Chapter 2. Installing and using TouchKit
TouchKit issoftware,which contains drivers ofthe touchpanel controllers for RS232
and PS/2, and utilities for controller configuration:
• Configuration support
Touchkit provides three program utilities for calibration and drawtest. Theyare
a.) tp4pcal.exe for 4points calibration
b.) tp25pcal.exe for 25 points calibration
c.) tpdraw.exe for drawtest
• Right button support
Thisisutilityfor emulatingtheright and leftbutton ofmouse through controlling
touch panel. User can toggle between right or leftmousebuttonswiththisutility.
This utilitysupports onlyvideo mode three.
Follow these stepstoinstall TouchKit.
1. Put the TouchKit CD to CD-ROM.
2. Change directoryto <CD-ROM drive>:\DOS\
3. Execute the installation program: INSTALL.BAT
For example:
Note: To enable mousecursor, pleaselaunch MOUSE.COM before launching TPANEL.EXE in
AUTOEXEC.BAT.Forex.

After installation TouchKit and rebooting system,the driver willprobe all
communication devices bydefault. Execute TPANEL -? for more options.
Note: If user attaches TouchKit controllerto another communication port,please
reboot computer.
To avoid confusing theend-user, TouchKit driver use the virtual TKT port name
instead of the com port name. In order version driver, TouchKit driver parsers the
com1and com2from the system environment. If theuserneedsanother comport,
forexamplecom5,all the end-user todo is set the environment variablesas set
COM1 = IOADDR,IRQ.However, this newdriver package use TKT instead of com.
Thissuitsupports atmosttwoserialports;which are TKT1 (IO:0x3F8 IRQ:4) and
TKT2 (IO:0x2F8 IRQ:3) bydefault. If BIOS settings differ (ex. COM1 isof IO addr
3E8 and IRQ4), add one more line (before TPANEL.EXE) in AUTOEXEC.BATto
redirect: SET TKT1 =3E8 4
Also, Ifthe user needsthe controller at another serial port ( for example, com5 where
IOaddress is 4F8,IRQis 4), it need toredirectthe system environment variable by
SET TKT1 = 4F8 4
before launch TPANEL.EXE in the AUTOEXEC.BAT

After saving new tpanel.ini,user can force the driver to reload the new tpanel.ini by
executing C:\TouchKit\>tpanel -r Other adjustmentcan be checked by
C:\TouchKit\> tpanel-?
There are three utilities: TPDRAW, TP4PCAL and TP25PCAL tocalibrate touch
panel. Theyallsupport extra command-line arguments such as -g 1024x768 behind
to specifyscreen resolution on action.
Resolutions supported: (use 640x480 bydefault)
320x200, 640x200,640x350, 640x480,800x600, 1024x768 and 1280x1024

Test the drawing position related to the displayscreen on panel.
E.g. C:\>tpdrawtkt2
Tryto write ordrawon it to verifythe touch position.
Press <ESC> button to exit.

After the calibration, the newrecord will overwrite the old one.

Right Button Emulator supports onlyvideomode 3and muststart after the driver
being installed; user mayedit C:\>AUTOEXEC.BAT to toggleiton/off. Ifit isturned
on abutton willappearin the right-bottom corner ofscreen when mousepointer is
turned on.
The labelof button, which is [L] bydefault andbecomes [R] after button being
clicked, indicates that next touching downon panel will be reported as left (orright)
mouse button click.

Chapter 4. Uninstalling TouchKit
Follow these stepsto uninstall TouchKit.
For example:
