Quick Setup Guide

Important Setup Advice
∞Power Line Adapter (PLA) units may only be used on the same electrical circuit in a home. Most homes
typically have one circuit for lighting and another for electrical outlets, but large homes may have two
circuits for electrical outlets.
∞Using a double adaptor or a power board in your setup is not recommended.
∞Each PLA unit requires at least 5cm clearance below the power socket to allow for an ethernet cable. It is
not suitable for very low mounted wall sockets.
Setting up with a Power Line Adapter
Your two Power Line Adapter units are already paired with each other. If you run into any issues, check out our

PLEASE NOTE: You can use a Power Line Adapter to connect any ethernet-compatible device;
we’ve shown you an iiNet TV with Fetch set top box as an example.

Setting up with a Power Line Adapter
1. Pick up one of your Power Line Adapter (PLA) units and
plug one end of an ethernet cable into the LAN port.
2. Plug the other end of the ethernet cable into an
available LAN port on your modem.
3. Plug the PLA unit into an electrical outlet.
Using a double adaptor or a power board is not
recommended.
4. Pick up your other PLA unit and plug one end of an
ethernet cable into the LAN port.
5. Plug the other end into the ethernet port on the
back of the device you wish to connect to your
modem (e.g. iiNet TV set top box).
6. If you haven’t already done so, make sure the
electrical outlets used for both PLA units are
turned on. The PWR (power) lights on each unit will
illuminate.
7. All done! When both PLA units have a connection
with each other, the LAN lights will turn on and
remain solid.

Using the Driver Utility
Your Power Line Adapter units come with a CD to install the Driver Utility – this isn’t necessary for setup, but it
is useful to reset, monitor or access some advanced settings for your PLA units, so keep it in a safe place.
1. Insert the CD into a computer’s disk drive and run through the installation wizard.
2. After the Driver Utility is installed, a PLA unit will need to be connected to that computer to make use of the
Driver Utility.
3. Turn off and disconnect one of the PLA units from anywhere in your home.
4. Plug the ethernet cable for that PLA unit into the ethernet port on your computer, and then plug the PLA
unit into an electrical outlet and turn it on.
5. Open the Driver Utility on your computer to view your PLA settings.
