshouldrequireonlyamoderate
amountofpressuretoachievethe‘click’thatindicatesasecureconnection.

Whenthebatteryisconnectedtothechargersecurelyandwiththeproperpolarity
boththeredcolorandgreencolorLEDindicatorswillglowsolid.Thebatterywillbe
charginganytimethegreenLEDindicatorisglowingsolid.

listedonthelabelofthecharger):

Itwilltakeapproximately1.0–1.5hourstofullychargeamostlyorfullydischarged
battery(NOTE:Seethefollowinginformationinthissectionformoredetailsregarding
optional‘fast’chargingthatcanreducechargetimestoaslittleas30‐45minutes).And
whenthebatteryisfullychargedthegreenLEDindicatorwillstopglowingentirely.
WhenthegreenLEDindicatorisnolongerglowingyoucandisconnectthebattery
fromthechargerasitisnowfullychargedandreadyforuse.
NOTE:TheLiPobatteryincludedwithyourmodelwillarrivepartiallycharged.Forthis
reasontheinitialchargemayonlytakeapproximately30–45minutes.

NOTE:It’ssaferandbetterforthelongevityofthebatterytostoreitonlypartially
chargedforanylengthoftime.Storingthebatteryatapproximately50%charge(whichis
approximately3.85Vpercell)istypicallybest;however,itwilltakesomecareful
managementofthechargetimeandtheuseofavoltmetertoachievethisvoltage.
Ifyouhavetheequipmentandskillstoachievethe50%chargelevelforstorageitis
recommended.Ifnot,simplybesuretonotstorethebatteryfullychargedwhenever
possible.Infact,aslongasthebatterywillbestoredatapproximatelyroomtemperature
andfornomorethanafewweeksbeforethenextuse,itmaybebesttostorethebattery
inthedischargedstateafterthelastflight(aslongasthebatterywasnotover‐discharged
onthelastflight).
ChargeErrorsandIndications
IntheeventthatboththeredandgreenLEDsflashanerrorhasoccurredduringthe
chargeprocess.Someexamplesofchargeerrorsandtheirindicationsinclude:
